Outstanding Video Quality and Easy Installation

This wired Ring doorbell has been a fantastic upgrade for my home. The 2K video quality is incredibly sharp, and the wide-angle view lets me see much more of my front porch than my previous doorbell camera. The enhanced zoom is also very useful for getting a closer look when needed.Installation was straightforward, and the Ring app made setup quick and simple. Notifications are fast, and pairing it with Alexa makes it even more convenient by announcing visitors throughout the house.The build quality is excellent, the speckled gray finish looks modern, and the camera performs reliably day and night. Great Doorbell, Possibly Too Good at Its Job

The video quality is excellent, and the wide-angle view gives us a clear picture of everything happening near the door. Setup was straightforward, and it works well with Alexa. My only caution is that the motion detection is SUPER sensitive. Setting the alert area seems simple enough, but the boundaries aren’t very precise—we still get notifications for activity outside the selected zone. Overall, it’s a great wired doorbell with impressive coverage and picture quality; just be prepared to fine-tune the motion settings and possibly receive alerts about things you never asked to monitor!Ver más

I love it

Love my new ring doorbell. Very easy to set up and adjust to your needs. We wanted it hardwired so we didn't have to charge it, so we had to get an angled bracket as our doorbell in on a perpendicular wall, works great. Picture is clear. We paired it with Alexa and she greets all our guests and notifies us of package delivery. Happy with the purchase.Ver más

Updated: Subscription nightmare

2nd UPDATE:I had to call ring again today (5 days after the first call) because the lady I spoke to withheld my FULL refund (I did have to pay for a new subscription as part of the deal which was fine) AND my extra 10 dollars off for my next month. How do you promise these things and not deliver? I told the guy I was not messing around and I was promised these items on a recorded line. He did some keyboard clicks, confirmed that was the deal and immediately sent me my email confirmation for the full refund AND my 1 month free. I shouldn’t have to waste another hour of my time on this. Also, when I paid my subscription again, it never asked me to change my address and that was the excuse used by the lady I spoke to previously as to what caused my issue in the first place, so that was clearly a straight up lie. I think a system glitch occurred which is scary coming from a video doorbell company… I am VERY disappointed with Ring. Way to sour your reputation. I WAS willing to pay the money for Ring, but if this is the best you can do subscription wise, Ring has some MAJOR work to do. I’ll hold onto my cameras at least this year but will seriously consider a different company next year and sell these things. Pathetic customer service!!UPDATE:Subscription nightmare!! While on vacation, AFTER I paid the 100 dollars per year for the multi-camera plan, my “ring pro” trial subscription expired and it cancelled my PAID account. When I called Ring Customer support, I was on hold with AI chat boxes for 1 hour (online chat boxes that said “a rep will reach out in 30 minutes” - never happened) and then on the phone for another hour. Turns out, my address was wrong when I signed up for the multi-camera, HOWEVER my address was correct in the app. After speaking to a customer support rep, finally, I had to CANCEL my current, and ACTIVE, subscription, ALL WHILE SOMEONE WAS IN MY BACKYARD AND I HAD NO ACCESS TO MY RECORDED VIDEOS SO WHAT THEY WERE DOING? NO CLUE! Anyway, I now have to resign up for another 1 year subscription. I got a full refund and a 10 dollar credit for the issue. I explained their AI chat boxes were horrible, and that me, a tech savvy person, SHOULD NOT HAVE AN ISSUE WITH ENTERING THE WRONG ADDRESS WHILE SIGNING UP. I told her this was an issue solely with ring and the horrible way the website works. Also, during my wait, I tried to access my subscription, WHICH YOU CAN NOT DO ON THE APP???? WHY?!? Horrible system. Anyway, once I logged in, THE STUPID AI CHATBOX WOULD BLOCK MY ACCESS TO EVERYTHING!!! I’m on vacation. This was absolutely, HORRIBLE. The camera itself is great, no issue but good god Ring, DO BETTER WITH YOUR CUSTOMER SUPPORT. The lady I spoke to was nice, BUT GET RID OF, OR UPDATE YOUR AI CHAT. Now time to go buy a new subscription so I can see who the heck was in my backyard while I’m away from my house…. This is unsettling.INITIAL POST:Long time ring user. I had a battery doorbell at my apartment for a while but after purchasing a home with a hardwired doorbell, I upgraded. This product is awesome. No battery in it, easy to hardwire and setup only took minutes. Great security upgrade that I can check up on my front patio whenever I’d like. For the money, it is well worth it especially on sale.Camera is 9/10 clarity. It is not crystal clear, but you can definitely see what is happening, and at a pretty good distance. The new update that gives you a description of what is happening during each alert is neat. 90% of the time it is 100% accurate. Small details like what I’m holding will be confused but it is great at distinguishing between people and vehicles.Do NOT expect to read license plates from more than roughly 20” maybe? I have my doorbell aimed towards the driveway and when I pull in, I can read plates but once my truck leaves the driveway it’s hard, but possible to read. Any further, not likely.I did have to upgrade my yearly subscription to “multiple devices” for $100/year but it is worth it. Ring is a great, domestic company.

Good picture quality upgrade from previous version!

I only have the Ring Wired Doorbell (2nd Generation) to compare to, but the 2k quality really blows the original out of the water, both in daytime and nighttime picture quality. The only downside, is that the camera seems to be a slightly narrower angle than the previous, I used to be able to see my mailbox to the left and a certain point in the street to the right, but not a huge dealbreaker. I also like that it can tell when the lawn crew are there and when a package is delivered. Overall I am happy with this purchase.Ver más

It works and good visibility!

No issues with hard wire connection. It did not connect to our 1938 home chime but able to connect chimes to echo dots via Alexa without issue. Would recommend!
