  Great TV, horrendous streaming.

  Outstanding color, great settings options, excellent TV. The streaming interface, however, is awful. I made sure to get the 2026 model with Amazon Fire TV, and it's horrendous. Slow, illogical, inconsistent. I'll be investing in an Apple TV console, as the Amazon Fire option, is not an option. How can they sell / market this kind of product? Great TV, be prepared to replace the native streaming system.Update, after a month of use. The TV is great. Color is awesome. But to amplify on my observations above, the builti in Fire TV is horrendous. As is the operation of the remote. I've used a Roku external streamer for years, and IT was slow. But Fire TV is exponentially worse. Slow scrolling, YouTube TV is impossible to maneuver through, unpredictable where an App is going to come up (where I left off, or somewhere else?). And the remote is ridiculous. "Home" button works some of the time, "back" button, the same. The Home button sometimes brings me to the home screen, but half the time it brings up the Settings menu. The "back" button works some of the time, but just as often, it's totally useless.Also, I've tried two "universal remotes," and neither one will work with this TV. A few of the functions work (like "off."), but neither has worked with any of the many built-in functions.So I feel kind of stuck. The TV picture is gorgeous (and the TCL soundbar is excellent), but Fire TV and the TCL remote are incredibly frustrating. Neither are ready for prime time. I find myself doing a lot of restarts of the TV ... the equivalent of "CTRL-ALT-DEL."Ver másVer menos

  Excellent tv and very smart!

  The picture quality on this TV is fantastic. It’s bright, sharp, and looks amazing in our living room. The setup was simple, and the Fire TV interface is really easy to navigate.One thing I didn’t fully realize before buying it is that it basically works like an Alexa. If you already have an Echo in the same room, they can both respond at the same time, which gets a little annoying. Fortunately, you can turn the TV’s Alexa voice activation off if you prefer.Other than that, I have zero complaints. Great picture, easy to use, and an excellent value for the money.Ver másVer menos

  WOW. Amazing picture and super easy setup.

  I was a little reluctant to buy TCL. The reviews are not as positive as some of the name brands. The TCL set had the right set of options for me at a price that was hard to beat, so I decided to give it a whirl.The setup was so simple. I took it out of the box and mounted it on my old stand. Connected my devices and I was ready to go. This took less than 30 minutes.I pushed power, the set came on, and it began to do an update. (I had used an Ethernet cable instead of wifi) When that finished it asked if I wanted to scan for digital channels and had me choose some options (Alexa, apps, etc.) with simple yes/no/later choices. Done. Most of my apps were ported over, although I did need to sign in to them.The picture really grabs you. Super clear and easily viewed from an angle. I had a 55 inch set prior to this so the 65 was a nice step up.The integration with Amazon is great and the digital channel guide is clear and easy to use.The sound is great too. On my old set I really needed the sound bar. On the TCL I don't think I'll use it unless I'm watching a movie.About the only negatives I have seen so far is that you really need to focus the remote on the sensor. If you casually point it in the general direction it may not work. The manual also contains almost no useful information.So far I'm delighted with the purchase.Ver másVer menos

  Great Picture Quality and Value

  This TCL TV has excellent picture quality, vibrant colors, and a clear display. The setup was quick and easy, and the smart TV features work smoothly. Overall, it is a great value for the price and I’m very satisfied with the purchase.

  Bad Local Array Dimming and PC Compatibility

  Bad local array dimming. Most of the zones are visible and you can see the outline. It is most noticeable at the center of the screen and bright settings. There are also artifacts around fast moving objects.It is a great TV on paper, TCL cheaped out on the local array dimming which is unfortunate due to slow pixel response times.There are some compatibility issues with PC with near constant flickering to black on HDMI port 2 (fine on port 1). Running an Nvidia 4070TI on windows 11. I don’t know if this is a QC issue or a software bug in the software.Only 2 of 4 connections actually support 144hz which is slightly frustrating.I would say that it is a great value for the price during prime day if these issues with picture quality were not present.Ver másVer menos

  Will not accept casting from another device!

  Installs easily with a beautiful picture and a lot of options.However, coordinating with my ring camera is a trial. When I've written a routine that is triggered by my ring camera to show it minimized on this television, it pops up on the screen and turns the TV off. I haven't been able to change that yet. I'm still working on it and will report back if I can succeed.It was also very hard to find a way to keep it from timing out after 5 minutes on pause. I finally managed to do that after hacking through all sorts of things, and I still don't know which one worked.The biggest disappointment is that there is no native casting function, so I had to add a Chromecast module to one of the HDMI ports. This is a major oversight and would have cost another star, except the rest of the television is so much better than anything I had before that I'm going to leave it at 4.Ver másVer menos
