  Great kit but tweezers are necessary

  Great quality kit. Only thing is it’s definitely difficult if you don’t already have tweezers for the ribbon cables. Would highly recommend ordering some before buying if you don’t. New shells look and feel great though!

  Phenomenal kit - How the Switch 2 should have shipped!

  I LOVE how these came out. I am a huge fan of this "smoke transparent" color. I was admittedly a bit hesitant reshelling my Switch 2 with it being relatively new, but I went ahead and did it anyways after noticing the stock shells already had small scratches on them somehow. This is the fourth or fifth set of shells I have purchased from eXtremeRate, so I am happy to see that over the years their quality as far as the kind of plastic they use has only been getting better.Install was a breeze, and was surprised to find that the second iteration of the Joy Cons are actually a bit easier to work with versus the first. Now that the Joy Cons are also completely symmetrical tech-wise, once you've re-shelled one Joy Con, you're capable of handling both. As always with new, expensive tech, just take some time and watch some tutorials. iFixit's teardown of the Joy Cons is also a wonderful resource for some high quality still images of the interior of the shell as well. Pro tip to also never use the supplied screw drivers or screws (I always toss them) and invest in something higher quality before tearing anything down. None of that is relevant to this review, but I just want to put that out there.My ONLY wish is that eXtremerate would have included black or transparent buttons instead of the skittles ones. Those colored buttons almost always go straight into the bin for me. I don't like how childish they look, and they stick out poorly when paired with the transparent colors.Ver másVer menos

  Makes my Switch 2 look unique

  The default look of the Switch 2 is boring. These shells do a great job of giving it a fun and unique look. All necessary tools are included in the kit and instalation wasn't very difficult, they have a very in depth guide on YouTube.

  Switch 2 joycon shell swap

  No lie pretty cool product, it really changes the look of my joycons 2. Pretty good quality too considering the price and doesn’t take very long to do the shell swap. 10/10 Would recommend if you want your joy ons to have a unique look.

  Cute and Easy Upgrade!

  I have done a few extreme rate upgrades in the past (switch 1 joycon swaps and two case swaps on steam decks) and these were probably the easiest install to do. I love how the clear case and buttons look.

  These shells look amazing. I will make some notes about it.To anyone wondering why the color coding on the D-pad is the way it is, it's for convenience when using single joycons and coordinating with friends to help them. I have a photo to show the color coding matches each other.Although tools and a video guide are provided, this isn't a simple 5-minute swap. When you are done swapping, be sure to test all of your buttons before adding the strip with adhesive on side to make sure it feels right. My A button was sticking the first time I was using it and the ZR gave a spongey feel rather than the click and sometimes worked. With minor adjustments it can work perfectly just take your time reassembling it.Ver másVer menos
