Reliable and Efficient for Van Life
Wow! I cannot say enough good things about the EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station Delta 3 Classic, 1024Wh 1800W AC.This is a story so buckle up. Several years ago I did a lot of research and purchased an Ecoflow River Mini. It was fussy and unreliable. When it worked, it was great but it would lose connection with my phone and had to be re-paired frequently, the A/C power would shut off, it would get overwhelmed if I plugged too many things in and have to be drained and charged up again. It was great with my 400W roof mounted solar panels on the top of my van, however. I could also daisychain it with a 200W Jackery for extra power. I was not a good caretaker of the battery and let it sit empty for a long period of time. It would not charge after that.I thought I would change to Jackery since I had the little one and did not do my research. Jackery doesn't daisychain, all the inputs for charging are different then Ecoflow (and my solar system) and the Jackerys were different sizes from each other. The new Jackery could not charge from my car 12v, even with an inverter and would not make use of my solar when it was pulling low wattage. It was basically a brick on my last road trip. I used my car 12v and the Jackery 200 for the trip. It just took up space and cost a lot of money to get compatible adapters and chargers. This summer, I decided to sell the 1 year old Jackery (and made most of my money back) then bought this Ecoflow. I am so glad I did. It has been super reliable the past two weeks in my van. The Bluetooth is flawless and the battery takes advantage of anything my solar panels give it. I have ran a portable fridge full-time without any loss of power as well as a rechargeable ceiling fan/light on one of the usb ports. I have been able to charge everything without over powering it. The only issue I've had is in regard to the weather. We had two days of clouds and rain. The battery could not get enough solar on day 2 to run the fridge overnight. I was able to find a bathroom with a plug in and charge it to 100% in about 45 minutes. That was just a regular plug in, not any kind of super fast charge. I did buy a 12v charger, just in case. I installed a heavy duty 12v port on my van and it gets just over 100w input from it, with the van running. If you were driving on a rainy day, for several hours, it would be a fine option but for staying put, it didnt charge fast enough. All in all, this was a great decision for me and my 3 weeks of summer van life. It will also be good for running some home things for a power outage. I will definitely take care of this one and never go back to Jackery.Ver másVer menos
