Helped me through a recent power outage
This power station (with *a lot* of power) has helped me through a recent power outage! It delivered like less than a week before the 30 hour outage that I had. But this lasted through it without any issues! Keeping things in my room charged and powered. I did recharge it to full halfway in the outage since I wasn’t sure how much longer the outage was going to last (more of topping it off)At full speed charging (the usual 1,200 watts not the super fast charging mode of 1,600 watts) the fan is very quiet and the battery backup doesn’t make much heatI have this connected to WiFi so I can control and monitor this remotely (this allowed me to keep an eye on power level when I physically wasn’t home along with estimated time as well)I haven’t yet taken this out with me for portable uses since I had to use this for an outage that occurred in a very short amount of time after getting the device (it really powered through it well)As for charging speed? From device power on to full charge, it took 1.5 hours from 33% to 100%. Maintaining 1,200 watts constantly throughout the charge. I do find it interesting I can adjust the charging speed as precise as 100 watts. So if I want exactly the 1000 watts sure. If I want to go as low as 100 watts sure. Anywhere in between? Sure! The app does mention lower charging wattages are silent (and a “quiet time” can be configured)The handles in the unit are built in to allow me to easily carry this around. It is not light but not overwhelmly heavy. I can carry this around with me. But I don’t think putting this in a backpack (if one is big enough) would be a good idea long term. It’s likely a bit too heavy for that (but again, 2Kwh of battery power isn’t going to be light. At least not at the moment in the current time)It does have 5 AC outlets that can be switched on in the app or by pressing the dedicated button for it. Two on the back and three on the front. It also has two usb-C and one usb-A on the front. (One usb-C allows for 100w of power usage while the other I think allows 20w and the type A port does 12W?)I have yet to give the solar feature of the battery a try as I do not yet have the solar panels. But I am very curious if I could run my AC outputs on solar if the battery is fully charged and I have AC plugged in (like could I offset my electrical usage by having solar plugged in?)Overall, I bought this unit to be almost a replacement to my current UPS since I wanted a higher capacity ups and a higher wattage ups but other actual ups options were quite pricy. This seemed to fit both.(In the app there is a “UPS” mode. Default. The device functions as a ups. Switching to battery the moment power is lost and then charging once power is restored. There’s other power modes like charging when the power is cheap and using battery when the power is pricy to save on electric bills and even a custom mode)Also in the app, there’s a function to configure how much I want to allow the battery to charge to and discharge to. Default it’s set to 1-100% but if I want to, I could restrict charging to 80% or 90% of capacity and discharge percentage to like 10% if I want to. Interesting feature. Useful for possibly prolonging the battery life if the battery feature isn’t used often.Also I almost forgot! The unit does track energy usage! Like you can see discharge and charge power usages in kWh including solar power usage as well (I don’t have solar so I haven’t been able to see the numbers here. Just AC power usage numbers) you can see power usage per day, week, month and I think year as well. Useful for tracking specific power usage (there’s a line graph as well!) :)I like this device. It’s simple, nice and can be controlled in the app. I currently do have my current APC ups plugged into the Anker solex battery as an extra buffer of power in case of anything (note, outputs do get disabled temporarily when doing firmware updates. But they don’t take long)Would I recommend this? 100%! It’s a simple, compact solution to power savings. I did think it might be funny to use this to charge my car for 20% of it’s battery since 120v charging would not exceed this device’s max power output :)(Also to note: if you have AC connected to it and you enable AC output on (it will stay on). The ports will be in pass through mode. So if the voltage of the input is low, the output will be low too. I think the battery might enable itself if the voltage of the input drops too low.
