Exceptionally clear image and strong security features

The Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Pro is a major upgrade for anyone who wants sharper front-door monitoring. The Retinal 4K video is impressively detailed, and the wide, head-to-toe view makes it easier to see visitors, packages, and activity near the entryway. The 10x Enhanced Zoom is useful for checking finer details at a distance, while the low-light and night-vision performance helps keep footage clear after dark. Two-way talk is clear and convenient for speaking with visitors, delivery drivers, or anyone at the door without opening it.Because it is hardwired, there is no battery to recharge, making it a good option for continuous use. Installation is straightforward if compatible doorbell wiring is already in place, but checking transformer power and Wi‑Fi signal before installation is important.Overall, this is an excellent high-end video doorbell for homeowners who want high-resolution video, reliable wired power, wide coverage, and more precise motion alerts. Ring lists a 1:1, 140° horizontal-by-140° vertical view, 2880 × 2880 Retinal 4K video, up to 10x Enhanced Zoom, and Audio+ two-way talk; some video history and smart-alert features require a Ring Protect subscription.Ver más

Great Features, Easy Installation (sort of)

The RING Wired Doorbell 4K Pro is the latest and greatest version to date. The picture quality is outstanding and the available features can do anything you would want from a video doorbell (more than I will ever need or use!)My only complaint is the availability of the latest documentation for this version. The provided QR Code with my unit took me to a web page with documentation for several Ring models, but the 4k Pro, 3rd Gen was NOT listed there. A search was unable to find the document. I ended up having to do a live chat with a representative to get a link to the proper location to find the installation instructions for this unit.It also turned out that my home’s installed doorbell, which is touted as being Ring compliant, was NOT compliant with the Pro and 3rd Gen models. I had to purchase an adaptor (not sold by Amazon) to make my doorbell work with this model. I did add a 3rd party “wedge” adaptor to achieve a 45° viewing angle based on the location of my doorbell button (see photo).Once I got all of that sorted out (it took a week or so to get it all put together), it took less than one hour to complete the installation, including adding the adaptor to the doorbell unit and wedge assembly to the outside wall. (see photos of completed install).Ring is known for its quality and reliability. So far, so good.5 STARS AND I DO RECOMMEND THIS ITEMI write honest reviews based on real life experience with each item to help others make informed purchases. I read reviews too, and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that you find this review helpful!Ver más

Great Upgrade

Definitely an upgrade after having my old Ring Doorbell for almost 10 years. This was super easy to install but you need to make sure that you have high enough voltage running to your doorbell. I have to buy a higher powered doorbell transformer before I could use the wired one- but once I did- it works fantastic . The clarity of the videos is so much better. I really like that it gives you a description of the recording and alerts- so you can decide if it’s worth watching. Have had for about a month now and have had no issues with it losing connectivity or power! Probably could have gotten a little cheaper somewhere else, but bought it here anywayVer más

Ring Doorbell Doesn’t Get Any Better!

I love this new Ring doorbell cam! I replaced an earlier version camera, and the installation was easy. The instructions are online, linked to by QRC. They are easy peesy to follow. And the camera is spectacular! Its 4K picture quality is the best I’ve seen from a security camera. The unit came with an angled block that enabled me to turn the camera so that it not only picks up people standing at the door, but also movement on the walkway leading to my front door. And the picture quality of these more remote shots is also outstanding. This doorbell camera offers everything to like!Ver más

Serious 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Issues Despite Excellent Performance on 5 GHz

I purchased the Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Pro as an upgrade from my previous Ring doorbell and unfortunately had to return it because of persistent connectivity and video problems. The short version: when connected to my eero Pro 7 mesh network on 2.4 GHz, the doorbell would remain online but its network speed could collapse to around 0.x Mbps, causing Live View to become unavailable and video/motion recording to become unreliable. When it automatically switched to another eero node on 5 GHz, speed immediately increased to 11–17 Mbps, Live View became fast, and videos were crystal clear. When it later moved back to the 2.4 GHz eero node, the problems returned. The doorbell would remain online and report normal power, but Live View would intermittently become completely unavailable. During these periods, motion events could also be missed, recordings could fail, and the reported network speed would drop extremely low—sometimes to around 0.x Mbps. Interestingly, the doorbell could still respond to button presses and remained listed as online.I did extensive troubleshooting before concluding that the unit needed to be replaced. The doorbell was powered by a new Ring 16V/30VA transformer and consistently reported Power Level 1. I also rewired the included Chime Kit Mini according to Ring's instructions and verified all connections. Power cycling and software reboots did not reliably solve the problem. The doorbell also successfully captured snapshots every 30 seconds throughout the night without interruption, which made an intermittent power problem very unlikely. My home network is an eero Pro 7 mesh system. When the doorbell was connected to my ground-floor eero on 2.4 GHz, its reported speed could fall to around 0.2 Mbps, and Live View and video performance became unreliable. This was despite an RSSI around -65 dBm and numerous other devices—including other Ring cameras—working normally through the same eero. That particular eero serves approximately 36 devices without comparable problems. The most revealing test happened when the doorbell automatically roamed to a different eero access point and connected over 5 GHz. Its reported speed immediately climbed first to around 11 Mbps and eventually to approximately 17 Mbps. Live View loaded almost instantly and recorded video became crystal clear. Nothing about the doorbell's electrical installation or settings had changed.Unfortunately, the doorbell later roamed back to the ground-floor eero on 2.4 GHz, and the problems immediately returned. This makes me suspect either a problem with this particular unit's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi performance or a compatibility/firmware issue involving Ring and eero. I can't conclusively determine which, so I'm returning this unit and replacing it with another one to see whether the behavior is reproducible. What makes this particularly disappointing is that Ring and eero are both Amazon companies. A premium Ring doorbell should work reliably with an eero mesh network, especially when other Ring cameras and dozens of other devices operate normally on the same network. Having a flagship Ring doorbell become unreliable depending on whether it happens to associate with 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz is not acceptable at this price point. When the 4K Pro was connected properly over 5 GHz, the image quality and Live View performance were excellent. Unfortunately, I can't rely on a doorbell that may become effectively unusable simply because it roams back to a 2.4 GHz connection.I hope the replacement behaves differently. If it does, I'll update this review, because that would point toward a defective individual unit rather than a broader Ring/eero compatibility problem.

Can we get a variety of outdoor chimes please?

Pros:This was purchased during a sale so yay! Installation was easy. The app seems great. The camera is clear and the audio is crisp. You can select from a lot of different interior chimes. Which is fun.Cons:My Nest doorbell had different outdoor chimes (The noise guests hear when they push the button.) for the holidays and Ring does not. How hard would it be to create different sounds the guests hear when they push the button? Neat did it. Why can’t Ring? At this price I have no idea why there aren’t options.Ver más
