Nice upgrade! Zero issues.

Coming from the Pro 2 model, this Pro 3rd generation is a great upgrade. Installation was straightforward with zero issues and I suspect some folks having problems are having them due to operator error, not understanding and having a grasp on the instructions or simply a weak connection point for the WiFi. And since I always read and research things like this before purchasing I was well aware of it not working on the current mechanical doorbell chime. That’s why they include the little mini chime to connect in your old doorbell chime. My one and only criticism is on this mini chime. It’s pretty thin sounding but functions properly and you always have the option of simply connecting the two wires within your mechanical chime to complete the power circuit going to the Ring doorbell and using the chime pro chimes which simply plug into an outlet and provide indoor chimes anywhere in your home you want. I have one in the living room and one out back on the lanai and can be heard very well. . A little research and watching how to videos tell you everything you need to know and what to expect. Some complaints expressed here in reviews are just a case of not knowing what you’re getting and how it works. The daylight view is not significantly better than the Pro 2 but still very good and the zoom is a bit sharper and clearer. The biggest improvement I see is at nighttime where the little bit of light from my front door lights makes the nighttime view look almost as bright and clear as the daytime view is. All in all it’s working flawlessly and I can highly recommend. Just read and research and watch videos so you can understand what it is and how it works.Ver más

Excellent Upgrade from My Older Ring Wired Doorbell Pros

I recently upgraded from my older Ring Wired Doorbell Pros, and I’m so glad I did. The improvements are noticeable right away. The video quality is sharper, the motion detection is more responsive, and the overall performance feels faster and more reliable.Installation was straightforward since I already had wired Ring setups, and the new doorbells look sleek and modern on my front and back entryway. I also appreciate the clear two-way audio and the instant motion alerts that let me know when someone is at my door or when a package arrives.One of the biggest advantages of having wired doorbells is never having to worry about charging batteries. The Ring app made setup simple, and everything was up and running in just a few minutes.Overall, this has been an excellent upgrade. If you’re still using an older Ring Wired Doorbell Pro and wondering whether it’s worth replacing, I definitely think it is. Very good doorbell camera! I had previously bought and returned two other brands. The first one wouldn’t connect to the Tuya app, and the second one wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi. However, the Ring Doorbell worked perfectly with no issues at all.The picture and video quality are clear on my phone. It also detects motion and sends notifications directly to my phone. Installation was easy and straightforward.Overall, I’m very happy with this doorbell camera and would definitely recommend it.Ver más

Serious 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Issues Despite Excellent Performance on 5 GHz

I purchased the Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Pro as an upgrade from my previous Ring doorbell and unfortunately had to return it because of persistent connectivity and video problems. The short version: when connected to my eero Pro 7 mesh network on 2.4 GHz, the doorbell would remain online but its network speed could collapse to around 0.x Mbps, causing Live View to become unavailable and video/motion recording to become unreliable. When it automatically switched to another eero node on 5 GHz, speed immediately increased to 11–17 Mbps, Live View became fast, and videos were crystal clear. When it later moved back to the 2.4 GHz eero node, the problems returned.The doorbell would remain online and report normal power, but Live View would intermittently become completely unavailable. During these periods, motion events could also be missed, recordings could fail, and the reported network speed would drop extremely low—sometimes to around 0.x Mbps. Interestingly, the doorbell could still respond to button presses and remained listed as online.I did extensive troubleshooting before concluding that the unit needed to be replaced. The doorbell was powered by a new Ring 16V/30VA transformer and consistently reported Power Level 1. I also rewired the included Chime Kit Mini according to Ring's instructions and verified all connections. Power cycling and software reboots did not reliably solve the problem. The doorbell also successfully captured snapshots every 30 seconds throughout the night without interruption, which made an intermittent power problem very unlikely.My home network is an eero Pro 7 mesh system. When the doorbell was connected to my ground-floor eero on 2.4 GHz, its reported speed could fall to around 0.2 Mbps, and Live View and video performance became unreliable. This was despite an RSSI around -65 dBm and numerous other devices—including other Ring cameras—working normally through the same eero. That particular eero serves approximately 36 devices without comparable problems.The most revealing test happened when the doorbell automatically roamed to a different eero access point and connected over 5 GHz. Its reported speed immediately climbed first to around 11 Mbps and eventually to approximately 17 Mbps. Live View loaded almost instantly and recorded video became crystal clear. Nothing about the doorbell's electrical installation or settings had changed.Unfortunately, the doorbell later roamed back to the ground-floor eero on 2.4 GHz, and the problems immediately returned.This makes me suspect either a problem with this particular unit's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi performance or a compatibility/firmware issue involving Ring and eero. I can't conclusively determine which, so I'm returning this unit and replacing it with another one to see whether the behavior is reproducible.What makes this particularly disappointing is that Ring and eero are both Amazon companies. A premium Ring doorbell should work reliably with an eero mesh network, especially when other Ring cameras and dozens of other devices operate normally on the same network. Having a flagship Ring doorbell become unreliable depending on whether it happens to associate with 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz is not acceptable at this price point.When the 4K Pro was connected properly over 5 GHz, the image quality and Live View performance were excellent. Unfortunately, I can't rely on a doorbell that may become effectively unusable simply because it roams back to a 2.4 GHz connection.I hope the replacement behaves differently. If it does, I'll update this review, because that would point toward a defective individual unit rather than a broader Ring/eero compatibility problem.

WELL-WORTH The Investment!

I'm not sure why we didn't have a Ring doorbell before, as most of my family already have this with additional security.It wasn't until we had an intruder recently that made this purchase not only necessary, but a solid investment well-worth the price.The video and sound is fantastic on this model, and very easy to identify every visitor. I purchased the annual monitoring, that can contact emergency medical, fire and police with a touch of a button on the phone app.The system identifies what folks are doing (ex: An Amazon delivery person is putting a package on the porch AND A female is carrying a bag outside the house). It's really descriptive, and the camera allows you to name face photos (like a caregiver or family member who visits frequently).I highly recommend this item!!Ver más
