Great value for a very versatile Multi-meter, oscilliscope, temperature, and oscilloscope

I am really pleased with this Meter! It is not perfect, but it is fairly intuitive and you get all of and more of your money's worth.The case and accessories it came with are really nice. One thing I would say it is missing is a thermocouple to do external measurements. I can confirm that this works, I have a thermocouple from another meter which I plugged into this meter and it did read it; you could likely get a generic thermocouple to bananna plug for DMM for a few dollars, it is a great addition for measuring things like inside an oven.About me, so you have an idea of my background when I am commenting on this meter - I have training in electronics and have worked in the field for decades although my work isn't all that diverse and it is primarily with DC. I have a more limited amount of experience working with an oscilliscope and function generator. With that said, it took me about 30-60 minutes to get comfortable with this unit "within my pay grade".I will note that right out of the gates I had some issues with a very simple application, feeding the wave formThis device is pretty popular, I highly recommend that you hit youtube, there are some really good videos that are very helpful. The manual is useful, but not as good as watching the YT vid's. I acutally uploaded the manual into copilot and then asked it questions about the applications I wanted to use on the scope, I think this worked out better than simply trying to read the manual.I did my homework before ordering this meter, and found lots of reviews, all indicating this meter is a very capable unit and a great value; all of my work with it aligns perfectly with those opinions as well.I get several hours of use on a charge, and it seems to last a bit longer when I am not running the frequency generator constantly.Most everything that was claimed, is what I've found so rather than go through the long list of great things this meter does, I'll point out a few things I found that could be improved on.While I do have access to a calibration lab, our multi process calibrator was out for its own calibration, but I did use a BI 1687B power supply and compared this 2C53T with a calibrated Keysight 34461A 6.5 digit precision multimeter found the DC voltage between .8v and 12.5v to exceed the specification of .5% by a factor of 10. While this is not an official calibration check, it is a good indication that the accuracy of the unit I received is better than the specification.There are a few things that I think could be improved (not enough to deduct from the 5 star review) but worth mentioning-The "kick stand" on the back is hard to get a hold of and open it up; they could make a little bigger opening to get your finger to grip it.The BNC connectors on the top are recessed which is fine and provides good protection for them, but be aware that if you have a BNC you want to connect to it that has an overmolding on it, it probably wont fit in.The frequency reading is not very good, you have to have a nearly perfect sine wave to get frequency. I think this is a limitation of the unit, and I have mostly tested this using the frequency generator which has pretty low resolution, it might work better when measuring a cleaner signal from an external source. The frequency generator is pretty granular, you can see the steps and I think this trips up the frequency measurment component. You also cannot choose where it measures the frequency, similar to setting the trigger's level.I also find the AUTO button doesn't work very well when looping the frequency generator back into an input. When I fist got this and was working my way through learning it, I could not get the generator's output to read on an input channel, I eventually did a factory reset (two or three times) and that seemed to clear things up. I might have done something to cause that issue, I'm not sure.Operating the unit is fairly intuitive although I think it could be improved as well. There are a few many features which the buttons and markings are not clear. This is importantFor example, the "select" button to toggle through 3 modes such as setting the vertical and horizontal zoom. My problem here is that the icons they used for which of these three modes do not make any sense to me at all; well, one of them does, it is marked with a V and H which are the vertical and horizontal scaling per division, but the other two modes replace the V and H with arrows which I have not clue what they mean so I just have to move through them and press the cursor left/right/up/down to see which mode is which. As I recall, these modes adjust the horizontal and vertical position (DC shift and trigger postion offset left or right) on the screen, and the other I think is the trigger DC level. I can deal with this but it could be better. When I am using the meter regularly, I can remember which is which, but after a few days of no use, I'm back to the guessing game.One thing to watch out for is the AUTO button. Long pressing this button will cause the unit to go into a self calibration mode which takes a few minutes. I found that you don't have to press the AUTO button for very long to accidentally enter this self calibration mode. If you do accidentally enter this mode, you will want to disconnect any inputs.Summary - This is a very useful multi meter at a graet price that meets, if not exceeds expectations. I would definitly replace it with a similar unit if I lost or broke this one.

Ours was a Tektronix that weighed roughly two hundred pounds, lived on a rolling cart, and served the entire electrical and computer engineering student body during the exact same weeks everyone's projects came due. You signed up. You waited. You prayed the person ahead of you was efficient. And that magnificent beast, for all its glory, could do one thing: it was a scope. If you also needed a meter and a signal source, that was three separate pilgrimages to three separate pieces of equipment.The FNRSI 2C53T is a scope, a true-RMS multimeter, and a signal generator, all in one in one, for under a hundred dollars!That two-hundred-pound Tektronix only wished it had this thing's versatility. If you ever suffered through an EE lab rationed for equipment, this review is aimed straight at your scar tissue.Here's what you're actually getting, and it's genuinely hard to believe at the price.=============OSCILLOSCOPE=============As an oscilloscope, it's a 2-channel, 50MHz-bandwidth instrument sampling up to 250MS/s — more than enough to chase down real faults and read real signals cleanly. One-key AUTO setup gets you a usable trace fast, and it carries the features you'd want for actual work: waveform storage and playback, FFT analysis, X-Y mode, and cursor measurements. For troubleshooting logic, automotive signals, power supplies, hobby electronics, and teaching, this is a shocking amount of capability to hold in your palm.===============RMS MULTIMETER===============As a multimeter, it's a 19999-count true-RMS meter — and that "true RMS" matters, because it means honest readings on the messy, non-sinusoidal waveforms real circuits actually produce. It runs off a 3000mAh USB-C rechargeable battery, so it's genuinely portable, not tethered to a bench. And it arrives as a kit: a nice set of probes and test leads, and a carrying case to keep it all together. For once, "everything you need in the box" is literally true.It’s well built, easy to use with a minimum of background instruction (if you are a techie), and has a carrying case, too.============THE VERDICT============Let me be fair about the ceiling, because a review that only gushes is worthless.This instrument is not going to replace a high-end bench scope for serious high-frequency or high-precision work, and it shouldn't be asked to.A 50MHz handheld has honest limits.But that's not who this is for. This is for the student, the hobbyist, the field tech, the automotive troubleshooter, and every over-scheduled EE who just needs to see the signal now; for those people, the value here borders on the absurd.My only real complaint is chronological in nature. This thing arrived on the scene about forty years too late to save me from the rolling cart and the sometimes functioning scope of the engineering lab!If you're in school now, or helping someone who is, buy it and hand it to them. You'll be sparing them a very specific kind of suffering I remember all too well.I’d not hesitate to order it again.

FNRSI 2C53T Handheld Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Function Generator

This review is for a FNIRSI 2C53T handheld digital oscilloscope, multi-meter and function generator. This is a versatile sophisticated device with many functions and settings. The FNIRSI 2C53T has been available since late 2024. I have used electronic test equipment on an almost daily basis for many years and I am reviewing this device for quality and functionality within the limitations of the device. I tested this meter for several hours.Pros: The product description on Amazon is accurate and it has a lot of useful specifications and information on the device and it’s functionality. The FNIRSI 2C53T is very portable and comes in a nice hard case that fits all of the accessories. The appearance and build quality of the meter is excellent. The screen is crystal clear and it is visible outside. The manual is good and it is an essential read. The latest firmware was already installed on this meter.Multi-meter - The auto-ranging multi-meter has all of the usual functions. The meter response is fast and it works as expected on all functions. The included meter probes are approximately 46” long are sharp and appear to be gold plated.Oscilloscope: The oscilloscope function works as expected. Unlike some competitive handheld oscilloscopes, this is a 50Mhz two channel scope that includes two probes. You will need to learn how to compensate each probe, a one time adjustment.Function Generator – This device has a function generator with several waveforms with adjustable parameters. It is limited but works as expected.Cons: The FNIRSI 2C53T is a sophisticated portable device. As such, the buttons have many functions – You must read the manual and learn how to get the results you expect.Overall: The FNIRSI 2C53T is an outstanding low priced hand held oscilloscope & multimeter. Decent Option

As an electrical engineer, I bought this as a field unit to avoid hauling my bench scope to site visits, and it has exceeded expectations. The 3-in-1 combination of a 50MHz two channel scope, 19999 count multimeter, and DDS signal generator covers most troubleshooting scenarios I run into. The 250MSa/s sampling rate is legitimate and captures the waveforms I need for control circuit and power diagnostics.In actual use, the auto function locks onto signals quickly, the screen is bright and readable, and the interface is intuitive enough that I rarely need the manual. The multimeter mode is accurate against my bench Fluke for voltage and resistance checks. The 3000mAh battery easily lasts a full workday of intermittent use, and it charges over USB-C which is convenient.The value for money is remarkable when a comparable handheld from the established test equipment brands runs many times the price. The size fits in a tool bag pocket, and the included case and probes round out the package. This will not replace a bench scope for precision work, but as a portable diagnostic tool it is outstanding.Ver más

More toy than tool

I have the benefit of having a 2C23T kicking around, and unfortunately a lot of the issues with that model have not been addressed here.- The o-scope probes this ships will are frankly bad. Like broken connections bad. In one of the images I've attached you can see some drop out that occurs that goes away if you bend the cable juuuust right.- Bad o-scope probes would be less of a problem if the openings around the BNC connection were large enough to accept higher quality probes from other vendors...- The interface is clunky and unintuitive. If anything it's gotten worse since the 2C23T. I'm assuming different teams worked on developing the Multimeter, Oscilloscope, and Function Generator features and as a result navigation varies wildly between them. Sometimes the left arrow navigates you back, sometimes it's the menu button, and other times its holding the menu button for more than two seconds, but less than three. The other modes will of course register these key strokes as a completely different action.Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to give this to a student who was just starting to learn about electronics as a hands on resource for playing around with electrical concepts. Outside of that, like any multitool it's doing many things poorly. FNIRSI has blown me away with some of their products, but this one doesn't hit the mark.Ver más
