Better than I expected!

I previously had a Vizio tv whose speakers were actually fine without a sound bar, so when I had to replace it, I was thrown into a mad rush to find an affordable sound bar so that I didn't feel like I was listening through a tin can! I looked at a couple of well-known brands, but was disappointed to find that none of them had an equalizer. And the reviews were so mixed that I couldn't fathom shelling out excess money for something that had only presets (voice, music, and movie modes)! So I looked at a few off-brands here on Amazon and this sound bar seemed to have the least negative reviews, and no reviews mentioned that dreaded 'tin can' sound. I decided to give it a try, especially since you can separate it and use it as tower speakers.My very first impression was that the sound bar was heavy! Granted, I had never used one before and had never lifted one, so it may actually be a normal weight. I first set them up on my kitchen table to gauge the size and sound. I used the Bluetooth to connect my mp3 player to the speakers and started trying out the volume and presets of the equalizer. To my ears, the Voice preset is awful...but it must be said that I have never liked that type of sound anyway. It's a sensory thing for me. It makes me cringe. Next I tried the Music preset and it was pretty good! It's not as nice as my old 200 watt Panasonic stereo with subwoofer and heavy bass, but for just over $60 (which is a fraction of what my Panny cost years ago), you certainly get a decent enough sound. I think whatever the quality of the media is, is what you'll get through these speakers. I had some older songs that weren't at the highest bitrate so they sounded a tad poorer - but that's how they always sound. Higher bitrates produced a clearer, fuller sound. Movie mode really brought the 'fullness'! It tones down certain parts of songs, but its not unlistenable by any means. It's definitely LOUDER than Music mode preset! Honestly, I don't know which mode I prefer for music. It almost depends on the song! One thing to note is unlike other off-brands I had read about on here, this sounds bar DOES play sound through BOTH sides when you separate it into tower speakers! I read some reviews of other sound bars that said it only echoed through the other side. Not this one. There is definitely sound on the right side as well as the left. Are the speakers a full 100 watts? Perhaps. I have no tools to test that. But they DO go very loud, and when paired with an mp3 player, you can get it even louder using the volume controls on both the mp3 player and speakers. They do get a bit crackly if you go too high, but that can happpen with most speakers, I think.Next I hooked them up to my tv through the HDMI ARC port. If you do this, your tv remote can control the sound bar (speakers). It was very different to my ears at first because I was so used to my older Vizio sound. But after a few hours I got used to it and now my ears find it normal. It is absolutely an improvement to the tv speakers! No 'tin can' sound! I kept them as tower speakers so there's one on each side of my tv. They are a nice height, measuring a little more than half of the height of my 40" Hisense. I keep them on Movie mode because otherwise I tend to get obsessive with trying to find "the best" sound, lol. Though I haven't done this yet, I like that I could sit here an Bluetooth my mp3 player to the speakers with just a remote control! I'm not crazy about the colourful LED lights on the top of the speakers, but you CAN turn them off. Also, if the speakers don't have sound coming through them for a certain period of time (like if you've paused a video for too long), the speakers will shut off. That's probably the one thing that drives me nuts, lol, but I can live with it. It's a minor inconvenience! But it's a good feature to have, as well, so you don't leave them on when you're not using them.Overall I have to give this product 5 stars so far for the price, functionality, ease of set up, the fact I can use them as tower speakers (so I didn't have to spend more money to get a different tv stand!), the decent sound so I don't lose my mind... :)I don't know how long they will last but I'll be happy to get a few years out of them. (hopefully they'll last even longer than that, though)Ver más

Movie (and any) night just got better!

There were many options during prime days but this one checked a few boxes for me. I really like that you can use it as one long soundbar or split it into two separate speakers with the included bases. It's nice to have the option depending on how you want to set up your TV area.The sound is clear and much better than the TV speakers. Voices are easy to hear, and music and movies sound fuller without having to turn the volume way up.The LED lights are a fun touch and give it a modern look without being over the top. There are three lighting modes: flicker with the sound of the program, a static color or transitioning through multiple colors. You can change it up based on your mood.Setup was quick and easy, and everything worked right out of the box. There are a multiple connection options so should work with most tv’s. There is a Bluetooth option as well.Overall, it’s larger than some others on the market but if you're looking for an affordable soundbar that's flexible, sounds good, and looks nice, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try.Ver más

Great affordable versatile speakers.

Love the versatility of these speakers. You can stand them up next to your tv or connect both speakers and lay them down like most regular sound bars. You can also mount these speakers too. The lights (multi colors) are a wonderful touch. They blink according to the sounds. It comes with its own remote. Great value for your money. Wasn’t expensive at all. Quick and easy to set up. Sound is actually amazing for the low amount I paid.Ver más

Make sure the lights work after you power it off.

Update.......as i was not able to get a replacement and no refund and have not heard back from this seller on this issue now i have to give this a one star becouse now not only do the lights not work anymore neither does one speaker anymore. It is too aggravating not to get customer service even after the 30 day window for returns or replacements. Would be nice to have a replacement. Even when it was requested the very first time within a day of not receiving the order to begin with and was told there was none in stock. I should have took the refund at that time but i waited it out to see. My bad definitely wont do this again for sure. Too bad my daughter really liked this too. My daughters loss for your information. Bought this March 31st. As soon as I got it the package was damaged but there was no damage to the speaker visually. Plugged it in and paired it with my TV and the sound is amazing. The different selection for different sound settings works very well. Remote is not all that great but it does work. The lights on it were working at first but when I turned it off to move it to its permanent location and plugged it in the lights would not come back on and to this day still don't work. Very disappointed in that for that was the reason we got this for our daughter was becouse she liked the lights. Other than that it's a very decent speaker. Would like to get it replaced but don't see that happening I guess. Disappointed I would give it a better rating.Ver más

Better remote and instructions

This soundbar is lovely and sounds fantastic, but my issue is that the remote control and the manual are useless; you have to keep pressing buttons to get the desired sound. I had to keep pressing the button to get to the right input after hooking this up in a variety of ways, but nothing was working until I was able to get to the optical outlet. The remote control is useless; it should be improved to read for the appropriate problems or to access the appropriate input. It is useless to press the button and not be able to see what input you are at. On my other sound bar, it displays when you are in optical mode or when you are in another input. Maybe make it to where you can see which input you are at on the sound bar. Other than that, the sound is great.Ver más

Nice sound bar

The small sound bar is very easy to setup and connect with Bluetooth is very smooth. Sound is great for a small speaker like this. The speaker can be setup horizontal or perpendicular. Sound quality is great for either TV or phone for movie or music playing.
