It worked straight out of the box and gave me what i wanted
it gave me the extra ports that my Macbook pro m1 needed. still need to figure out the use of the 4PD port as no peripheral wants to work in that plug, and lighting seemed a not to either. need to do some more testing

solves the problem, works well
works great. I have two USB-C ports on my laptop and I need one for an external display. I plug this hub in the other port then I can power the laptop with a USB-C cable from wall charger to the hub and have the open ports on the hub for hard drives and other stuff. super usefulVer másVer menos

Stopped working within 2 months of purchase
Stopped working within 2 months of purchase. The ports no longer transfer data and do not work with my external either hard drives I connected, I am just going to look at buying an actual docking station for my external hard drives for my laptop at this point. Acer has reached out and sent a new one.Ver másVer menos

Limited power delivery and cable design wasn’t practical for me
I ended up returning this hub because it didn’t work the way I expected for my setup.The biggest issue was the power delivery. Unless you connect an external power source, the USB-C ports end up sharing the available power, which caused some of my devices to not get enough power or behave inconsistently. For lighter accessories it may be okay, but for more demanding devices it became frustrating.I also didn’t like the built-in cable design. The cable felt too rigid and was shorter than I expected, which made it harder to position the hub where I actually wanted it on my desk.Functionality-wise, it technically worked, but the overall experience wasn’t practical enough for my needs. I was expecting better performance and flexibility considering the price.Installation and setup are simple, but because of the power limitations and cable design, I ultimately decided to return it.Ver másVer menos

Updated - Absolutely awesome, if it would have only worked longer than one day and this one did!
This is an update to my original review. The first one had a few issues of which are in the original review at the bottom of this one. I was sent a replacement that works! It does exactly what I needed, data transfer with USB C support, nothing else. No there is no video capability, but there are so many hubs and docking stations out there that do have that capability it became a problem in my configuration. I have more video connections than I could ever use, but was left high and dry on USB C. I also use a wheel device and external keypad in my workflow that wouldn't work with another product I tried. It works with this just fine. It also is the first part of a chain linking two other hubs together with the first product I tried at the end of that chain. The price...it solved a problem with it being the only solution I could find and is one of the less costly parts of my entire setup as well leaving me more room for expansion. I would call that a bargain.This was exactly what I needed, did exactly what I needed it to do for one whole day. The second day is when things went whacky. I couldn't access any of the connected drives which at that moment there were three. So, I shut everything down and just tried unplugging everything and then plugging it back in. Start the computer back up and nothing. Once again, I shut everything down and swapped cords around this time starting in the ports I hadn't used. What were in the new ports worked, the one drive that was in one of the others didn't work. What's kind of odd is the third problem port. sometimes will work if I plug something in while with everything on, but it's not seen on a reboot. It's built well and is really the best solution I have found for my setup. I gave it 3 stars when as it is now, doesn't deserve any, but they are sending me a replacement. A fully working version of this, that works longer than one day and hopefully for a long period of time is definitely a 5 star buy. Hoping this was just a fluke. Once I get the replacement and if it performs as it should I will update this review to where it should be. If not, I will downgrade it to also where it should be.Ver másVer menos
