Nice budget router - time to upgrade
Nice basic router has good range. Before I had to use an extender, not anymore. Easy to setup. Works with the Nighhawk app. But if you log on with a browser on a computer using it's local 192.168.1.x Address, there are a lot more admin options that are not in the nighthawk app. Not wifi 7, but no compatability issues with this router.Ver másVer menos

Great router, great price
For the price you get a lot. I wish I had thought of replacing my Spectrum router 3 years ago when I started paying 10.00 a month for it. This works just as well or better.

Good Router
Good router for a small apt. Compatible with Comcast network. I paired it with Hitron modem. Set up was easy. I’m a senior lady I just read the instructions how to set up the router.

Works as advertised
Works well enough for me, a single user using one thing at a time. For more intensive use, a WiFi-7 is what you should be looking for.With excellent WiFi signal quality running at 5GHz and a 580Mbs optical modem (running at that speed) I get a wireless connection speed of 270Mbs or so. 2.4GHz is not better. Direct connect (cabled) is of course faster.It is as good as I expected. It's been running for a couple of months now with no problems.Ver másVer menos

Netgear only supports these for 3 months, after that, customers must pay for phone support.
Warning: this failed 7 months later after purchase. All my devices began to randomly drop the wifi connection, only to reconnect a few minutes later. It was maddening to troubleshoot because 1) intermittent tech problems are the most difficult to diagnose and 2) I never suspected any router from a reputable company would fail after only 7 months.After two visits from my ISP's technicians who found nothing wrong with their service nor their router, I called Netgear. Netgear's hardware warranty is only good for 3 months. After that, customers who want phone support from Netgear must buy a service plan costing either $98 for one year or $169 for two years. It's pretty unethical to sell a low quality product that's prone to failure, then when that product fails, charge the customer 2x - 3x the price of the product in order to get phone support.At that point, of course I abandoned Netgear and bought a new Eero router for the same price as the Netgear one. The Eero has been working perfectly right from day 1.Be aware of Netgear's business ethics before buying from them.Ver másVer menos

Quality Netgear product, easy set up
I just switched phone and Internet provider. When I signed up, they didn’t tell me I needed a router and when they told me they were going to charge me 10 extra dollars a month for one I decided to purchase a router. I was extremely pleased that they had this one on sale and when I put it in my cart, I got an additional $10 off so by buying this I saved $80 over the next year. I was extremely pleased at how easy it was to set up how compact it is as compared to the providers router. I have a difficult time with electronics because I am 72 and did not grow up with electronics and have not had a lot of experience with them, but this was so easy to do with the instructions that they give you on your phone app to coordinate the set up. I had it done within 10 minutes. I am giving this five stars ahead of time because I know Netgear is a very good brand and because of the quality of the equipment and speed of installation. It has a much stronger signal than the one the Internet provider wanted me to rent from them. It comes with all the necessary cables and instructions where to hook up each one. I just tested my Internet and it works perfect. I would definitely recommend this Netgear router.Ver másVer menos

Simple setup with Netgear app/Strong coverage
Bought this NETGEAR Nighthawk to avoid paying Spectrum for a router. If you're a Spectrum customer, this router works with the Spectrum modem. It arrived this morning and after 20 minutes it's up and running. We live in a one floor, 1500 square foot condo. Coverage is excellent throughout on 10 devices. The router is also small and fits nicely on our bedroom dresser.What I'm most impressed with is the setup and NETGEAR app. Download the NETGEAR app to your phone using a QR code provided on the instruction sheet. After establishing a NETGEAR account follow the prompts. This initial setup tutorial is fairly boiler plate, what sets this app apart is how it responds to issues. For example, if your router fails to connect on the first attempt, as mine did, it tells you precisely which settings to change on your phone to correct the issue. And these settings changes solved the problem in all three cases that occurred during my set up. I've never experienced this level of intuitive app support. I won't pretend to offer any review of the technical capabilities of the router, definitely outside my bandwidth, but if you're like me, comfortable with using technology, but needing guidance to navigate setups, this is a great product. The phone app is also easy to navigate and relatively self explanatory. To demonstrate, I ran a speed test from the phone app. It's way easier than using the settings function on your device. Download speed is 113.72 Mbps, Upload is 12.07 Mbps and Ping is 15.0 Ms. Do I fully understand what these mean, no, but with a small amount of research I could if issues arise.Bottom line, I'm so happy this product was easy to setup and am very pleased with the value. For a few months rental cost on my Spectrum Router, I avoid paying a lifetime monthly fee. I will leave it to others to debate the merits of the technical functions of this router. There is no debate in my opinion on the simplicity of setup and functionality.Ver másVer menos

Happy with purchase
Works as it should, no issues, I had a hard time setting up but I bought a used one, since then , it's been perfect. Oh yes , I had to get a modem, this does not include the modem

Fairly cheap, works all right
I bought this for my daughter's small school dorm room. Works fairly well and never had any issue for 2 semesters. Initial setup was unnecessarily confusing, which I think is quite common for Netgear routers. Was well priced and works well!!
