Works great! When it does.
So far it works almost perfect when it works. I want to start this review by adding a quick note that I may have received a printer that was either mismanufactured or had some quality control issues. That being said, things were good until they weren't.Shipping and delivery are the item was as promised by prime. Unboxing and setting up the printer possibly took about 30 minutes total. It seems like the unboxing took a little longer due to the packaging being excellent. Putting a pieces together. Possibly took about 10 minutes at most. Once set up the device did itself. Seem to handle that very well and with very little noise and now enclosure. The touch screen seems a bit finicky and requires Force rather than tap. I would say that this may be the weakest link on the device, but it's definitely better than a bamboo version of the screen. I was able to crank out several dozen prints with about 90% accuracy and completion as with any other 3D printer learning, the nuances of the software can be a little frustrating. However, if you're used to playing with orca slicer or any other slicer, you eventually get your attached within a couple hours. I was able to build an enclosure without issues and install the camera as well. I would say that the cable from the camera to the touch screen appears to be a bit short.I get to the part where things just stopped working.The printer had been properly hustling for about 300 hours when at the commencement of a new print with auto leveling set. It was a large print, the nozzle and extruder system hit the leveling bed which caused some major catastrophic damage. The device allowed the nozzle and print bed to etch on each other and eventually fuse. The print bed has gold flaking material which eventually ended on all the components of the printer, including the belt drives and the the extruder system. The odd part about it is that the printer never stopped attempting to print during this process. I just happened to notice a noise level that was not consistent with the previous 290 hours of printing. The only thing that would stop it was unplugging the device. Since then I've been in contact with flashforge support which has been a dream to work with. I have a tech background so I was able to take the printer apart. Clean off all the gold flakings and metal flakings from all the components using air and vacuum. Flashforge decided to send me a new print nozzle, a new bed plate and a new extruder kit to resolve this issue. Luckily this is not my first printer and it won't me my last one either. Based on the customer support that I received.What do I like about this printer? I would say that the speed noise and accuracy are unmatched compared to bamboo or any cubic which I have filament change speed seems to be quicker with flashforge using flashforge filament seems to be the best medium to use. I've had some issues with the sunlu petg filaments for some reason, even customizing the profiles to the recommended sunlu specs seem to get a lot of scarring and inconsistent lines on prints.I will be updating my review once I install the replacement parts over the next couple weeks.Update 7/7/26Overall great machine. Going on over 3k hours of print and a few nozzle changes. I have replaced the entire hotend due to a filament issue (bad batch was more glue than filament). Upgrading to 5 stars due to support and being a machine with less issues than my anycubics or bambu.Ver másVer menos

Great Starter 3D Printer
This is a affordable multi-color 3D printer and easy to set up and use for a beginner. It has auto-leveling and it cleans head when changing colors. I have not had any problems with this model and I have put in many hours of printing so far with no issues.

This machine has promise, but its janky. Very janky. (nevermind, its dead now.)
Edit, 2 weeks in: Printer keeps jamming at the 4in1 connector, even though the machine cuts and then retracts. Following the video from Flashforge just causes it to break. Even their support agent in the video has a hard time pulling these without deforming the tube._____First off, nice that it comes 95% assembled. If you have problems with putting it together, either its broke, or you should return it and take up building with play-doh. The only reason it took 20 minutes to setup was because of the horrible screen interface, the left hand of the screen is unresponsive, so I have to slide my finger around to get anything to happen.I ran the initial calibrations, and sent my own test print using default profiles from Orca. Torture test if you will. Was running great until one of the rewinders allowed filament to get behind the bracket. Unlike any other multi-color unit, it just printed air for that color for several layers. I think some longer ptfe tubes with a bracket to keep them towards the center of the spool would help. But I'm not about to design a fix for an out of the box issue. There is also no way to use this with my polymaker dry boxes like the other machines, so if you live anywhere where there is humidity, good luck.The switcher on this looks like a rip-off of the Prusa MMU, but without the things that make the MMU work right, like filament position detection. Looks like Joseph Prusa was right about Creality-et all ripping off their design.First layer quality was all over out of the box, some objects had a decent 1st layer, others had gaps, like there was a huge warp in the bed (which it looks relatively flat under a straightedge) . Speaking of the bed, its thin plastic, so Z moves are LOUD. Might benefit from a strip or 2 of dynamat. That might be the bed slamming into the limits, who knows with these.I'm waiting on reply from Flashforge to see what can be done about the 2 issues, before we box it up and punt it back to Amazon like we would with any other bad Chinese tools we find on here. This was just ordered to fill a gap in our equipment while the Mk3S is being upgraded, and I refuse to spend my time correcting bad machine design.Amazon refuses to refund the printer cost despite having it for 2 weeks.Ver másVer menos

Very good product
We got this as a birthday gift for our kid. Its a good little 3d printer I would say its more for beginners but thats because we dont print too much. My kid used it nonstop for like 6 months and now its just once in a while. Has printed little valentine's for school class etc. Its fast and does make noise which my kid hates but its also in the kids room so maybe if you have it in an office room or somewhere else that you dont nap or sleep in it should be fine. Its fast and precise and very stable. We got it while on sale during the holidays. The price however its very good. Its a nice printer its failed a couple of times but that was because the filament got stuck and wasn't feeding right. We also got the enclosure for it which makes it look even cooler. 100/ 10 recommend.Ver másVer menos

Fun printer!
My first 3d printer. Very fun to use. It's pretty easy to use. Setup was easy once you watch a YouTube video on how. There is no instructions for the actual setup. There are 3 screws hold the bottom plate in place for shipping that needed to be removed. I had to look it up on youtube to find which ones. They give you a little test filament but it's not on any spools so I'm not sure how I was going to use it. I had ordered filament and it arrived the following day "on spools" Anyways the printer works great! Had fun testing it making little mushrooms and old school clothes pins. The app you install on your pc has a little learning curve. Slowly figuring it out. The phone app what I've read is really bad from the reviews. Not even 2 stars. I haven't downloaded that yet. I gave this 5 stars because it seems to be a good printer, so far. Super cool to watch it print and to hold your creation in your hands when it's finished. It's not too bad for noise. Touch screen is nice. I have many things I want to try and print. I feel like a little kid in a candy store. 😁 I am happy with this purchase. Price was fair and hopefully it will last awhile.Ver másVer menos

Great balanced printer.
I own a small business and purchased this prnter in the 11th hour to replace a broken down Bambu and needed a print job done right now. I unboxed it, assembled and calibrated in 20 minutes and put it right to work. No testing or sample prints or tuning. Excellent budget multicolor printer. I have owned mine since December and have put 1000 hours on the odometer. Still running the original double sided pei build plate on one side and only changed the nozzle once. I've ran all flavors of PLA, petg, a little bit of TPU and abs. Failed prints are minimal considering the volume of printing I've done and 90% of the failures were user error either from set up wrong or incorrect slicer settings. The machine prints quality that can compete with Bambu any day of the week and in a lot of cases out performs Bambu machines. It is rock solid and has been a great investment to my business. Although the machine is capable of printing at blistering speeds I have not pushed it to it's max. I would buy this again without question.Things I don't like are few but there is one dislike that stands out more than others. The purge waste created when printing multi-color is on the extreme side. Often times there is more waste created than the print uses. If your printing something with a lot of color changes you will chew through way more filament than you thought. I typically won't run a multicolor print on half empty spools unless it's very small. Multi-color printing will significantly add print time as well. It's not uncommon for my prints to exceed 24 hours. That said, I have ran 24hr or more prints back to back for a week and the printer doesn't bat an eye and kept on rolling. The slicer is a skinned older version of Orca which is a great slicer in its own right but it's a few versions behind. The skinned version is very integrated to Flashforge which makes it feel more solid but there are features and fixes in the newer versions of orca that the printer would benefit from. When googling for help make sure you are including Flashforge Orca and not just orca. They're slightly different and don't behave the same way. Lastly is noise. It's loud. Running is loud, purges are loud, it's just a noisy machine all the way around. It is not enclosed like it's siblings are in the 5M family. There is an enclosure kit you can buy but beware...it's panels only and you have to print out the entire frame yourself which is advised by flashforge to print in ABS... which you can't do without an enclosure. Probably the worst catch 22 ever. It will take at least 2kg of filament and 3 days. The better solution if you want to cut down noise is use an old tall Creality tent enclosure. You need it enclosed to run ABS as well as cut down noise. Spools are exposed which isn't great for petg or tpu filaments but at this price point other features would've been sacrificed to include an enclosed dry box like bambu ams machines. You'll have to run such filaments out of a standalone dry box to avoid fails. While the printer is relatively easy to use it's not necessarily for beginners. I've seen a lot of these show up on Marketplace right after Christmas that were given to kids as gifts. I can't speak to why but I assume they just didn't have the patience to use it.The price point this machine comes in at, for it's features, is perfect and very affordable for a multi color printer. Especially a core XY machine. Price on this is similar a high end bed slinger that can't touch the performance and reliability of the AD5X.
