  Pricey but works well

  Also bought the PoE adapter and it works great. Good quality video and only requires a cat5 cable. Great for where you don’t have 120v power and Ethernet is much more reliable than WiFi. I’ve bought several and am happy with them.

  OUTDOOR CAM 2K VERSUS 4K

  I Have all 3 versions of the outdoor cam. The 2k version is more than adequate but I recently bought the 4k version and I see alot of people bashing the 4k version but the quality of the video is very very good and the zoom video wont let you see license plates but the zoom is alot better than the 2k. Im hoping the next version the 8k will be able to see license plates. I think you will be more than happy with the 2k but if you want an upgrade and more crisp clear with better zoom then go for the 4k. I got mine on sale for 139.00. Wait for a sale and the 4k is more than worth it.Ver másVer menos

  Very clear picture, good sensitivity, easy setup

  I have had Ring cameras and door bells since the day they came out, and always loved their quality, ease of installation and setup, and flexibility (battery, solar, or hard wired). I just moved and decided to leave my old cameras behind and get new ones for our new TX home. What a leap in technology! I got the 4K camera and door bell and they are amazing! Highly recommended.   Ring is more concerned with profitability than providing a solid product or service.

  Updated: After working with the Ring support they replaced the camera under warranty and the camera has been online for a week now without dropping its connection via ethernet Poe cable. The picture quality is great during the daylight. At night the picture quality is reduced considerably but still acceptable for the price. The motion detection works very well. When there is no motion the camera goes to a very low bit rate. It instantly jumps to an acceptable bit rate when motion is detected. I wouldn't say it's flawless but not a bad setup.There is a firmware issue that Ring is not addressing probably due to profitability. It costs them more to maintain a stable network connection (data storage). The camera will not maintain a stable network connection. It has nothing to do with your LAN. The problem resides with the camera itself and the Ring server. It's all technical jargon but the bottom line is the camera does not work as advertised. look at the Mbps in the attached picture. This is with a ethernet wired connection. I can connect any other device to this cable without any issue at all.Ver másVer menos

  Great but not as great as expected

  Works great only knock is that I was replacing an older unit and the WiFi signal was not good enough for the new camera, when I had no problems with signal on the old camera. I had to relocate the new one closer to the router location.
