Works well for the price range
I needed to replace a 14 year old Pioneer. This one has all I need and the sound is great. The Bluetooth connection plays music well from my iPhone. The subwoofer setting could be a little more adjustable; it sometimes overwhelms the music at the lowest setting. Works well with my Vsee box. Great value.Ver másVer menos

Works great and easy to use.
This Pyle receiver is easy to use and has better sound than my old, more expensive, Yamaha receiver.

— Not as Expected
I purchased this Pyle 5.2 Channel Hi-Fi Home Theater Receiver hoping for a solid surround sound experience for movies and karaoke use. Unfortunately it fell well short of expectations on multiple fronts.First, whenever surround sound mode is activated, the unit produces a loud and distracting scratchy distortion that makes it completely unusable in that mode. Second, the overall audio output is surprisingly weak for a home theater receiver — dialogue and music lack presence and clarity even at higher volume levels. Third, and most disappointing, the subwoofer output does not provide enough power to properly drive a sub, resulting in thin and unsatisfying bass that defeats the purpose of a surround setup.For karaoke and movie use in a home theater environment, this unit simply does not deliver. The build quality feels budget at best and the performance does not match what is advertised. I expected much more at this price point.I have since returned the unit. Would not recommend for anyone serious about home theater audio or karaoke performance. Save your money and invest in a better brand.”Ver másVer menos

4.5 Stars Really
First - I have an entry- to mid-level set of 5.1 Polk Audio speakers that may have cost near $300. These are legit speakers - not part of a $299 home theater kit - but they are still not high-end speakers. And this receiver is an entry-level receiver, so the whole system together cost me under $500. That said, the sound is REALLY good. I watched Top Gun Maverick and Man of Steel on it, and the sound was awesome. The sound was pumped to the receiver via an optical cable from a very basic TLC 4k TV; I think the sound would've been comparable via the HDMI interface. I have a more expensive JVC receiver + Infinity speakers combo upstairs, and those speakers sound more crisp. Don't know how to explain it other than that. But this receiver and the Polk Audio speakers sound great. Most wouldn't notice a difference unless they listened to them side by side. Only one thing - this receiver only has bass and treble; it does not have an equalizer.Ver másVer menos

Impressive machine for the price
Exceeded my expectations from a low cost alternative for a home theater receiver. In my unprofessional opinion, it performs as well as its $600 and $700 counterparts.
