The Dell 15 is a great option for those wanting a low-cost name brand Windows 11 laptop
I purchase TurboTax software every year to do my taxes and in 2025 they now require a PC to run on Windows 11. As my current PC's all run Windows 10 and not upgradable according to Microsoft, I needed to purchase a new laptop running on Windows 11.After searching, I chose the Dell 15, which is sold and shipped by Amazon. This laptop with 8gb ram and a 512gb solid state hard drive fulfilled all my needs, with the exception of an Ethernet port. However, I also bought an Amazon Basics USB to RJ-45 Ethernet adapter for faster speeds and hooked it up without any issue to the Dell 15.The new laptop setup was quickly done without any issues and updated the latest software versions from both Microsoft and Dell.I am completely happy with the screen quality, brightness, sound quality and overall performance of the low-cost Dell 15 laptop, which suits all my basic needs.Ver másVer menos

Good for the price
Before I bought this I read the reviews. One gentleman really nailed what was wrong: the screen, even at it's lightest mode, is fairly dark. He's was right, and it's very irritating to me. And the touchpad on this, the cheapest-priced brand new Dell laptop is made of plastic, not metal. So, it's not as precise/works as well as a metal touchpad. Again, it's very irritating to me. The very old Dell I replaced was an inexpensive model too, but has a metal touchpad, and a better-lit screen. I kind of wished I shelled out the extra $200 for the other Dell I was looking at, but I was more broke than usual. Another thing I didn't expect: it has AI built into it. And it's very hard to avoid it, though there are ways. If those 3 flaws don't bother you, you'll like this.Ver másVer menos

…Not Good…
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this laptop has been a huge disappointment. The build quality feels cheap, and the overall user experience has been frustrating from day one.My usage was extremely basic: one saved document and a few internet browser tabs open. After only about 20 minutes of use, the laptop started freezing, lagging, and glitching. Simple tasks became difficult, and performance continued to get worse each time I used it.The most frustrating part is that the system has become so unstable that I can’t even successfully perform a factory reset. I’ve spent more time troubleshooting than actually using the computer. If you’re looking for a reliable laptop for basic tasks like web browsing, email, Word, or Excel, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Based on my experience, this laptop was unable to handle even the simplest workload.Ver másVer menos
