Exceeded expectations
I am using this Vizio soundbar with an older (over 10 years old) Samsung flatscreen TV. The built in speakers quit working on the TV, so I faced with trying to replace the speakers or trying a soundbar. I didn't really want to open the TV so I decided to try a soundbar. I also did not want an external subwoofer because I really don't want that much bass. I found this Vizio soundbar at what seemed to be a fair price and decided to give it a try. I liked the fact that there is no logo on the front of it, that the design is very clean and that the bass is integrated into the soundbar. I connected the soundbar to my TV via the HDMI ARC connection and plugged it in...and that was it. Not only does it work beautifully with my TV, after initial setup I don't even have to use the Vizio remote; I can adjust the volume and mute the the soundbar via my original Samsung remote. Also when I turn off the TV the soundbar turns off and when I turn it back on the soundbar turns on. Needless to say I was very impressed with the ease of setup and the integration via the HDMI ARC connection. Overall this soundbar has so far exceeded my expectations!Update 10/6/23 - the sound bar is great, I have really enjoyed owning it. Another thing I have started using is you can turn the soundbar Bluetooth on via the Vizio remote (TV remains off) and connect your phone to it and play music. use to hear TV sound better than on TV facing speakers
Working good, plugged into HDMI port of TV. The bass is a little boomy and have reduced the bass sound and increased the treble. The user instructions were not in the package on how to make the adjustments on the speaker. Finally found it after a lot of searching on the internet at the Vizio site. Saw some instructions that had a small menu screen showing the levels, what you were changing, which was for another speaker. This one has only a line of dots, that show that you are increasing or decreasing the functions. The user manual is really weak and hard to follow. The remote isn't marked clearly either. Therefore, for example to change the level of the bass or treble you need to press the button you want to change the level, then either press the left of right side of the center button. Right increases and left decreases, but the buttons do not have arrows and the manual does not clearly say that is what needs to be done.Ver másVer menos

Fantastic sounding, and good value!
Its a fantastic sounding sound bar! The reason I purchased is I had two problems: a bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and a TV that was angled down. So the TV’s rear-facing speakers projected sound up into the ceiling where it would all be lost. I always had to use closed captions because dialogue was non existent, and I had to crank the volume nearly all the way up to hear anything. I read reviews and got this sound bar for $100. I’ve had it for a week and I am thoroughly impressed! It sounds fantastic! I’m amazed at how much bass comes out of it, yet how small it is. Dialogue is super clear. I enjoy watching shows now because it sounds so great! It was super easy to set up too: just power and HDMI, and it came with the HDMI cord, albeit a short one. I especially liked how it automatically syncs with the TV’s remote/volume buttons without having to mess around with it. Only con is the instructions weren’t clear on how to orient it if I didn’t want to wall mount it. I put it on the organizer console below the TV and faced the lights towards me, so that would be “flat” down but the instructions didn’t say to do that. It sounds fantastic though and I can see the lights when I change volume so I’m leaving it oriented that way. The audio is like something that should cost $350+. Pleasant surprise that it only cost $100 and sounds great!Ver másVer menos

Setup: super easy. Movie sound: 5 stars. Music sound: computer 5 stars, phone 4 stars.
This is another pure luxury solution to a gold plate problem: portable device speakers generally sound .. . small. Well at my desk I don't have to live with that! I didn't want speakers in my line of sight-my youngest son put custom built LEGO figures at each end of my desk anyway. I also didn't want wires connecting-more gold plate problems you see. So Bluetooth was essential. DTS and HDMI ARQ were nice to have features. I set the budget, found the solution to my phantom problem, and BOOM the blue truck of joy set me about my next task: listening to BIG SOUND (I hoped).Fast forward: I connected to my Chromebook via Bluetooth. You get an audio and visual confirmation that you are connected (there is an LED on the front of the soundbar that briefly glows blue). I Played a movie first. Using the EQ button on the remote control, I toggled through the various settings, finally selecting "movie." There was audio confirmation of my selection. The sound was outstanding with great left to right separation. You don't always hear things move side to side when watching movies on a laptop. Ha ha ha. Add a Vizio V-Series Sound Bar and you will! Ok, I did. I tested it with music from my laptop next.Using the EQ button on the remote control, I again toggled through the four available settings, until I reached "music." There was audio confirmation of my selection. I cycled through classic rock, jazz, and deep house. It sounded pretty good with all of them. Crisp highs clean mids and bass. Listen, this is not an audiophile or a studio reference speaker. It's a hundo TV sound bar. Set your expectations accordingly. Having said that--it thrives on playing loudly. In fact this thing begs to rock out. I like my neighbors and my ears. When I feed the beast I move away then use the remote to turn it up!Which brings me to using it with my phone: No matter what my phone enhances the bass more than I like. even flat bass is too much. I'll continue tweaking the settings, but in general, my phone's EQ is geared towards a bass heavy genre of music that my kids probably love but that I don't. Great for the hearing impaired
I bought this for my Mom, for she only has 1 half functioning ear in her aged condition. With her flat screen bouncing sound off the wall, it just never sounded good, and had to be cranked way up for her to hear.With this in place, the sound quality is soooo much better, clearer, and doesn't have to be turned up as high for her to be able to hear it, with her 1 hearing aid.Ver másVer menos
