  I absolutely love Xtend BCAAs. I think they are easy to mix, great value and I love the taste. Every once in awhile I try out a small container of a new flavor to build some variety into my mix. Blue raspberry is likely to become one that I rotate in and out as I like this one.   I still maintained a good physique and could have been lifting more but was ...

  I'm 62 and have worked out religiously for 28 years. When I say worked out I mean weight lifting. 5 years ago I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and told to stop all supplements which I did. Over the next 5 years I lost about 30 pounds of muscle but continued the gym routines albeit with less weight. I still maintained a good physique and could have been lifting more but was saving the joints. A bodybuilder friend suggested bcaa's as a partial solution to my lower mass problem so I researched. Medical studies suggested bcaa's had shown some improvement in cirrhotics in end stage liver disease w/o any prominent negative sides. I also noted bcaa's are metabolized in the muscle which is very exciting for me as I didn't want to increase substantial burden on that organ. By the way I am an ectomorphic somatotype and have had the same diet for at least a decade discounted the deletion of supplements. I want to preface by stating I AM protein defficient on the best day due to the digestion situation so my day by day weight gain after starting this supplement is notable. I leveled off at 5 pounds up after a week of use but am very happy with the results. The taste of this blue rasberry is very good and the 000 on carbs, calories, fat sold me. I've been lifting long enough to know the feeling when I got full muscle recruitment on an arm day, it was the first time I had that for several years. If I had a decent liver to work with I know I could be much bigger but this supp. is safe in my opinion for me. I also want to note I check my bodyfat with skin fold calipers weekly and I remain at about 11%. There has not been a fluctuation as there usually is when gain is due to fluid so I'm encouraged. The shipping from amazon is very timely as usual and I'm a happy camper all around.Ver másVer menos

  Too soon to tell, but tastes terrible.

  Just started taking this. I was on Jay cutler bcaa’s but it was expensive. I take intra with another intra powder. Then I take post workout. I can truly tell you the blue raspberry is garbage. Taste terrible. Only dinged one start for that. Raw preworkout blue raspberry taste fantastic.Ver másVer menos

  Excellent product

  Tastes great and really helps with recovery!I’ve been using XTEND BCAA for a few weeks now, and I love it. The blue raspberry flavor is actually delicious—super refreshing, especially during or after workouts. It mixes easily with water and doesn’t leave any weird aftertaste. I’ve noticed less muscle soreness and better recovery overall. Definitely one of the best BCAA powders I’ve tried. Great value too!Ver másVer menos

  Scivation's Xtend BCAA's are the best on the market, hands down, in my opinion. They come at a low price point, generally below $20 for 30 servings, and have the most l-leucine per serving out of any product that I could find on amazon. Leucine is the most important BCAA, and the more you can get of it, the better. The 3.5 Gram dosage is very high compared to most other products. Topping it off with the addition of glutamine and citruline malate are nice additions, though both are too low to do a ton of work on their own. Citruline normally needs at least 2-3 (sometimes 4) grams to be effective, and glutamine should be around 8-12. Assuming you take an extra glutamine product, this is a nice extra, though not needed. The extra citruline can aid you in getting a pump if you already take a nitric oxide boost as a preworkout that has citruline in it as well. Just a little icing on the cake, nothing to ride home about though.I use this product intra workout on training days, and thoughout the day on non training days. Generally I'll mix in 2 scoops (2 servings), and maybe a third if I'm training, but that's just me, do what you want.Now for the stuff that doesn't matter but everyone cares about.Taste is really good. I've tried a lot of the flavors and my favorites are lemon lime and green apple. Blue raspberry isn't bad, but sometimes stains your teeth like Gatorade.The product mixes fairly well but expect some foam. This is actually a good thing because leucine, generally, doesn't mix well, so you know you're gettting what they claim you are.Overall, again, I believe this to be the most cost effective, most potent BCAA mix possibly on the market. A competitive option would be Rich Piana's "All day you may".Ver másVer menos
