Highly recommend over other antacids
I got this for a bout of acid reflux I developed as a result of medication. I was using Genexa and also Tums but in researching those I found out that both have nasty ingredients including MSG (disguised as “flavors”) which is a brain toxin, and besides they taste disgusting. The Now brand is all natural with no bad stuff, works instantly, and has no taste. I dissolve 1/2 teaspoon in 3-4 oz orange juice and instant relief to the reflux.Ver másVer menos

Dissolves easily for drinking, also good for tooth powder
This calcium mixes up with water easily for drinking, although it does leave residue in the glass you'll need to clean out. It also works very well in homemade tooth powder. Making our own tooth powder has substantially improved my daughter's tooth sensitivity. This is a very pure calcium, so we feel safe using it. We also don't react to it, as we do the calcium citrate, often made from corn.Homemade tooth powder gives a wonderful polished-feeling clean and helps a ton with sensitive teeth. Frenchie Friendly. 1g/day with animal meat.
Excellent supp if you feed your dog meat at home which is becoming more popular. Be sure to check with your vet on the dosing though, too much or too little = bad.

Great tooth powder ingredient
I bought this to use in homemade tooth powder. I wasn't expecting it to do anything exciting, just to function as the remineralizing portion of my tooth powder, and it's great for that purpose.I've tweaked my tooth powder recipe, because the standard recipes weren't quite cutting it for me. I based my recipe off the one from the web site nourishing joy, but I found that there wasn't enough activated charcoal to counteract the tooth stains from my daily coffee, so I upped the ratio of charcoal. Plus, my mouth still didn't quite feel clean after brushing, so I added frankincense oil, which has natural antibacterial properties and makes my mouth and teeth feel super clean. So here's my recipe:4 tbsp bentonite clay (best to get a brand that's meant for internal use since it's going it your mouth)4 tbsp calcium carbonate powder (Now brand works great)1 tsp baking soda1 tbsp fine sea salt or Himalayan pink salt4 tbsp activated charcoal powderenough frankincense oil to make the mixture slightly moist but not clumpyMix everything together, and keep it in an airtight container. I wet my toothbrush very slightly and dip it into the tooth powder and brush with the amount that sticks to the toothbrush.I've found that this mixture works amazingly. It keeps my teeth as white as any whitening toothpaste I've ever used, if not slightly whiter. My teeth haven't been accumulating tartar at all in the 5 months I've been using this. And best of all, my gums, which had been slowly receding for the last 15 years or so, haven't receded one bit since I've been using this. I decided to switch to tooth powder when I learned that glycerin can be irritating to mouth tissue. I wondered if eliminating it would stop my gums from receding, and it's worked. Even the popular brands of natural toothpaste contain glycerin.So, tooth powder has been working much better for me than any toothpaste I've ever tried. Flavorless, odorless, absorbs fairly well
I've had good experiences in the past with NOW supplements, so I thought I'd give this calcium carbonate powder a try. We use it primarily with homemade soymilk, although sometimes we'll also mix it into smoothies and protein shakes. The serving size is 1 teaspoon, which packs a whopping 1200 mg calcium (120% RDA). The powder is silky, lightweight, and chalky-looking; it has no scent or flavor. It absorbs fairly well upon mixing, although obviously you'll achieve more thorough results if you use a blender or food processor than if you manually whisk it. (It isn't perfect, though, so I'm taking off one star for that.) I add enough of this powder to get 300 mg calcium per serving (1/2 cup) of soymilk (so 600 mg, or 1/2 tsp, per cup). That amount seems to work well for us, as we don't notice a difference in the texture, flavor, or creaminess of the soymilk. A 12-ounce bottle of this stuff lasts us about four months, and we use 4-6 tsp each week. I would definitely recommend this powder to those who want to increase the calcium content of their homemade beverages and other foods.Ver másVer menos

Tasteless + Works Well As An Antacid = Satisfied
Decided to go this route due to not being satisfied with some of the disgusting tasting name-brand antacid tablets. In fact, look at the ingredients of some tablets and you'll find Carmine: a food coloring made from gound up bugs. No, I am not joking! Search for yourself. Anyway, the active ingredient in antacid tablets is Calcium Carbonate so I had the idea to check if it was possible to simply buy pure Calcium Carbonate powder. That way there'd be no additives such as Carmine or sugar or salt, etc. And, therefore, I figured it would be tasteless, which is what I wanted. And that's how I found and bought this product. It is indeed tasteless and it works well as an antacid. In fact, it works better than the tablets in cases where I wake up due to some acid reflux. This fine powder does a better job of neutralizing the acid in my throat than chewables ever did. Trying to swallow the powder dry can be difficult because it is so dry. What I do is keep about a teaspoon of the powder in a small container (which will hold a few ounces of water) with sealable lid. So, when I need it, I just remove the lid, add some water, put the lid back on, shake vigorously, then drink. That way it flows over any acid in my throat (which stops the burning) on its way down to my stomach where it relieves the acid indigestion there.
