  Excellent everyday carry

  I’ve been using my four year-old Gerber Paraframe 1 on an office remodel all week for various tasks and it occurred to me that I had no backup in case I lose it. Found Amazon had it discounted to $20 bucks and picked up a spare. Still very good quality and came decently sharp, but I detailed to a shaving edge in a couple minutes. I did notice that the thumb stud rotated on my new one while the old one was fixed. Someone else noted this in their review here, and like them, I’m not too worried about it as it’s securely fastened. It’s not the easiest to open one-handed, but that’s not an issue for me. I chose this stainless knife because of the low profile when clipped in my pocket, the light but strong frame, good ergonomics when using, and it holds a decent edge. I also prefer stainless for an everyday carry for maintenance considerations. This blade isn’t part of a collection but with me every day whether I’m working, hiking or camping. It gets used. All this for $20 is a bargain in my book.Ver másVer menos

  Two exception Gerber Knives worth having

  There are two knives from Gerber which are stellar in value and performanceThe Gerber Ripstop I Knife, Fine Edge [22-41614]is really good, sharp and is a great knife for carry by man or woman.. I have bought over 10 of theknives and given them away as presents to my children and even the USPS mail lady. Everyone love it.The Gerber Paraframe I Knife, Fine Edge, Stainless Steel [22-48444]is just simply exceptional in size, sharpness and function...This knife if for a person with a large hard so it is not suited well for a small woman or child, where the Gerber Ripstop I Knife, Fine Edge [22-41614]is the best choice.Needless to say these are my choice knives and I have bought many to figure out which is best for me.You will not go wrong with the purchase of either.Hank FreemanVer másVer menos

  Great deal

  Gotta love gerber. Durability that you can count on. Run it though a ceramic “V” sharpener two or three times and it’s as sharp as any factory knife, even at double the price. Just get this and don’t break the bank. Worth every penny x2

  I have been carrying a pocket knife daily since 1960. I was 10. Over that era, I've had a chance to evaluate a wide array of knives. Since I first purchase this Paraframe by Gerber in 2020, it is safe to assume that none of my other knives met my need quite as well as this one. This knife doesn't have a toothpick, scissors, leather punch, or tweezers. You just get a single 3 1/2" by 3/4" (at its widest) blade made from steel that is ideally suited to the task of being a pocket knife. First, it takes an edge in a split second. I use a small diamond hone that came with the Hori Knife I bought on Amazon. Next, it holds that edge for a good long time even though I use it to cut lots of nasty stuff such as corrugated cardboard or to trim vegetables direct from the soil. Once I used the tip to disassemble and repair my dead laptop while on a train trip to NYC. Also, the blade itself seems like it will be the last component to fail. By a good measure, it is the sturdiest part of the design. Most of my other pocket knives either snapped or bent under the same sort of stress I subjected this knife to. It comes with two additional features, one which I will never use and the other which I use constantly. The belt clip seems nice a sturdy, but I never use it. On the other hand, I really did not expect I would use the little spring assist device. When I first tried it seemed awkward and uncomfortable, but somewhere I read someone say "give it a little time and you will get used to it", so I persevered. In about two days I got the hang of it and now if think this is a genius design.. I have stopped looking for a better pocket knife. This one will surely last longer than I will, I just hope I don't lose it. I lost the first one I bought and immediately replaced it with an identical model.Ver másVer menos
