Really good book
almost everyone I know has been attacked or hassled by some guy. One of mine was actually a campus cop and another guy on a plane. It was good to read about justice for a change and seeing woman sticking together.

Not a normal Danelle Steel book!!
I stopped reading Danielle Steel books because they all seemed pretty much alike. Well this one is not! I was very surprised when I started reading it and was pulled into the story very quickly. It’s a story about women and the business world and how badly some men can behave. Yes, the Me Too movement. Give this one a try, maybe the author has freshened up her writing style a little. I read it in one day and enjoyed it.Ver másVer menos

High stakes is well named
Jane has a new job in NY and finds good people and bad people to work with. Her two bosses are good and hard workers, and the agency co-owner is the bad one. She is sexually harassed her first day, and is angry. When it happens again, she warns him that if he touches her again, she’ll call the police. He continues and she makes good on her word. A Lot of Steam, A Lot of Innuendo and Not a lot of Substance
I was prepared to really enjoy this book, the story of high powered women in high powered jobs. But it turned out that this book was the story of how women give in to threats, intimidation and sometimes the urge for power. The only character who was redeemable as well as believable was Jane and she was from a wealthy family so she didn’t really need the job at the agency, she just wanted it. I did not like Dan, the abuser, at all, so that plan of the author worked. I was not surprised by any of the plot twists since they were easy to see coming. This was a book that was moderately enjoyable with a great deal of plot that sounded more like a gossip rag than a novel. I checked out a copy of this book from the local library via Libby. I was not required to write a positive review.Ver másVer menos
