Nice Plug-and-Play Monitor …
I’ve been looking for a good extending monitor that needed to be plug-and-play (employer requirement) and this monitor provided everything I wanted, but I’m not a fan of the attaching method.This monitor has a 14” diameter and is probably the thinnest monitor I’ve seen. In addition to the monitor, you get everything necessary to connect to most all computers, including USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI cables that make it compatible with most PC and Apple computers. Also included is a soft storage bag and clear, illustrated installation card for easy set-up assistance.I love everything about this monitor except the clamping design that attaches it to the back of the laptop screen. In terms of compatibility, it says it fits “most” major computer brand 13.5” to 17” laptops. The attachment design involves top and side “clips” that grip the top and sides of the laptop screen so the monitor flips out to the right side. This attaching mechanism is tension-based and pulling each side to accommodate your laptop monitor’s width increases the tension to provide was is intended to be a secure clamping effect. An adjustable arm extends from the back to anchor the attaching mechanism and keep it in place. I feel this design is somewhat flawed in that the monitor seemed to clamp in place but the weight of the extended screen caused the sides to unclamp and angle back … the entire ensemble was “hanging” from the top clamps. The arm in the back was flimsy and useless. I was only able to remedy this issue by using hook/loop tape on the bottom half of my laptop and the attaching mechanism … it now stays firmly in place.Aside from the attaching issue I was able to resolve quickly, everything else about this monitor works like a charm. Set-up was uncomplicated and immediate … no issues. The picture quality is more than adequate and there is plenty of brightness. I have 2 larger work monitors to each sided and this monitor gives me a convenient extra needed to make work easier.Love the monitor, but I’m not a fan of the simplistic and unreliable attachment mechanism.Ver másVer menos

A Highly Practical Screen for Field Work and Home
As a guy who spends a lot of time wrangling audio-visual production details and writing up event scripts, trying to get everything done on a single laptop screen is incredibly frustrating. I picked up this 14-inch screen extender to give myself some extra breathing room when I am working at the house or out on location. I am giving it a full five stars because it delivers exactly what I needed without overcomplicating things, and for the price, the value is definitely there.What I like most is how incredibly thin and light the monitor is. It packs right into my gear bag without adding noticeable weight to my loadout. The 1080P screen is crisp enough for reviewing video footage or keeping my scripts on one display while I check timelines on the other. It really is just plug and play, which I appreciate because I do not want to mess around with downloading extra software just to get a piece of equipment working.As for my dislikes, the attachment mechanism feels a little delicate. Whenever my 12 and 14-year-old daughters are bumping around the kitchen table while I am trying to work, I find myself keeping a close eye on the monitor to make sure it does not get knocked loose. It grips well enough, but it just feels like a piece of hardware you need to handle with some care rather than tossing it around.Even with that minor gripe about the bracket, the screen itself performs flawlessly. It is well worth the money for the extra space it provides. A pain to change settings on, but great low power second screen experience
Let me get my whining out of the way, the power button is also the volume, brightness and settings toggle; I dislike it tremendously. Reaching behind the screen while watching the changes you make is not intuitive or easy. The "brightness" setting is also the backlight setting and the "backlight" setting is actually picture brightness- not sure how that got past QA. Thankfully, the quick toggle for backlight brightness automatically uses the mislabeled "brightness" setting, so it's fine. I guess. The controls to change settings really needed to be relocated and maybe not just all on one multi-use toggle. The built in speaker is awful, but most laptops will have better speakers and you'll probably never need it. Blues and greens for the screen are fine, but reds on this are a little on the orange side. There's a bunch of picture presets, but most of them are not very good, especially the faux HDR mode that ruins contrast and saturation.There's cool, warm, sRGB and user presets, but of all of them I liked the sRGB one most. The overall picture quality is purely baseline acceptable for a second IPS screen, there's some banding in the darker greens and dark to mid greys. The pixel response time is slow enough that fast action on the screen will have ghosting that reminds me of a TV's soap opera effect when adding extra frames.That all may sound harsh, but there's good points too. The screen can be hooked up either by USB-C or HDMI, it comes with all the cables you will need, it can hooked up to a desktop PC using displayport to USB C cables, the base or the kickstand can be used to prop up the screen in a variety of angles when you're not clipping this to a laptop- it's really quite versatile. Even if the picture isn't the highest quality due to banding or color inaccuracy it still does its job using less than 5 watts. The ability to barely impact your laptop's battery life and add needed screen space is its best quality. Next is its matte finish combined with the viewing angles, I enjoyed being able to see everything clearly no matter how I had the screen oriented.So if you prize versatility, extra desktop space, low power and good viewing angles, this is great to pair with your laptop. If color accuracy or pixel response time are required, look elsewhere.Ver más

That big old thick thing used two usb ports AND a power supplyand is very well supplanted by this sleek, thin, ever so easy to attach auxiliary screen.This screen comes with three types of adaptors, but for me it was super simple, C-connector on monitor to C-connector on laptop, and done. The other two adaptors are already well described in the product listing, so I am not going to reiterate what they have already said.This thin monitor extender just snugs right onto the main laptop monitor. Easy to attach and easy to remove. If there was one thing I would say could be improved, it would be that I had to touch the screen of the extended monitor just a couple times while arranging it. Not sure whether I "had" to or not, but being a fumble-fingered person, sometimes things happen. It didn't seem to hurt anything, though one is always cautioned to be careful touching screen stuff (this is not a touch screen).Once I connected, the extender turned itself right on, and it was simple to go to the setup for dual screens, as most of us already know how to do, and tell the OS whether to duplicate or extend the desktop. For me, it's important to have more than one source of information available at all times on my computer, so in my case I immediately chose "extend."Once the setup of appearance was done, there wasn't anything else to do! My monitor extension was ready to use. Oh yeah, there is one thing. It appeared a bit dark at first, which was easily fixed in the monitor settings screen right there where to choose whether to duplicate or extend the desktop. Now both monitors are of the same brightness and they look like they were "born" that way.Be sure to read the cautions and instructions on how to open and close the extender. All that information is provided (in readable font, even) with the screen in the box.Total win! And the price at about $140 is a good price in my opinion.
