So, immediately you can probably tell this thing costs about 2x what it should. It touts a lot of additional features which are supposed to justify this price point, but they really don’t in practice.First, the built in speakers are literally the worst I’ve heard on any device in decades. I don’t even know how they managed to make them so bad. They sound like a 1995 Walkie-Talkie. It’s the kind of sound quality you might expect to find on a smart watch, not a media device. My PS5 controller might have higher quality speakers in it. That isn’t a joke.Second, the M-Mate app. It has so little effort put in that I actually thought it was a scam pretending to be from MSI until I checked the site to make sure I had the real thing. It uses a placeholder description and the app itself is filled with broken English. The built in KVM switch doesn’t even work because it relies on the busted M-Mate app to function and they didn’t implement it correctly. The monitor periodically UN-CALIBRATES ITSELF too! The colors become completely borked, and I have to reopen the M-Mate app and adjust the settings to fix it. It seems to happen any time the monitor is powered off, such as when my MacBook is put to sleep. Meaning it’s a multiple times a day issue. That alone makes this $700 monitor worse than a basic $400 OLED.To pile onto the whole “they aren’t even trying” vibe, it doesn’t come with any instructions. Not on how to put it together. Not on how to control it. Not on how to use the M-Mate app. You won’t even know that you NEED the M-Mate app without reading about it in the product description online. I had to work my way through everything with a combination of trial-and-error with a bit of Google.Third, the sensor. It’s supposed to dim the screen when you walk away to help preserve the OLED’s lifespan, but that doesn’t work either. I don’t know if it’s registering stuff on my desk as a person in front of it, or if whatever firmware it relies on is just as busted as M-Mate. I just know it does nothing.Lastly, it only comes in white and doesn’t match anything. I thought I’d be able to get over that, but it’s worse in person than I thought it would be. It even has a big white bezel on the front, so I’m constantly aware of it. It doesn’t even match my MacBook, which is extra weird since it’s MADE to pair with one. I know Apple’s own monitors are white, but that’s also a bad design and copying it was terrible. They could at least give the option of a different color. On the plus side, it does have good image quality. About as good as any $300-400 OLED.Ver másVer menos

Monitor itself is great so far. Nice picture for sure. But NONE of the apps to control the monitor work. I have tried 5 different installs. The productivity monitor to make all the changes. No matter what doesn’t work or even install.

Great value.
Only con is terrible speakers but otherwise a perfect monitor for my M5 MacBook Pro, M5 iPad Pro and HP Business laptop at a great price for the specs vs competition (850 cad). Since I know most non Apple branded monitors have terrible speakers, I wasn't expecting much or need them. Like the design as well.Ver másVer menos
