Have your Vet demonstrate BP machine for you
I recommend taking the machine to your Vet like I did, in order to learn how to place the cuff properly for accurate readings because the instructions do not include that. The cuff's marked "min to max" range must be placed on the pet's leg above the knee, where the artery it compresses & reads is located, with the connecting tube running downward. Also I was advised to take 3 readings in a row & average them for the final result. Both Vet & I feel it is accurate & easy to use.Ver másVer menos

Reliable Blood Pressure Monitor for Pets
My dog has developed some heart problems as she’s become older. The vet began prescribing blood pressure medication for her but they were having trouble getting accurate blood pressure readings at the vets office. The more often they tried to get a reading, the more stressful the visits became. The readings they got were off the charts and increasing the medication did nothing. She was too stressed out from going to the vet. I got this home blood pressure kit for pets hoping this would be a solution. There is a learning curve with this device and the instructions are limited. The important things to know are where to place the cuff and how to choose the right size cuff. After that, choose a time when your pet is relaxed and begin taking readings. It is recommended you throw out the first reading since your pet is likely to react to the device. After that, ideally you take a series of 5 readings to get an average. This machine proved to be reasonably accurate and consistent in its readings. We were able to get my dog’s medication adjusted correctly without the constant vet office visits. In the long run, it even saved us the cost of the office visits which made this a worthwhile investment for us.Ver másVer menos

Inaccurate
The readings are all over the place when I measure my cat’s blood pressure. A 150 mmhg swing between 2 back to back measurements where nothing has been adjusted. It’s completely inaccurate.
