Impressive potential, but real‑world performance depends on speed and noise
I travel internationally a few times a year, and while my wife and daughter are bilingual in English and Spanish, I’m not. I usually rely on mobile translation apps, but they can be awkward to use in real conversations. I wanted something more natural and hands‑free, so I decided to try these translator earbuds.The M3 earbuds come with a nice set of accessories: extra ear tips, a compact carrying case, a charging cable, and even a card for downloading free offline languages. The earbuds themselves feel sturdy and work just like normal earbuds for music or apps. Setup was straightforward once I downloaded the Timekettle app.I tested the translation feature twice. First, I tried using them to translate a TV show. At the beginning, the translation kept up, but as the text filled the screen, the app started to lag. Eventually it skipped ahead to catch up with the fast dialogue, so the translation came through broken. Still, it was enough to get the general idea. To be fair, TV dialogue is fast and not the ideal use case.My second test was a real conversation with my daughter — she spoke Spanish, I spoke English. As long as we spoke slowly and steadily, the translation worked well. It did seem sensitive to background noise and other voices, so a quiet environment helps.Overall, I’m okay with the product. I’m traveling to Germany this winter, and that will be the real test. In my experience, even in remote places, most people speak enough English to get by, so the value of these earbuds will come down to convenience. If they work smoothly without needing a quiet corner or asking people to slow down like I’m five, I’ll be happy. If not, they’ll end up as another overpriced translation gadget that sits in my bag collecting dust.For now, they show promise — but real‑world travel will determine whether they’re truly worth it.Ver másVer menos

You get what you pay for
I have several earbuds translators. This one, the app is easy to follow. The sound is very clear. Glad I decided to buy an expensive one.

Don't believe the hype.
While the Touch Mode works reasonably well in touch mode, it still suffers from occasional delays and inaccurate translations. Unfortunately, the Listening and Speaker Modes were extremely disappointing. They frequently missed large portions of the conversation, even though the earbuds clearly indicated they were picking up audio. Instead of translating what was said, they often produced nothing at all.The inconsistent performance makes it difficult to rely on these earbuds for real conversations. If you're looking for a translation device you can depend on, this wasn't my experience. The concept is great, but the execution still needs significant improvement.I can’t recommend this product and will most likely be returning the pair I have. **Edit:** I returned these earbuds—they are absolutely useless in group settings like dinner.Ver másVer menos

Slow response
There is too much delay in the translation. People in Mexico speak fast and you lose half the translation. Once it picks it up there already onto another sentence you get lost in the process.

Not just Real Time Translation, but Real Time CONVERSATION.
Translation Earbuds aren't new. And while i ordered these in 2026, they have been available since 2023, so the technology isn't new, but my experience with this implementation definitely is.The "Touch Mode" was the star of the show for me. I have a close friend who serves in the Military and has an older, Vietnamese parent that barely speaks any English, but is in need of assistance to affront some cultural and language barriers to overcome some stuff, and while say, Google Translate did help in the past, the turn based and the directionality of pointing the phone, reading the screen, felt mechanical.The touch mode allowed the conversations to be more fluid, once somebody finished a sentence, the other one just touched the earbud, we didn't need to be close to each other or to the phone, he could be doing the dishes and i could be sending a text message and we could talk without being looking at each other or to a device which to me made all the difference in the world on how you naturally handle a conversation.The delay is minimal, from like half a second to a second and a half, and it is not perfect, but close enough. You let them know that translation isn't perfect and if confusion arises, to please take it with a pinch of salt, re-structure the sentence or just ask me to restructure it, and once you get used to it, it works every time.Aside from that, these have ANC, of course play music/audio/podcasts like any other Bluetooth Earbuds, but of course you didn't purchase these for that.The offline packages are a welcome addition, but they still need access to your phone, you have to PURCHASE language packs, but you get a card with credits to buy packs included, i have not tested that feature, but it seems useful if you're traveling abroad and don't have data/internet, that option may get you out of a pinch.Overall i'm very happy with these and i can only hope that since it's software based, the translation, input lag and overall quality of the service improves, a little pricey, but the dynamic experience is something i did not experience with translation earbuds before.Ver másVer menos
