  Great camera, amazing battery life!

  So far I have loved having this. Haven't had any issues. The battery life is amazing! It took almost 2 months for the battery to run low, to 30%. So I'd say that's a pretty good battery! The video quality is really good, the distance of the view isn't the greatest but it's still decent. The sound quality is even better. The only thing I don't like, which this has nothing to do with the camera itself. But in order to record and be able to go back and see, you have to obtain a subscription for it. If you don't have that subscription, you can only see live views. Overall, I love it and definitely recommend it!Ver másVer menos

  I would DEFINITELY recommend this RING camera!

  So I had Imou for the longest time and have been paying a monthly fee for practically nothing because it never picked up and advised me of any details when I seriously needed them. I tried a RING camera at some point last year and for one reason or another it just did not work out so I returned it. This time, I decided to try an updated RING camera and THIS is exactly what I hoped for and needed. I absolutely adore the details of what this RING offers. I mean just look at my screenshots! I don't even have to have the motion detection setting on high to get the results I need because it's perfect. When it tells me there's "motion detection" without any details I know that it's because something like a tree branch or bird flying created a shadow or something like that. But when an actual person or vehicle is pulling up into my driveway this unit actually tells me that "there is a white vehicle pulling into your driveway" and "a person is walking up to your door". You can even see in one of my photos that this unit told me that a UPS truck was driving by. And I get these notifications as they're occurring, whereas the competitor would give me a notification AFTER a vehicle has already gone or when someone was already in the house Imou would say there's motion at your front door AFTER the person's already in my home. I could be robbed or murdered before Imou even mentioned somebody was here which is ridiculous. With RING, I'm getting these notifications as it's happening in real time, like it should!! The security of RING is undeniable the best. When someone actually uses the doorbell the communication sound quality is perfection and it's very difficult for me to use the word 'Perfection' on anything so that means a lot. Imou has it to where you have to push a button to speak and then push it again to hear what the other person is saying (SO STUPID) and the sound quality was horrible. But I have the complete opposite effect with this RING. I literally just click 1 single button to talk back and forth like being on a telephone. That brings me to another advantage. I absolutely love when someone actually pushes the button for the doorbell my phone actually rings as if it's a FaceTime phone call and I couldn't be happier to be able to communicate with somebody at my front door from the backyard or even my bedroom with perfect easy and sound. If I'm waiting for a package to be picked up (I ship merchandise out as I have a business out of my home) and somebody is at my front door when I'm in my backyard I can easily tell them from my phone I will be right there instead of trying to rush to the door before they give up and walk away. It was extremely easy to install and it's extremely easy to use. It is awesomely compatible with my Alexa. Alexa tells me that "a package has just been set on your table" or "A person is at your door". That is so helpful it's insane. The first time I heard Alexa say that, I laughed out loud with complete satisfaction. Value for the money?? CHECK!! The cat outside was ringing the doorbell and literally peaking into the actual camera lens, as you can see from my video and pictures. I've tried to get her to come in to get out of the hot Florida sun but she will not. She is perfectly comfortable being in my doorway where there is shade and I always refresh the water out there for the kitties. During the video of her ringing the doorbell she's actually pregnant and I had no idea. When she came back and rang the doorbell again I noticed her belly was way smaller and a little tiny orange baby hiding behind her as if to say "mama or are you sure about this". When I opened the door and gave them their flower dish and fresh water as you can see in my photo everything was blissful and I got to watch both Mommy and one of her babies eat and drink with comfort and then fall back asleep in the shaded doorway. Look at the screenshot with Imou and RING together and see the difference. I still have to figure out a few things, but I know that it won't be difficult for me. So I have already canceled my subscription with Imou and am about to begin my actual subscription with RING because my free trial is up tomorrow. I wanted to wait the entire 13 days of the free trial before doing an actual review so that I can play with it and test it and see what it's capable of and boy am I ready. So yes, now RING will be getting my monthly fee instead of Imou. Would I recommend this particular product to people? Oh absolutely YES!!Ver másVer menos

  I am a Ring fan & this doorbell

  Ring has significantly upgraded the optical sensors in the latest generation. This battery doorbell offers crisp 2K HD resolution w/up to 6x zoom. I chose this model for the features, head-to-toe aspect ratios, which are fantastic for monitoring packages left directly on your porch. I also love that there is text of the movement description. Nighttime visibility is also excellent, featuring true-color low-light settings & sharp infrared night vision. I have spot lights on the house at night, they do not interfere w/getting great pictures. This wire-free model boasts Ring's highly efficient Quick release battery pack, super simple to remove, charge & put back together. I am told under normal conditions, you can expect around 120 days of battery life per charge. Although it was delivered only 20% charged & it took about 4 hours to fully charge. When it is time to recharge, a convenient USB-C port is used, not included. Alternatively, if you have existing doorbell wiring, you can hardwire these units for a continuous trickle charge but I chose to cap my old doorbell wires & just use the battery. So far it catches all motion near the front of my house which makes me sleep sound and secure. So far I am pleased with the quality & ease of use and installation.Ver másVer menos

  This review is for the: "Ring Battery Doorbell (newest model) — Retinal 2K with wide-angle video, up to 6x Enhanced Zoom, Two-Way Talk, and Built-In Battery, Speckled Gray". The doorbell works as advertised. I suggest you use double sided tape to put the doorbell up temporarily before using the screw mount plate. One of those things that, 'you don't know what you don't know.' Original doorbell button is in-set (see photo) and putting the ring there would not allow the cam to view the front porch area. The frame is thin enough that putting the ring on it would have the unit oddly 'too far out' and the unit is just almost too wide to fit on the white door frame.Downloaded the app, and the unit readily logged in to my wifi. Setup was easy enough. But the marketing! Ring really pushes you hard to pay for add-ons. For $100, I think it's overpriced for what it does. We had an Amazon gift cert so it didn't cost us anything. Ring is the heavy hitter in the business, so there's that.I put the unit on the door. It looks fine. But what I realized after is that this unit doesn't have a replaceable battery, and there's no reasonable way to run a charging wire to where it's mounted on the door. And there's not really any other location the unit would work with my door setup.I don't know how far the default view alerts to. I tried to scale the alert area down to include just our front walk. I think it's too sensitive and doesn't 'learn' as well as it's advertised. The unit still alerts on trucks driving along the street. It's supposed to be 'smart' with the ability to learn and not alert on things you choose, a feature you have to pay for after a free period (more marketing).Durability shouldn't be a problem since ours is in a covered location, and the quality of the video is good.Knowing what I know now, I'd have researched for a unit specifically with replaceable batteries. So, this unit works as advertised, but you will have to either place it in a location that you can run a charging wire to it (generally, most doorbell locations would work), or rather than this one, get one specifically with a replaceable battery so you can have a charged battery available.Ver másVer menos

  Love our Ring!

  We’ve had this for almost a week and we absolutely love it! It makes me feel so much better, I had packages getting stolen left & right. We live in an apartment and we get notifications every time someone passes and before we open it, it’ll tell us what they’re doing and what they have. If someone were just passing then I can read that & I know I don’t have to open it atm. It’s pretty neat! The setup was super easy and the picture is crystal clear. So far so good!Ver másVer menos

  Ring door cameras

  Work as described. Easy to go back in time and watch when need to. Have rarely been offline. We are pleased with them and they are providing the info that we need. Camera is good for closer up views. Not much detail of what is walking in the street. But can see the color of cars and sometimes the model. The motion detection is not as good as I want. It does not pick up each time a person enters or leaves through the front door. Product value for the price is good. Can hear what people are saying when have speaker on and turned up.Ver másVer menos
