Texas roots, Turkish soul, and a minor pump problem.

While this serum is distributed from Texas, it’s actually crafted in Turkey. That wasn't a deal-breaker for me, but it’s worth noting! The packaging is incredibly thoughtful—the included “Evil Eye” charm, explanation card, and sample packet were such a charming touch. I accidentally deleted my photos before I could upload them (oops!), but luckily other reviewers have captured how lovely the presentation is.As for the formula, it’s a beautifully viscous, fragrance-free serum that glides on smoothly and feels deeply hydrating. I’ve only been using it for a week—which isn't quite long enough to see a total transformation—so I plan to update this after a full month.So far, my only beef is the dispenser. It’s a bit of a "gas pedal" situation—it pumps out way too much for how little you actually need. My first attempt was a fail; I used bare hands on a dry face and my palms drank the serum before my cheeks even saw it. Now, I’m out here using nitrile gloves on a damp face like a skincare scientist. It spreads way better and ensures the product actually stays on my face, not my hands.Ver más

Effective, but do not use on sensitive skin or rosacea.

This “Even Tone Serum” contains azelaic acid, alpha-arbutin and niacinamide which work well together to increase the toning effectiveness of this serum. My skin tends to look blotchy and uneven, but this serum gives my face an even and smooth colored appearance. I saw a noticeable difference in my uneven skin tone overnight after just one use. I am even beginning to notice an overall brightening effect now that I have been using it this past week. This 1oz bottle stands about 4 inches tall and has a push pump applicator. The pump is strong and the serum is very watery, so it tends to dispense a lot of serum at one time. Because if this, the 1oz bottle may not last you as long as it should. I suggest removing the lid and applying the serum with an eyedropper to ensure you do not waste any of the product.In addition to toning your skin, this serum also contains ingredients that can help your skin retain moisture like glycerin and numerous forms of hyaluronic acid. The only downside is that in order for hyaluronic acid to be absorbed by the skin, your skin needs to be damp. If azelaic acid and niacinamide are applied to wet or damp skin, it can increase the chances of skin irritation. So in order to get the full “hydrating effect” from the hyaluronic acid you would have to risk possible irritation.Even though this toner contains hydrating ingredients, it can still leave your skin feeling "tight" due to the numerous botanical extracts in the listed ingredients that seem like they are just unnecessary additives. Applying a quality moisturizer immediately after this serum will help combat the "tight" feeling though.Even though this is an effective toner, I would NOT recommend it for sensitive skin. It contains peppermint, lemon balm, yarrow, and multiple different flower and leaf extracts. These ingredients can commonly cause burning and irritation to sensitive or damaged skin. I used this serum once shortly after I lightly exfoliated my face and it caused enough burning and discomfort that I had to wash it off.I was pleasantly surprised that this serum has absolutely no fragrance or scent to it at all, especially considering the amount of extracts in the ingredients. The lack of fragrance and consistency of this serum had me skeptical at first. The serum is odorless, clear, and very thin and liquidy. If I hadn’t been able to see noticeable results and differences in my skin, I wouldn’t have believed this serum was anything more than water. However, the results prove that this serum is effective. The one thing I wasn’t a fan of was the “sticky film” like texture it left on my skin. The “sticky” feeling does fade eventually but I would suggest using this serum at night or if you will not need to apply make-up within an hour of applying this serum.Overall, I will say this is a quality toning serum that is highly effective and I would recommend it for anyone who does not have sensitive skin, acne, or rosacea. Also, you should definitely wait at least 12 hours after exfoliating before using this serum to prevent burning and irritation. Just be sure to carefully read through the ingredients list before using this serum. The current listing for 18 dollars might be a tad bit steep for this product but I’d still consider it an “okay” value seeing as it is effective, fast acting, and even includes a small sample of uLOOK Calm Barrier Cream.

Bright Complexion

This Even Tone Serum is my newest favorite additions to my skincare routine and I am just so happy with it! The formula is sheer and completely perfume less, and not leaving any heavy or greasy feeling. It is a brightening and tone correcting powerhouse formula packed with niacinamide, azelaic acid and licorice root with a highly effective effect but not too harsh, thanks to the soothing and calming moisturizing power of hydrators such as hyaluronic acid and panthenol. The change in smoothness, health and perfect balance of my skin tone is amazing, and I haven't had to feel any tightness, dryness or strip with brightening products. I can apply my favorite night creams and morning make up over it and it layers perfectly, it's a real high quality bargain to fade away any dark spots and make my face shine and glow!Ver más
