Fantastic outdoor security cameras
I've been very impressed with the aosu SolarCam D1 Max so far. Setup was incredibly easy, and getting the camera connected and configured only took a few minutes. The physical installation was also straightforward. The only minor challenge is if you're mounting it on vinyl siding—you'll likely need to purchase a separate siding hanger or mounting bracket. Other than that, installation is simple.The video quality is excellent. The image is sharp, clear, and provides plenty of detail both during the day and at night. It's a significant improvement over some other outdoor cameras I've owned. Motion detection works flawlessly, sending me notifications almost instantly along with a short clip of the activity recorded. Importantly, notifications are easy to manage and mute temporarily if needed.The built-in solar charging works remarkably well. Even after two or three consecutive cloudy days, the battery still has plenty of charge, so I haven't had to worry about it running low. It's nice not having to think about recharging the camera. If solar charging isn't available, the camera can also be charged (or even "hard-wired") with a standard USB-C power supply.My only real criticism is that I'd like to be able to use the camera mesh feature without having to purchase an additional hub. It would be great if that functionality were built in, but it's a fairly minor complaint and certainly not a dealbreaker.The one thing I can't comment on yet is long-term durability. I've owned outdoor cameras from other manufacturers where the lens eventually became cloudy after a couple of years of exposure to the elements, making the cameras essentially unusable. I'm hoping aosu has addressed that issue with better materials because everything else about this camera has been excellent.Overall, the aosu SolarCam D1 Max offers an outstanding combination of easy setup, simple installation, excellent video quality, and dependable solar charging. Great camera! clean viewing..360 works killer!
easy install, works great! motion follows perfect! I like the night time light that follows people who walk by my house between 12&3 AM it puts a spot light on them and you really can see their faces. Love the siren sound it has too, it already helped scare some would be thieves away!Ver másVer menos

Do Not Buy. The AOSU app is absolutely horrible.
Do not buy this cam no matter how affordable it seems. The AOSU app is absolutely horrible. Read the app reviews before purchasing. The app is glitchy, rarely works, is not easy to use, and is loaded with ads. The entire purpose of the app is to make the user so frustrated that out of sheer exhaustion, the choice is made to try the paid subscription services from AOSU. I could go on and on about the app. When trying to view events, the video won't load, meaning what use is the cam if you can't see what has been recorded? I've tried all the suggestions...reformatting the SD card, restarting the cam, adjusting the settings, etc. My cam is near the router with a strong signal. My phone is near the router. Nothing seems to work except to drive the user so crazy that they try the subscription service to get access to their videos.The camera itself seems to work well. The picture is clear, the microphone works, it is fairly easily controlled from the app. But the entire purpose of the system is security, and the app makes it nearly impossible to use it the way it is designed to work.I've never been more disappointed in a purchase made from Amazon.Ver másVer menos

this camera was easy to set up and works great on motion detection. It's a great value for your money.

Full disclosure
As others have stated there is no mention of having to purchase a plan to have full function of your camera. The seller chooses to make it a hassle to view/clear videos on the SD card and manage the SD card without their plan. According to a pop-up message You cannot delete more than one video at a time plus, you cannot manage the SD card and delete all videos on it as you can, with other companies and other camera systems. If you do choose to purchase cloud with them, the rate jumps up with the more cameras you want to add.Another thing I don’t like about their system is the throwing of their advertisement at you wanting you to upgrade it confuses the screen. You can turn this off under other settings, which I finally found. Also, in the same area, you can turn off their daily reports function. This is how they give you a recap of all your videos of the day. This is drawing gig usage with my Wi-Fi and Internet connection.It is not clear on how to manage the SD card, but during set up, make sure you reformat this can delete any data that’s on the card if it is a used memory card, otherwise get yourself a new one.The high HD quality is good but not as good as other cameras that I have bought in the past. I was expecting very clear images and able to see distant detail. There’s not a zoom function, which is unfortunate unlike other cameras systems. You can zoom by stretching the screen, but that makes the picture muddy. I have another HD camera very similar to this one. You can zoom in and see the grains of sand on the ground.Don’t get me wrong. The video of this camera is very nice.Probably the most irritating thing about the camera video screen app is there when you’re viewing a seen live it will rotate off of what you’re watching and I can’t stop it. This has to do probably with the default camera position so if you’re watching something on your screen expect a move away from your view at the most inappropriate timeI am thinking if I delete the default camera position, in which you set during set up, I won’t have that problem. I will check it out but for now they need to change the operating program in this area.The system loads slowly and has to connect each time you want to view the camera. I have found that it drops often and hast to reload. It also default to the lower viewing optics and you have to go to HD. That seems to have to do with. It’s loading capabilities. Not sure why that is. this has nothing to do with my Wi-Fi connection because it is very strong and I have no problems with anything else on it, which this camera is the only thing running on it. The issue has to do with the camera itself and its ability to load and maintain connection, others, did mention the sameI do like the connection points and they’re all pretty much sealed so Weather does not get in.If you don’t mind paying an extra fee per camera to fully function as promoted then go with the system.

Great Security Cameras!!
Had a hard time getting it to connect to the internet, but once that was taken care of, it’s been great. I can see my home 1,000 miles away. The quality of the images are clear, and notifications come in immediately.
