Real-world speeds vary by carrier, signal, and location. Set up and manage from the free NETGEAR app on iOS or Android. Built-in firewall, WPA3 encryption, and automatic firmware updates keep your connection protected. Engineered by NETGEAR, over 30 years of networking innovation, FCC certified for the United States. WORTH IT! Don't cheap out. THIS is the hot spot you want.
I cheaped out and got some random Chinese hot spot. The thing was hard to set up and kept dropping out requiring reboots. I bit the bullet and got this instead. OH MY GOD, I should have gotten this in the first place. Easy to set up with either SIM or eSIM. Doesn't randomly drop. Just so awesome for travel. It's small... but a little dense. But I've gotten used to it being in my sling bag.Ver másVer menos

Expensive Useless Brick - Complete Fail for International Use
I bought this for international travel. It is a complete failure. The admin interface is terrible and difficult to use. The hardware advertised as an international hotspot - does not work in Seoul, one of the most connected places on the planet.Airalo works well on iPhoneAiralo does not work on M7Physical SK Telecom did not work on the M7SK Telecom techs made numerous attemptsSK Telecom tech stated the device is not compatible with Korean networks and the antenna is no good for South Korea.Netgear technical support was useless. After much wasted time, using my cellular data, since M7 a useless brick, the Netgear techs literally quit. They literally transferred me to multiple techs until the last one left the chat without fixing anything.Product does not work, useless “tech” support. Expensive useless brick,This is a POS for travel. Do not buy.Ver másVer menos

Handy device if working while traveling
The device is about the size of my hand. I used it Mexico and it’s faster and more reliable than just using my cell and I can use multiple devices. Wife and I were both on with three devices active. It’s says it can do way more like a small group way more - I think at some point we would bump up against the local infrastructure capability though? Not an expert. Even better than hotels Wi-Fi. Very easy to setup on the app. The rates in the app are by region and are very reasonable for eSIMs and waaayyy better than US cell service international packages rates (no surprise there). You can also use your own eSIM or insert an actual SIM. Very cool, I appreciate the flexibility. Will continue to use in Mexico a will try in Europe - I’ve heard good things about over there too. Seems robust, just wish they sold a protective case, not tossing it around or anything but I use on travel status. I put it in a cut up heavy sock and rubber band in my bag- very fashionable.Ver másVer menos

Excellent software but terrible battery life.
I am an engineer and travel extensively internationally for work. I first bought the TP-Link 5G M8550 hotspot, but sold it after using it for a couple of months because it would get extremely hot and shut off randomly.Next, I bought the Netgear Nighthawk 5G M7 (MH7150). I also used it for a couple of months before eventually selling it. In terms of functionality, the Netgear was excellent. The app and web portal were great, and I could access all settings, including diagnostic information, from either the app or the web portal. The reason I sold it was the battery life. With only my laptop and phone connected, the battery would barely last around six hours. I work outdoors in the field, and that battery life was not acceptable for my needs. The Netgear uses a built-in 3850 mAh battery. When I am working outside, I do not have access to power outlets, so charging is not an option. Carrying a power bank would also make my backpack unnecessarily heavy. When Acer released the M6E with its large 8000 mAh battery, I decided to purchase it as a replacement for my Netgear. The decision was influenced by a real-world comparison I conducted in Milan, Italy, where a colleague was using the Acer M6E. We inserted identical Vodafone SIM cards into both devices and ran multiple speed tests. Despite both hotspots showing a strong 5G signal, my Netgear consistently achieved download speeds of around 78 Mbps, while the M6E regularly exceeded 200 Mbps. We repeated these tests at several locations over the following days, and each time the M6E delivered roughly double the download speed. Battery life was another major advantage. The M6E's 8000 mAh battery easily lasts an entire workday without charging, whereas my Netgear would typically run out of power within six hours of very light use. The main drawback of the M6E is its software. There is no dedicated mobile app, and the web portal is extremely limited. Aside from changing the Wi-Fi name, password, and configuring a VPN, there is very little you can do. Overall, the software experience feels outdated and lacks many of the management and diagnostic features available on the Netgear. Software is the only area where I miss the Netgear; in virtually every other respect, the M6E is the better device.Ver más

Unexpectedly I like this device
I received the device and found it too simple for the high price and not quality enough. I decided to return it and Netgear via Amazon offered me $100 refund to keep it. I did so.Finally, after using it, it’s a reliable robust device. Work as expected..No touch screen. Market place is expensive and limited.Works well with Google Fi. Excellent battery.Pricing is too high. Work in US, EMEA, Asia. Excellent app. I used it at an hotel where the wifi was at 12mbps and Netgear gave me 100mbps positioning it besides the window of the room. I also bring it to the beach so my phone is not becoming hot in 5G and doesn’t drain the battery. Overall I love this product. Simple and efficient.Ver másVer menos

Not worth the purchase
It’s rarely worth the investment. The hardware is bulky, the networking is basic, and the ecosystem is far too restrictive. By blocking third-party eSIMs like Saily or Holafly, you're forced into the overpriced Netgear store.A better strategy? Use a one- or two-year-old Android device as a dedicated hotspot. It’s a superior solution in every category:Cost: Cheaper to purchase and cheaper to operate.Portability: Significantly smaller form factor.Performance: Better networking hardware and total flexibility with carrier profiles.Ver másVer menos
