Still Need a Chisel
The first half of this tool, the part where you smash it with a hammer to get the outline for the bolt cover plate, works very well.The second half, where you use the tool to gouge out the wood, well, I think I would rather use a proper wood chisel for this task. This mortise tool is just not precise enough to get a clean result. Granted, I tested on a pine 2x4 and maybe a wooden door might be softer, but you can see in the photo the "less than desirable" result using the mortise half of this tool.I would use this tool on an actual door for everything except the mortising. For that, I'd break out the chisel.Ver másVer menos
