  Perfect for apartment security n peace of mind

  I’ve been really happy with the Blink Outdoor 4 XR cameras. For what I need in my apartment, they’ve been a great investment. The battery life has been solid, the video quality is clear, and setup was quick and easy.The notifications can be delayed by a few seconds at times, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me. The AI-powered preview is one of my favorite features because it gives a quick glimpse of what triggered the alert. Most of the time I don’t even have to open the full video unless I actually need more details, which saves a lot of time.Overall, this system does exactly what I need it to do.   Do not buy because Blink will not send any replacement for defective cameras

  Over the past two weeks, I’ve been trying to get Blink to replace one defective camera from my 4‑camera system. One of the cameras cannot be found by the Sync Module XR, and the device label in the app shows the wrong ID. A Blink technician confirmed the issue and agreed the camera was defective. Blink told me twice that a replacement would be shipped “tomorrow,” but it has now been 13 days with no shipment.I called Blink again three days after the first call. They again promised a replacement “tomorrow,” but nothing happened. I also asked them to send me an email confirming our conversation so I would have documentation. They claimed they had already “sent” one, but nothing appeared in my Gmail inbox or spam folder.When I asked what email address they used, the technician read an address starting with “N…,” even though my email begins with “A…”. I had typed my correct email into their system, and they had my name and physical address correct, so the incorrect email was entirely on their end. The technician insisted I must have “told” them that email, which is impossible. Meanwhile, Blink trial‑plan emails were reaching my correct Gmail address, proving the system had my real email.After correcting the email address, the technician again promised shipping information “later that day.” Three more days passed with nothing except a generic “We appreciate your patience…” email.At that point — 12 days after the first replacement promise — I contacted Amazon. Their only solution was a full refund for the entire system. I explained that this was not equitable because I had already purchased accessories (batteries, micro‑SD cards, mounts) from multiple retailers, and I had already installed the cameras outdoors. Those costs exceed the price of the camera system itself, and the accessories cannot be used for anything else. Amazon insisted that “you can return them too,” even though they were purchased from different stores. They also claimed that even their “lead” would offer only a full refund.I suggested a reasonable alternative: send me another 4‑camera system, and I would return the set with a replacement of one good camera with the defective camera. Amazon refused and repeated that Blink is responsible. Blink, however, has not followed through on any of their promises.To make matters worse, I received a message saying I had been “upgraded to Blink’s Premier Service Plan” even though I had already canceled my trial. I checked Blink.com and saw the trial was still active, so I canceled it again and removed my payment information. Blink has not sent any confirmation of cancellation, so I have been checking daily to ensure they don’t reactivate it.Between Blink and Amazon, this has become a frustrating loop with no resolution, despite being a long‑time Amazon customer with thousands of purchases and Prime membership.And all I get from Blink is "thank you for understanding, we have a backlog..." so that means they aren't shipping cameras to new orders too? They are not shipping my camera replacement because there isn't any additional money for them!

  Great video and easy setup

  Blink is the BEST. Now have 2 Blink systems with 15 cameras!This second one is the XT (extended range, up to 1700 feet). With this I have one camera about 900 feet and it works perfect. Blink has a limit of 10 cameras per sync module but you can have multiple sync modules on the same application on your phone making monitoring of more than 10 cameras very easy. Setup of second sync module is almost a no brainer then adding cameras to the second sync module is very simple. Not only is the Blink camera system excellent and reliable, the setup couldn't be easier. If I could give their system 10 stars I would.Ver másVer menos

  Devil in the details

  I like the cameras. Decent pictures and pretty easy to use.The device for mounting the cameras needs rethinking. A couple of my cameras barely stay on. Have found one on the ground when it just fell off. They are pretty disappointing.The claim that the lithium batteries can last up to 2 years is a complete lie. They only last about 4-6 months if you actually use the cameras. These are expensive batteries and the only way you know they are dead is when a camera goes off-line and you replace them. The battery indicator is useless once the camera is off-line.One can use regular batteries but they go dead even quicker. There needs to be a better solution than lithium which is an environmental disaster to obtain.It is also pretty difficult to get a real customer service person to help troubleshoot anything.Be prepared to spend a lot of money on batteries with these devices.Ver másVer menos

  Peace of mind and easy set up

  Everyone I know has cameras in their homes, so when these came on a great sale on prime day, I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon. Mind you, I can hold my own, but am not all that tech savvy. This was VERY simple to set up. If you have more than one camera, you will need to purchase a sync module to connect them and that was an easy setup as well. Keep in mind where you will be placing these cameras and purchase the appropriate color that will make them less conspicuous. I purchased black not paying attention and I have them mounted on my white gutters. I used a little white paint to disguise them better, but you have to be careful, because you will cover up the motion detection if you do too much on the front! (Ask me how I know!)I’m too impatient to wait for an exchange so I winged it and found out the hard way. Thankfully., a little nail polish remover took the paint off the motion sensor and it works great. Depending on where you plan to mount the cameras, you may need to purchase two other things. An appropriate mounting station for your situation and a WIFI extender if they have poor connection where you place them. I’m still waiting for the doorbell to come as it was part of a prime day deal package, but so far I’m very pleased with the operation and set up. I can’t speak to battery life as I have only had them for about a month. The blink app keeps you updated on all of the cameras activities and functional features, as well as if something needs attention or can be improved by changing settings. Picture quality is pretty decent, but declines the further away you get, but I guess that’s to be expected with any camera. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and it gives me some extra peace of mind.Ver másVer menos
