Dual Tuning Modes, Tailored to Your "Personal" Preferences. The Volume S is specially designed with two distinct tuning modes and two separate crossover systems, allowing you to switch between them using the switch on the faceplate. One mode simulates a standard HRTF room acoustic system, perfect for listening to pop music, creating the sensation of being at a live performance. The other mode simulates a HiFi audio system with a natural -6dB high-frequency attenuation, offering a comfortable, natural listening experience that reduces fatigue, making it ideal for symphonic or classical music. Strip Pressure Relief Technology. Relieving Ear Pressure. The Volume S uses a physical rear-chamber pressure release structure combined with a built-in front-chamber high-pass filter patent(Patent No.: CN 215420702 U,authorized).This technology provides the necessary foundation for impressive bass performance while also eliminating ear pressure issues that often arise from fully sealed enclosures when dynamic drivers operate. This ensures a more comfortable fit for in-ear monitors while delivering natural, full bass. Artistic Faceplate. Aluminum Metal Meets Forged Carbon Fiber. The Volume S features a panel crafted from two different materials: the base frame is made from aluminum alloy, precision 5 axis CNC-machined with a sandblasted anodized finish that gives it a smooth, matte texture. The center is inlaid with a forged carbon fiber. Each piece of carbon fiber undergoes multiple manufacturing processes, from laying, stamping, and temperature control to forging and final CNC processing. The texture of each piece is unique. Depending on the angle, the light reflects differently, creating a bright, shimmering effect, showcasing a distinct and exclusive design. Self-Developed Special Diaphragm, ED Series Balanced Armature. The Volume S features a self-developed full-range driver. The use of a full-range driver has always been Softears' tuning approach. The very best, regardless of price

These are the most natural and beautiful sounding IEMs I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. They answer the question of "what happens if we got the sound of an HD650 but with bass extension". I can't really describe the sound of these with anything other than "correct". Bass has fantastic texture and sufficient impact, but it's incredibly clean and non-intrusive. I think they got it perfect when tuning these without an obnoxious sub-bass rise like most modern IEMs have, and instead with a flat shelf peaking at the mid-bass. The drivers move air in an intoxicating way; it's almost soft, but still with exceptional texture. The midrange is pretty much identical to my ears as the HD650, which is perhaps perfect in every way. All instruments and vocals sound as life-like and full as any other product I've heard, whether it be IEMs, headphones, or speakers. The treble is incredibly natural and smooth, while still being complete and evenly present. I believe part of the reason these are so good is because they get a good insertion depth, and were tuned as such, thus bypassing any weird effects we all have due to our ear canal structures and making a near-perfect neutral for most everyone.The Volume S only "struggles" with soundstage width and depth, and instead provides a more intimate and enveloping sound. Directional information and imaging are still fantastic, with all directions capable of being covered. The Volume S doesn't have a very large overall stage size, but I've actually found that to be a strength. The soundscape somehow ends up being more life-like than any headphones I own. When testing with RDR2 and Oblivion Remastered, I feel less connected and "in the environment" when using the DCA E3s compared to the Volume S. The soundtrack envelops my head while the environmental sounds (birds, voices, gunshots, etc.) are staged outwards and with good direction. In contrast, my headphones all have the soundtrack a bit pushed out and all environmental queues are a bit too far out, making it feel more like I'm listening to the game rather than being in the game. I've always considered soundstage to be an overrated characteristic, but these are my definitive proof and nail in the coffin.As for comfort, these are one of the few IEMs that fits me securely, however they do get uncomfortable after about an hour. My ears don't do well with most IEMs; they either do not fit securely or are uncomfortable after some time, with the only ever exception being custom IEMs. As a result, I sent these to ADV to get custom silicon eartips made, since these will be my new daily drivers and very likely the only product I listen to.Lastly, the accessories are fantastic. The carrying case is my favorite case of all time, being made of a soft and beautiful leather. The cable is of good quality, and the eartips provided are well loved in the audiophile community. The build quality of the IEMs is great, though I do wish the silly impedance switch did not break up an otherwise pretty faceplate. Speaking of which... the high impedance mode is as bad as everyone says it is. This review, and any listening of these IEMs, is on the low impedance mode.Despite having these other products for years, my DCA E3s, HD650s, and Aful Explorers will likely all be sold once I get the Volume S and new custom tips back. Only my Polar Nights will remain simply for ambient sound and convenience when needed... I really don't see a need for another audio product other than this. I highly recommend these to anyone who is looking.
