Love your 1st Family Series!
I love a very busy life running a law office and grandmother. I used to be an avid reader with my husband a retired police officer of 22 years until he died 8 years ago. I had just begun to read again and cameacross this series and love it as my husband would have, due to the realistic portrayal of realPolice work. Love the plot line, realism, intrigue and cliff hangers. Bitter sweet with out the love of my life reading with me and the discussions of his life experiences to compare to, but has brought back some wonderful memories and learning to relax getting lost in your stories. Can’t get enough!!
Every time I read this series I feel like I know these people so well. I always enjoy reading about my favorite book couple and all of their friends and family too. Their interactions, humor, and love is what makes these people so special.As always we get a great homicide case to follow and investigate, and this one was a shocker. Could not believe the outcome! I love that though otherwise it would be too predictable and boring. This is anything but. Full of twists and turns and new threads to pull as Sam always says. I was hooked as always from the beginning. Interesting turn of events in Nick’s world with his mother, if you can call her that, surfacing again in a heap of trouble. As well as that they issue with the joint chiefs.Loved it and can’t wait for more of my absolutely favorite people!!Ver másVer menos

Murder to solve
Sam and her team have a horrible murder mystery to solve. Freddie takes over the case. A scary dangerous situation happens to someone close to Sam and Nick (no spoilers). Sam still has the weird feeling around the VP. The homicide team is going strong but some are still dealing with past trauma and waiting on outcomes. Great Page Turner
I love all of Marie Force's Sam and Nick books. State of Denial us one of my favorites. It has romance, mystery, suspects, family love, fellowship and police work. Ms. Forces draws on characters already well known to the reader and gives them greater depth. You have to fall in love with this quite unique first family, and the people surrounding them. Additionally, the readers gets a prospective of the workings of cops working a murder, They are viewed as real people having the cop skill set, along with lives and emotions of every day people doing important work. Also you view crime victims and the people they leave behind as needing support. A lot of important ground is covered in a well written story that I needed to finish, and then,, wanted the next book to read..Ver másVer menos

Another Grand Novel!
This is a great series. The central characters are believable, endearing and fun, especially the First Children. Sam Holland is not without faults, as are we all, but her dedication to her family and jobs are amazing.I'm a life-long reader, especially of mysteries and I find that just when I think I know "Who dun it", I'm surprised.Ver másVer menos

Captivating
Marie Force could have easily named this book State of Chaos and it would have been apropos. The week in the life of President and First Lady Cappuano is explosive to say the least. Many of the plot points in this book are eerily similar to real life news and current events and Ms Force weaves them seamlessly into State of Denial. Both Sam and Nick have their hands full juggling their jobs and their families needs. Old hurts resurface with the arrest of a family member. An investigation of a six victim homicide has Sam's team scrambling. A betrayal in the upper echelon of the government has Nick scrambling for answers and having to make some hard decisions. Ultimately, things are resolved with some interesting twists and turns. As with every other book in the Fatal/First Family series, I was completely captivated from the outset. There are some books whose characters are so realistic that you become invested in them. This is one of those series.Each book engages you, invests you. Eine Romanze verbunden mit Krimi und viel Insider wissen aus dem Weißen Haus. Diese Serie ist einmal was anderes .

Another winner!
Each Sam and Nick that comes out is better each time. The connection and Chemistry between the Cappuano's gets hotter and hotter. Seeing them grow as a couple but coming into their own as parents is heartwarming. Marie is so talented the reader feels like we are on this journey with them.The supporting characters are pretty amazing as well and the way it is all set out smoothly for us to catch up with them.I have never read a book by Marie that I have not LOVED!HER BOOKS ARE ALWAYS A FUN AND SUCK YOU RIGHT IN. She is amazingly talented. They are always filled with romance, drama, comedy, steam and in this series mystery and intrigue.I can't wait for the next book!!Ver másVer menos
