Absolutely love this camera! Perfect for watching my newborn!
I bought this Sight Bulb camera to keep an eye on my newborn baby and I absolutely love it! It was super easy to install — just screw it into the light socket, connect it to my Wi-Fi, and download the app. I can easily check the live feed from my phone whenever I want. The motion detection with alerts is great for peace of mind, and the night vision works well so I can see clearly even in low light.Overall, this camera does exactly what I needed it to do, and then some. Highly recommend it for parents or anyone looking for an affordable, reliable way to monitor loved ones!Ver másVer menos

Unreliable
This is the second unit I've tried. With the first one, neither the motion notification nor the motion tracking worked at all, so I returned it for a replacement. I was happy when I set up the replacement as the tracking and notifications worked as expected... for a while. After after a few hours in service, both functions stopped working, but then started again, then stopped again, the started again, etc. On the third day, the event history had disappeared and the SD playback function did not work. Also, the app is a little cryptic and while the online tutorial tells you how to activate various function, it doesn't cover all of them and doesn't explain what they do very well.I had high hopes for this at first, but am thoroughly disappointed. The only reason I would give it one star is that it is a very good camera with clear images and good remote controls via the app.Ver másVer menos

As a Retired intelligence agent, this camera is excellent for placing it around my house to keep it under surveillance.

Easy to use once it’s setup
Overall, the Sightbulb WiFi Camera is a great solution for those who want to self-monitor indoor/outdoor activities. Still, it’s not a monitored home security system, so don’t expect that level of security or peace-of-mind from it.Full Review:The camera is easy to operate in the app once it’s installed and connected (I’m using an iPhone 12), but it took about fifteen minutes to handle the technical side of things. The step-by-step instructions in the box are easy to follow, so there shouldn’t be a big problem getting it set up. Just take your time. Make sure you know your WiFi password because you’ll need it. You’ll be spending some time in the app settings to tweak things to your specifications.The two-way speaker allows me to hear the neighborhood kids and tell them to get off my lawn without ever having to walk outside.The motion detection only works in the direction it’s pointed, so if it hears something going on behind its field of vision, it won’t automatically turn to record that detection; motion detection alerts are dismal. This was a concern because it doesn’t send the motion alerts to my phone every time, and it appears as though the app must be open in the background of the phone to receive them at all. It does record and store the motion it detects as an “event” that can be reviewed, but I only received a few alerts to “live view” for the 40 or 50 events it captured. I like that it tracks movement, so it follows the person or object it has detected.The size of my light fixture impacted its function. It’s also a big unit, so consider where you will place it. Since it’s a camera, it does have some weight to it (my regular LED light bulbs weigh 1.2oz, but this is 7oz). It’s also longer than a regular light bulb. My fixture was shorter than the bulb, so the camera was obscured at times.I set it up in the daytime, but at nightfall, the LED light it uses for night vision reflected off the metal and glass in my fixture, so the camera was blinded at times and had to be readjusted to a position that works for both day and night.A 64GB memory card is provided (even though the setup guide says it’s not), but it doesn’t say how to install it. Since mine is outside, I didn’t like that the memory card was so visible and could be removed so easily by anyone who pushes it.Ver másVer menos

Can’t be too far from router.
After receiving the bulb I noticed that the sd memory card was not included and it’s supposed to be per the Amazon description. It was not in the box even though the label on the box said it was included as well. I installed it and the setup was not all that straight forward either. I will probably have to move it closer to my router as well.I called Amazon and they are shipping me another sight bulb that hopefully will have the SD memory card included per the description and the box the bulb was packed in. So Amazon responded quickly and without hassle. However, if the replacement bulb doesn’t have the memory card again, I will ask for a full refund because the card is supposed to be included.After changing internet providers to fiber this bulb was impossible to reset. It wouldn’t and when it looked like it was it failed every time. Removing and reinstalling didn’t work. Removing the bulb from the socket and starting over failed as well. My WiFi would not connect with it, but my front security doorbell did after some work. I happened to have a less known type security bulb I used before and screwed that in and setup it again. My WiFi found this one again and it works. Again…the Sight bulb brand is over advertised for a reason. It fails too often. I do NOT recommend the Sight bulb brand. Buy an “off” brand.Ver másVer menos
