  Amazing alternative to expensive brands

Like most, our smart home setup is a bit of an ad-hoc combination of different brands. For this reason, I was hesitant to add yet another with these Linkind bulbs. That being said, I was looking to add color lighting to our finished basement for a kid's party, and the cost of the 6-pack from Linkind was close to what I'd have paid for one single HUE bulb.Cost savings aside, these bulbs perform close to, if not just as well as their HUE counterparts. At full brightness, I feel that the HUEs deliver slightly more luminance, however, there are a number of benefits (in addition to being a fraction of the price) that more than compensate for that!I was not thrilled when downloading the AiDot companion app, as I already have a collection of subpar "brand-specific" automation apps taking up space on my phone, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The UI is very well-designed and responsive - even more so than the native HUE app I tend to use at times in place of invoking Alexa. It also offers a great variety of pre-set color schemes, many of which feature interactivity with your music or television audio (a huge hit with the kids)! Aside from being "yet another" brand-specific automation app, my only gripe with the AiDot app is the prominence of its selling components. To be fair, these are not "ads", but rather a store function (which is found in many other manufacturer's apps); it just feels like it should be tucked away in a less "in-your-face" presentation.Integration with Alexa is essentially a non-issue. I installed all six of these bulbs in my basement, and by the time I was screwing the fourth one in, Alexa had already recognized the first two and was prompting me to assign their names and rooms. I'd like to say the process was intuitive, but in truth there really is no process at all - they really are plug-and-play as far as Alexa is concerned. My "configuration" really just consisted of creating Alexa routines so we can invoke the AiDot color scenes we liked using by voice.Apple homekit has been a different experience entirely, but I'm not prepared to fault Linkind in any way for that. My apple "automation" has never proven to be reliable in any way, and attempting to add these bulbs to homekit was no exception. To this day, I have not been able to have homekit recognize a single one of these bulbs using qr code, serial number, network address, mac IDs, back magic, or pleas to the gods of home automation. Again, I'm not blaming Linkind for this - these are really the first matter products I've owned, and I guess my hopes were that this feature would help with apple integration. This was not the case. The only comparative "con" I'll offer here is that apple integration is obviously a bit of a challenge, unlike my HUE bulbs which do appear in and can be controlled by homekit (presumably due to the presence of the latter's hub device). In summary, if your primary automation platform is apple-based, I'd recommend researching these before buying. If like me, Alexa is your go-to for smart home functionality, these bulbs are an exceptional value and perform amazingly well. If I could go back in time, I'd install these in place of the dozens of HUEs I have without hesitation! One thing I CAN say I've been happy with using HUE is their longevity, something for which I can't speak to with the Linkind product as I only installed them about a month ago. Hopefully, they offer an equally long lifespan, but considering that they are a fraction of the price, anything close can be considered a net win!Ver másVer menos

Decent single-admin Matter over WiFi bulb

As long as it can talk to your WiFi network, you can get it working, but it speaks Matter, so you can do so much more. The Praise========+ Standard Matter-over-WiFi that connects using WiFi 3 (Previously 802.11g)+ Just Works™ with a proper setup+ Full color options and dimming - RGBW+ Matter-over-WiFi does not require a Matter hubThe Raze=======- Struggles to function in multi-admin setups- Non-linear long transitionsThe Haze=======* WiFi 3 has higher airtime use* Networking know-how recommendedThe Details...There are two ways this can be approached: With or without a dedicated Matter Controller. You get more capability with a Matter Controller though. Home Assistant or recent Amazon Echo devices work fine as controllers, keeping in mind that they should be on the same WiFi network as the bulbs, otherwise AiDot will work instead - like it will work with any Matter devices on the network.People who are getting bulbs like this often know what they are looking for before they buy, otherwise they should be willing to learn and have fun. Since both of these kinds of people shun excessive explanation, I'll simply provide the details that I wish I knew beforehand. Not the admin! The bulbs have distinct trouble when set up in multi-admin settings. To the point that one Matter admin is fine, and when two were set up, every bulb randomly fell off the network and never recovered until power cycled. Needless to say, this is not great. But with a single Matter admin, they work well. Rock solid in a sandstone kind of way - one problem on one bulb in four months, solved by a quick power cycle.Transitions? 10, 9, 8, 0!One of the built in features of Matter is the transition time configuration. The controller should be able to tell the bulb to slowly turn off or turn on over a number of seconds or even up to over an hour. These transitions should normally be linear across the time period. In this case, the bulb treats only about the top 30% of the power level as the transition range, making transitions from low power somewhat tricky without workarounds.Colors! The full RGBW set of LEDs in this means that it can handle a wide gamut of colors, from variations on white and near-white to specialty colors. A great example is Red, 1%, as a night light that doesn't interrupt sleep at all. It's important to remember that one bulb is one color at a time. You won't see a rainbow on the bulb like the RGB in computers, so make any necessary rainbows out of multiple bulbs. Why WiFi?Being WiFi, they do need a good signal where they are installed. It's also not necessary, but good practice to segregate them onto a separate network and restrict their ability to communicate with anything but the controller. Being WiFi 3 (g), they do take up a chunk of 2.4GHz airtime, but most people who are not pushing their 2.4GHz network to extremes will not need to worry about this - the impact is less than a hundredth of a percent of airtime per bulb.In the end......the trouble with multi-admin had me fighting these for a while, but once I got that figured out and kept it to a single admin system (on Home Assistant in this case), they became reliable and useful. Set it and forget it and get your automation going. You'll find these to be an excellent option for bulb-based smart lights without getting into the complexity of Thread.

Nice piece of tech, works great out of the box in a breeze, looks and responds fast!

Got it today, was the easiest tech product I have setup in recent times. Bulbs just worked as advertised, was able to reset and add again (couldnt figure out how to add to haos after I added it to AIDOT). Matter pairing just worked like a breeze. Light offers so much customization, and is very fast to respond over matter so if you use haos, one advantage of AIDOT setup over wifi so far that I can see is haos misses out some of the presets aidot offers. I may recreate a couple of needed ones as presets in haos and that should do it. Will likely buy another pack.Ver másVer menos

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rock-solid Matter connectivity, but one bulb’s blue LED failed after ~5 months

I bought the Linkind Matter smart bulbs (the color-changing A19/E26 ones) and overall I’ve been impressed—especially with connectivity. The Matter pairing and day-to-day reliability have been excellent for me: no random disconnects, no “offline” bulbs, and no re-adding devices. If you’ve dealt with flaky smart bulbs before, that part is genuinely refreshing. What I like1) Matter connectivity is very good (the main reason I’m rating them positively). They’ve stayed connected consistently and respond like they should. That’s the whole point of buying Matter in the first place.2) Bright enough for normal rooms. These are 800 lumens (60W-equivalent class), which has been plenty for typical lamps/fixtures in my house.3) Good feature set for the price. You get full color plus tunable whites (the product line is typically listed around 1800K–6500K depending on the exact variant), and they’re designed to work across major ecosystems through Matter. The problem (why it’s 4 stars, not 5)I ordered about 6 bulbs ~5 months ago, and one has already developed a failure in the blue channel. When a scene or color needs blue mixed in, the colors are no longer accurate—and when I set the bulb to pure blue, it’s basically off (almost no light). That’s not a software/Matter issue; it behaves like a hardware LED/channel failure. So while connectivity has been flawless, one bulb needing replacement this soon is disappointing.Quick notes (to avoid common setup headaches)These typically require 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and are not meant for traditional dimmer switches (smart bulbs + dimmers can cause weird behavior).Bottom lineIf you want reliable Matter connectivity, these have been great in my setup. But because one bulb’s blue LED failed within ~5 months, I’m giving them 4 stars. If Linkind’s replacement process is smooth, I’ll feel a lot better about long-term durability.Ver másVer menos

  Peace of mind!!

Really nice little bulbs! Takes wondering if a light accidentally got left on away... Which is nice!.. also it's pretty cool that I can just walk into my room and say you know "Hey Alexa!".." turn the bedroom light on please"... AND BA BANG!!!.. let there be light!!!.. but for real, these things were really easy to set up. As soon as I turned them on, Alexa was already trying to pair with them.. All I had to do was put the bulb somewhere where within reach and I could turn it on just for the initial pairing of the bulb to whatever platform software or whatever you use or have integrated I scanned the QR code on the side of the bulb for the pairing process and other than giving that bulb a name and associating it with a bedroom or whatever like whatever you have to do and that's all I had to do. I didn't have to go searching and all that other stuff. You just turn it on as soon as you start getting prompts for pairing from your phone And you select to pair the option for scan QR code is one of the options and it's very easy and quick. Cool thing is you can make them play to music. You can sync them throughout your house. You can turn lights, dim or bright in different rooms. You can change the color of the lights in the different rooms and like I said you can also have the peace of mind of knowing no matter where you are, what lights are on in your house without having to even be in your house!Ver másVer menos
