  Love the redesign!

  I had the previous version of this, where the charging cable was at the bottom, so you couldn't charge it with the phone on while it was on the stand. That was the worst part of that charger, it was annoying, but I loved that it had a strong magnet and worked well. So even when it got wet from me dropping the bag it was in in the ocean, and the charger wasn't working great anymore, I was on the lookout for the same one. Thankfully they redesigned the new one so the charging port is on the side, and now I can charge the batter bank, while using it as a stand for my phone. It's extremely useful and I'll even be able to get rid of my phone stand at work (which was just a phone stand, with no charging capabilities). The MagGo also charges my MagSafe capable AirPods Pro case, so It works on multiple levels. There are only 2 things that are not great. First, that it doesn't give my iPhone 12 Pro Max a full charge, but honestly to me it's just a way to give it some extra battery life since I'm notoriously forgetful about charging my phone... The second is that like others here, i wish the kickstand was just a bit more stable. The magnet on that side isn't very strong. If you're just going to use it as a stand, or not touch it while you're watching something, it's totally fine, but it doesn't take much to collapse it. Their 633 model has a better kickstand it seems, but I think it sacrifices the clean look of this model, so I guess it just matters what you care about. I still give this full stars overall because it's exactly what I was looking for, works as intended, and they fixed the previous issue. If I ever accidentally submerge this in the ocean also, I will probably get it again (maybe next update will be to make it more waterproof?).Ver másVer menos

  I love this portable charger and don’t go anywhere without it. It usually gives me about one full phone charge and then a little extra, which is perfect for when I’m out and about.I chose this version because it’s smaller than the other one they offer. The larger one seemed a bit too bulky for me, so this size works perfectly and is much easier to carry around.The only downside is that it takes quite a while to recharge the battery pack itself—it can take several hours.   Perfect for me!

  Anker has a wonderful reputation of making good high quality products and I’ve gotten multiple of their cords and their charging banks with great experiences, and this is no different. It’s slim, generally light weight, feels great in the hands, good side, and comes with the bonus feature of a built in kick stand that reminds me of my iPad cases. The magnets are strong and the MagSafe is very good, especially with a case on your phone that also has added MagSafe magnets. The indicators on the side near the button are nicely lit and clear and I find I can get about a full charge and a half out of the battery. It does make the iPhone very warm, but MagSafe is generally that way since inductive charging isn’t as efficient, so it’s definitely a give and take there. Speed isn’t the best, but it’s not the worst either. It’ll keep your phone alive. Generally, I’d suggest using this when not using your phone. Also, if it’s in a pocket charging your phone, it’ll make the phone overheat very fast, so be aware. I definitely recommend getting this battery bank. It’s reliable and has given me a very good experience overall.Ver másVer menos

  Good for a Quick Fix

  UPDATE Sep 25, 2025 - ok. Here’s the latest. Used the charger during a power outage the other day and hooked up the iPhone, didn’t use the phone just left it to charge. It did not seem to heat up much other than the normal temps expected from charging. It took the phone to 50% in a fairly decent time, and the power bank was stable, only using a minimal amount of juice. I think the reason for overheating and backtrack as mentioned in my previous update in August, was the constant usage and also because my iPhone was processing (indexing) an iOS update. So, bottom line with this latest update, I am ok with the Anker power bank. It’s small and effective, I recommend if powering up your device, let it charge without much activity on the phone until it gets to a good power level. I took it to half on the phone battery then plugged it into an Apple charger for the remainder to 100% when the power came on to the house.UPDATE August 22, 2025 - I don’t use this that often maybe about twice a year, but today I needed a charge on the go so I slapped it on the back (the power bank had a full charge) and the charge on the iPhone went from 2% to 8% (slowly) then back down to 7%, 6% and it ran the iPhone very warm. Not going to use this again. Seems when things work in reverse it’s time to quit. I really liked it the first few times I used the charger, but for some reason it malfunctioned. Didn’t even use it much, this Anker charger was for emergencies. Very sad.FIRST REVIEW -Just got this MagSafe charger today and before I took it into action with my iPhone 13, I gave the Anker a full charge. ‘Snapped’ on the iPhone that was already at 78 percent and it’s been a couple hours with it showing only 82 percent. But, this is not a “power charge” mechanism. It’s for emergencies when you need to keep your device alive. While charging the Anker, I monitored the heat factor and it wasn’t at all anything to be concerned about. Stayed at a very mild temp. When charging my iPhone the two devices stayed at a comfortable temperature, letting off some warmth but not anything to sweat over by any means. Bordering warm/cool.I’m now looking at the charge status on the iPhone and it has stopped charging at 82 percent. My iPhone Settings in Battery Health are set to “Optimized Battery Charging”, meaning in order to protect the phone’s battery, once the charge reaches 80 percent, it will be sufficient to use for the usual activity. I could turn this setting off on my iPhone 13, but prefer to conserve the phone’s battery life since I plan to keep it for a few years.This is a ‘trickle’ charge but in an emergency when you need a ‘fix’, it is definitely worth having handy.All in all I really like this totable MagSafe battery charger. When I need a charge on the go it’s there in a snap.

This kind of service gives me confidence in continuing to use their products!”———————-This battery bank has a solid build and decent capacity, but its biggest drawback is how long it takes to charge itself , it requires several hours to reach full capacity, which can be inconvenient if you need it ready quickly.   Will Not Purchase Again

  I use this product with an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a silicon MagSafe case (not Apple brand).Pros: The battery does its job well. It locks onto my phone case securely, and it does not fall off. The charge is quick. I get about a 60% battery charge when my phone is dead. It is small enough to easily store in a bet bag, purse, or carry-on bag. The color is aesthetically pleasing, and the battery is made out of high quality materials that are easy to clean. The kick stand on the back of the battery has been very useful when I’m either in my office or teaching.Cons: The battery is easy to damage. It does not come with a protective bag, case, or cover for storage, and it’s difficult to find one that fits the product. I had to purchase one separately. The battery takes a few hours to fully charge for the next use, and it heats up quickly once it’s connected to an iPhone. It can’t be stored inside of a closed area such as a purse or a bag while it is in use, or the iPhone and the battery will overheat. That being said, the battery doesn’t take long to cool down once it is removed from use.The convenience of a MagSafe battery is worth $40, but the product needs some improvements before I would buy a second one.Update: The seller (Anker) reached out to me via an Amazon message to offer a full refund on this battery because of my 3/5 start review above. They also asked if I would be willing to give the brand another chance. I was open to giving the brand another chance because sometimes electronics simply do not work as they’re supposed to, and it’s nobody’s fault. This is an inherent limitation to any engineered product. I replied that I would be willing to accept another battery instead of a refund in an attempt to support the brand since they were kind enough to reach out. This, however, is where the positive experience ends. My response to their question was sent to a second Anker representative who picked apart my initial 3/5 star review above. They reduced the offer to a 50% refund and asked me to return this battery. This would put me out of $25 and the battery, which does not make sense seeing as I did not request a refund or a return for this purchase. This was an uncomfortable experience, so I’m not sure if I will purchase or review Anker products again.Ver másVer menos
