Great Hard Drive and Easy
Was stupid af and thought it was a 3.6 no I just can't read sometimes! It's great and holds just about everything I need and almost another lifetime more. Not a bad price and so far very reliable, thank you!

Still working..
Still going strong, but that's what I expect from Western Digital. Been connected to the PS4 for years.

Almost plug and play for a 2011 Mac desktop! Excellent!!
My long-time backup drive died after months of agony. One day, there was the dreaded "Disk Utility cannot repair" message. Ugh!! So, what to replace it with? Read a bunch of reviews on Amazon and elsewhere, and decided on this one. I have a 2011 Mac, so it had to be something that doesn't require a Thunder port, or some other exotic interface. I'm no computer genius. Let's get that out there up front. I wanted something that had sufficient capacity for all the work documents, photos, music, and whatever else, all in one place. And if it has a small profile? All the better.Plugged this in and waited... Cannot read disk. :( Ok, now what? Right! Reformat! So, I did. That took a few minutes, then I tried again. Success! Click click, and now Time Machine is silently backing up to this new drive. Perfect! It takes up almost no space (slightly larger than a deck of playing cards), doesn't use an electrical outlet, doesn't whir and grind next to me (as the former backup disk did), and I'm backed up and ready to go in case of emergency (or the inevitable replacement computer).I've had this now for a couple of weeks, and I can say I'm very pleased.Edit: It's now January 2024. The little disk drive is still going strong backing up a different Mac computer. Silent, inconspicuous, and doing its thing in the background.Ver másVer menos

Great little storage drive.
So far it's been great. Good speed if you plug it into a USB 3.0. Doesn't require an external power source. Small and very portable. Overall its been a great option for additional storage.

Mostly a good inexpensive convenient external portable HD.
I have 7 of these of various sizes, 1, 4, & 5 TB.I like their size, their quiet operation, their price, and easy set up.I use 2 of them for Time Machine backups on Mac, where they each incrementally backup alternating hourly. Four of the others I use to do larger chunk backups once every 2 weeks. The seventh one is one that is failing.Five of my seven show 100% Health on my DriveDx disc analysis software. One of seven failed after a couple of years of use with 187 "pending sector count" problems. The other has been in use only about a year and has 6 "pending sector count" issues. (Drives with sector count issues are 16 times more likely to fail within 60 days than those with 0 sector count problems.)So 5 ÷ 7 is about 70%. I've gotten 5 years out of 5 of them, 2 years out of 1, and only 1 year out of the newest. Hence 4 stars.Overall, I'd recommend them. I've just ordered more of these as replacement for the "6 pending sector count" one, and two new ones to setup a new backup system for my wife's computer. I figure due to losses, I add 30% $$ to make up for the failure rate/replacement cost to give me the cost per stable unit.Ver másVer menos
