Fun for the whole family
My son fell head over heels in love with Brain Flakes at school when they introduced a rainbow fish. He was so enamored with them that we couldn’t resist buying them for home use. The first night we opened the box, he was overjoyed! These Brain Flakes are not just fun for the whole family; my two-year-old particularly enjoys putting them away, which is great for developing fine motor skills. Everyone else loves building and creating new things with them. Considering how rough boys are with toys, their durability is a huge plus. They come with a guide, and if you’d like, you can purchase more Brain Flakes. I highly recommend these Brain Flakes, especially for your autistic children!Ver másVer menos

Perfect busy toy
I had surgery and needed busy toys for my 4 year old. This set has kept him busy for hours and my 13 year old has built the coolest stuff too! They’re surprisingly sturdy after they’re built, some of the more intricate designs have survived drops with zero damage.Ver másVer menos

What a great toy at a great price!
What a great toy at a great price! The pieces lock together tightly enough to stay, even after multiple uses. There are plenty in the set to build pretty much whatever you want (although now I kind of want 3 more sets, just to see what I could do!) There are enough interlocking places on each flake that you can build most shapes. Best of all, it makes you think, but in a completely fun way! If I was still in the classroom, these would be a MUST for my kids. My 3-year-old loves them and can put them together and take them apart, but I think they'd be even more perfect for older kids.Pros:great, saturated colorspieces stay together even after multiple usesLOTS of pieces for a great priceno sharp edgescan build almost anything you can think of (we made an alligator, a ferris wheel, a lamp shade, and a pot of flowers)fun and educationalCons:to put them away in their jar, you have to take them all apart or they won't fitTwo of my 500+ pieces had slight defects. Entertaining!!!
Toddlers love these!! Easy to connect & build shapes. There’s a slit on the lid that allows you to drop piece by piece in (like a piggy bank).

Unique building toy - fun and different
I got this toy for my granddaughter who is 3 years 9 months old.The storage bucket is pretty good, with a screw-on lid so things inside will STAY inside. The handle on the lid had a tendency to come loose, but that's not a huge issue. There were plenty of "flakes" in the bucket, in a nice variety of colors.The flakes themselves are pretty solid. They are large enough that I think it would be "difficult" for a child to choke on one, but smaller children should still be supervised. The flakes fit together by connecting slots, and snap together firmly. Each flake has 8 slots positioned evenly around the edge (so "north", "northeast", "east", "southeast", "south", "southwest", "west", and "northwest"). The sizes aren't perfect - if you attach 8 flakes to a central one, then 8 more to an outer ring, they will overlap very slightly, but not enough to make an issue. All construction will use "octagonal" forms rather than "hexagonal" which is probably easier for kids to understand. It means that structures will naturally build right angles and straight lines.The paper instructions included excellent step-by-step directions for 3 structures, showing exactly how many pieces of each color were needed and how to fit them together. There were pictures of a dozen or so other structures that could be built, with several noting that you needed more than one "bucket" to make them in the colors shown. The instructions for those items were accessible by QR-code from the manufacturer website, so not ideal for kids but reasonable especially if you were to print them ahead of time.My grandkid (not quite 4 years old) is not quite up to the recommended 5-year point but was able to connect the flakes herself into a simple straight line and then disassemble it again, but didn't quite grasp the nuance of 2-dimensional building strategy. She's probably a little too young to really appreciate them but will grow into them over the next few months. Nonetheless, she was able to use them adequately.
