This is an OEM key and it works accordingly.
The key is an OEM Subaru Master Key. In my application of a 2005 Subaru Legacy Limited Station Wagon, it was interchangeable with aSubaru part number 57497AG10A which I was able to find elsewhere. My Subaru dealer cut the key for free (!) for me when I went to buy some other repair parts that had to be purchased from the dealership. There were no hassles and the newly-cut key worked perfectly the first time. I now use it as my primary key and keep the oldest key as an emergency use only master. The key is not a copy of the "real deal"; it IS the real deal. It looks nice and functions perfectly. Considering that the car will be in some pretty remote areas, I did not want to take a chance on some weird compatibility or durability issue down the road.Ver másVer menos

Bends key chain rings - works well otherwise
Its a key. It works.Only issue is that the metal loop at the end of the key where the keychain ring goes through is REALLY thick. I bent many rings out of shape trying to get this sucker on.

Went to get it cut and the dealership was unable to program/cut it because there is no chip in the key...

This would be an amazing key, but somehow in Japan they don't cut these keys...FML

Good key but a little expensive.
Needed a spare key for my 93 Lecagy wagon because the key I received when purchasing the car was very flimsy and I was scared it would snap in half eventually. No Walmart or Home Depot in my area had the correct key size to copy my OEM key so I went online to find one and here we are now. Home Depot copied my OEM key onto this one and it works perfectly. Only issue is the price but you are paying for quality and conscience of not having to go to a dealership.Ver másVer menos

Works GREAT with my 2000 Suba Legacy L Model
When my blank key arrived (together with my key-less remote) my husband and I programmed the key-less remote and then went to Home depot and ask if they made car keys copy and the associate seemed a little lazy and said yes, but that he can't make a copy with my blank key. So my husband and I then went to Walmart, like another customer suggested on here, and they for sure were so polite and nice and helped us out. They made us a copy with this blank key and also gave us the copy key they make all for just $1.89. We left super happy, and then we tested it with our car, and wa-la it worked perfectly. So I also recommend anyone who doesn't want the boring and dull key that the older Suba models come with to buy this blank key and go to Walmart to get their copy done.Ver másVer menos
