The book was wonderful I did not realize That here was so much history of the Rogue area in he book worth reading for those that do not know the history surrounding the river and the people

Beautiful, vivid, lovely.

The vivid descriptions of nature bring Rogue to life. After returning from a trip on the Rogue River, I saw it again from the perspective of those living on the river,and felt I knew them as the author drew out their stories.

I don't give 5 stars very often, but this is great. It doesn't hurt that I'm an Oregonian and familiar with the places in this book. That always adds a lot of fun. But it was an exciting book and a great story.

Action, romance, redemption…. a great read!

My headline says it. Hard to put this read down. Quintessential Zane Grey with his fantastic descriptive style. Well done!!

Complex story that fails to reach it potential

This is a great read!! I thought it a little slow at first but don't let it fool you it really is a great read!! It has a great story line with a great ending, so keep reading its well worth it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did!!!

One of my favourite writers of westerns. Enormously descriptive writing really creates the scene. And of course a happy ending.

A great story that held me from start to finish, from the setting of the story the terrible injuries the equal injustice heaped on an innocent man, the live that saved him made him whole again, a great story with so much glory of the summer in the mountains

I chose a five rating because it was a good read and a gentle read it was different to what I normally read but I did enjoy it
