This is Incredible.
I knew I wanted a copy of The Brothers Karamazov that would last, and this Penguin Classics hardcover is absolutely perfect. It just feels right in your hands—sturdy, with a beautiful, simple cover and pages that lay flat, which is a huge plus for a book this big. The Pevear and Volokhonsky translation is as good as everyone says; it makes Dostoevsky's masterpiece feel so alive and surprisingly readable. If you're finally tackling this incredible novel, do yourself a favor and get this version. It's worth every penny and is a book you'll want to keep forever.Ver másVer menos

Hardbook Is Great But Peeled Off
Let me first say that this is a great copy of TBK. The the hardback binding is great and the line spacing and font are as good as you're going to find. It's definitely the most readable version I've seen and the bookmark is an essential. That all being said, as you can see from my images the books cover will undoubtedly become damaged over the course of reading this book. If you're just buying it for display then you won't be disappointed. I actually don't mind it that much because it gives it a real war-torn aesthetic but if that's something that will bother you may want to look elsewhere or just be more gentle than I am.Ver másVer menos

What a wild ride!
I enjoyed this book but I did need some help. I used various resources to help me understand the exact meanings of some aspects. Overall I really learned a great deal about Russian literature and Dostoyevsky. Looking forward to Crime and Punishment.

Poor quality binding.
Binding of the book was disappointing for such a great piece of literature.
