Yes!!! Perfection!
This was my first Jill Ramsower book, I came across the synopsis on FB and it intrigued me! I have to say I really enjoyed this Read! I love Mafia Romances, I’m a sucker for a Dangerous man and when you throw in a romantic one who’s obsessed with the female lead, I was a goner! I loved Noemi and Conner’s story. Noemi is so strong, she has been through a horrible accident and lost the most important person to her. To find out her father is responsible and now he’s threatening her to keep silent or he will murder the only other person she has. Ohhh I was so invested. From the moment Conner sat down at that diner I was just giddy! I loved their chemistry and how over the hill he was for her, she really got up underneath his skin. They are in an arranged marriage, another one of my favorite tropes! She wanted real love and family man, not a made man. He wanted a wife that would be silent and not interfere in his life. What they both got was so raw and beautiful. I honestly have to say this was just so good! It was never boring or slow. You would go from steamy to heart pounding terror to mush and then back to being riddled with anxiety! This was an Amazing read! The characters are beautifully written and I’m dying for the next books! This is a standalone series, but once you start you will be dying for the others stories!Ver másVer menos

Most excellent. Nearly five stars.
A five star tale but a minor editing/proofreading imperfection brings it down to four stars. I so wanted to give this a five, but what then to give when I come across a perfect book? With no imperfections at all?I love mafia romance. I love the forced, arranged, and fake relationships. There are four authors of this genre who I am a great fan of. Now here is the fifth.This book grabs one's attention from the start, and just keeps holding on. Part way in, you come to realize that this is excellent writing, and you come to appreciate the author's intelligence. You even find yourself laughing in a place or two.This is good story telling. It lacks the annoying repetitiveness that so many writers wrongly decide is necessary. I was intrigued by the idea of a mute heroine, and am happy I bought the book.While I highly recommend this book to other readers, I also recommend the author choose a new editor who will provide professional proofreading service.Ver másVer menos

Found a new obsession!!
I love romance books but I usually read small town romances. I started to get a little bored with those and thought let me try something different. In my search for something different I came across this book and decided why not. I am sure glad I did because this was amazing! It’s wasn’t just the romance it was also the action. Good read!
I picked this book up because I enjoy mafia romances, and it delivered many of the tropes that fans of the genre look for. The story follows a mafia princess who is married off to a powerful mafia man in order to solidify an alliance between their families. While the setup is a familiar one, the author did a solid job with character development, which kept me invested. Both leads were fleshed out with enough personality and backstory to feel engaging, and their chemistry had some genuinely strong moments.That said, the plot itself felt a little predictable. It follows a storyline I’ve seen in several other mafia romance novels, duty over choice, tension turning to passion, loyalty to family versus loyalty to love. While it’s executed well, there weren’t many twists or surprises to set it apart from other books in the genre. For readers who are new to mafia romances, it will probably feel fresh and exciting. For those who have read quite a few, it may feel a bit repetitive.Overall, I’d rate this a solid 3 stars. The writing is smooth, the characters are well-drawn, and the romance has the right balance of danger and allure. It just didn’t bring anything particularly new to the table plot-wise. Still, if you’re in the mood for a classic arranged-marriage mafia romance, this book delivers exactly what you’d expect.Ver másVer menos

Wickedly enticing
I loved Connor and Noemi. Their story is full of rich emotions, sizzling heat, pulse-pounding action, tantalizing twists, sinful darkness, nerve racking tension., and just the right amount of heartstring tugging, this book grabbed hold of my heart and consumed my mind. My heart simply cracked in two for Noemi and Connor had me sweating and swooning. I am very excited to read future entries in this wickedly enticing series.Ver másVer menos

4.5 stars!
I loved this so much! This was my first time reading and it is by far one of my favorite reads of 2023.This author’s writing is sooo great! The way she uses her descriptor words to describe something, really made me feel like I could see the character in front of my eyes.However if you’re looking for sex — there is only a few scenes and they don’t happen until about 78% in the book.I adored both main characters. The MFC was fierce, even though for the first portion of the book she was mute. She did not wither underneath the power that both mafia families possessed and she was also strong and feminine as well. I appreciated the fact that when she was wrong, she admitted it and took ownership and asked for forgiveness. That to me is part of what makes a woman, strong & healthy.The MMC was great as well. He was strong, loyal & determined. He loved the MFC the way she should have been. He was very perceptive… like he rolled a 20 on perception. He was firm, but could change the way he acted around his wife (Noemi, Em). The way his fierceness drove him to utterly protect his wife is something so right… so masculine. I loved him for her.The only negative I have for him was the fact I felt he became a little too dependent on his feelings for Em. However, he still was able to take care of business.I appreciated Pip & Shae as well. Their sassiness was perfect for the story! It added and didn’t take away anything! Bishop was fun & goofy, which balanced the MMC’s character (Conner) and gave a refreshing break when needed!TL;DR — great writing, great characters & development, great story.
