Sofa Edges Survived A Long Workday Alone
I work long blocks and I used to come home to the sofa looking wrecked. Piping torn. Foam on the rug. That was the pattern. I fastened a dog pheromone collar, left a chew, and stayed off the camera till I pulled in the driveway. The cushion corner was intact. He had slept on the bed like the afternoon had been boring, and boring is the goal in this house.Next morning I ran it again. Same collar. A short walk around the block first so he was not sitting on a full tank. When I came back the remote was on the table, not on the floor in pieces. Destructive chewing is one of the bad behaviors these collars are built to take down, and that lines up with what I walked into. I rinsed him in the yard and left the collar on. Waterproof means I am not guessing whether a splash kills the thing. Unused collars live in the drawer by the leash. I will swap when this one feels spent. For now I am not taping piping at night, and that alone would have been worth the order.I talk less when I leave. I used to do a long goodbye that probably made the leaving louder in his head. Now I clip the collar, fill the bowl, and go. The house is quiet when I get back. Quiet in the good way. Not the ""what did you destroy"" way. The collar sits in the daily pile with the keys and the badge because that is where the stuff I actually use lives. I do not baby the strap. I do not take it off for the yard. I put it on and I leave and I come home to furniture that still looks like furniture. The chew I left was only half gone, which tells me he settled instead of hunting for something to shred. I can walk to the fridge without scanning the room for stuffing. That is a different house than the one I had been coming back to.Ver másVer menos
