OTA Update for iPhone 18 Works, But...
OTA firmware update providing PD3.2 and AVS functionality for iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max worked for me on September 30. However, purchasers of this product in the coming weeks or months must be sure to select the "iPhone 18 Compatible" box on the product page before ordering. When you receive the product, look for the text shown in the photo accompanying this review.Background. I have purchased five of these chargers in the last 90 days: four in June 2026, and one in late September 2026. Each is marked "Model A121D" on both the product page and the device. However, they are not identical. The versions I purchased in June 2026 do not permit OTA firmware updates. I contacted Anker customer service, and they indicated the only way to distinguish the versions is to look at the box. At the moment, Anker cannot even distinguish which devices permit OTA updates by serial number. The OTA-capable and OTA-incapable products themselves are indistinguishable from each other. As of the date of this review, the box is the only way to determine whether a device is OTA-capable without actually trying to perform the update, consistent with the guidance Anker customer service provided.I hope this review prevents frustration for owners of older models and helps prospective buyers ensure they pay the extra amount (currently $5) to get the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max optimized charger.Ver másVer menos
