Cool Little DAP
First off, I love the form of this DAP. It reminds me of old iRiver and Sony Walkman MP3 players of the early 2000s. I'm so tired of rectangular slabs that look like smart phones. This was right up my alley in terms of design aesthetic. It is light in the pocket. Fairly easy to navigate, maybe less so if you never owned a similar style player back in the day. The sound quality is great. Adding an SD card is very simple.Sadly I do have a few gripes. The biggest problem is the short battery life. For a simple device like this I would hope for the battery life in the ballpark of 16-24 hours. This seems to get 5 hours with FLAC files. The other issue I ran into is that it ignores metadata when browsing the Media Library. When you look at an album you see all the filenames, but on the Music Playback screen it displays the metadata for the song. This means you have to edit your filenames with the track number at the beginning to have albums play in order. The playback order may have been partially fixed in a firmware update but I haven’t tested it yet. It still shows filenames while browsing on version 1.4, hopefully they can update this in the future.Lastly, this doesn’t have Bluetooth. This isn’t a total dealbreaker for me or else I wouldn’t have purchased, but it is a downside. With all that in mind I think this device is a bit pricey for the quality it delivers. This device is far from perfect, but I'm still glad this gives me a way to listen to music away from my phone. Hopefully firmware updates in the future can fix some of the issues I have with this device. I wish they made the device a little larger to fit a bigger battery. That alone would’ve probably made this 5 stars for me.UPDATE: They seem to be coming out with frequent firmware updates. Not sure how frequent they will be in the future considering it’s a new device. My device game with version 1.2, now updated to 1.4, which doesn’t fix every issue but it is promising.Note based on another reviewer - The SD cards do not get stuck in the player. You need to use a fingernail or a tool to push the SD card in which will release the card. I use the long part of a standard plastic pen cap to press the card in. I you had 2 separate SD cards get stuck inside 2 different devices that’s 100% user error.Ver másVer menos

Best bang for buck
For 50 bucks, this is one hell of a retro player. Using it with sony in ear monitors, really enjoying the sound quality

The Minimalist's MP3
I never expected to be able to buy a lightweight MP3 player in 2026—thanks you Fiio! This is a minimalist DAC, there’s no album art, just the music itself. The build quality is excellent. The matte metal finish feels much better to the touch than the sharp edges of its predecessor, the Echo—Fiio has really improved in this regard. The only two Complain are the somewhat weak battery life and the fact that the initial release didn't include a clip. I hope Fiio makes the clip available soon so I can attach the Nano to my clothing.Ver másVer menos

gorgeous tech but the DAC functionality isn't working with my iPhone.
gorgeous little piece of technology but I ran into some issues when trying to set this up as a DAC passthrough for my iPhone. Followed instructions but it refused to actually work. As a result, I've had to limit myself to using it as a dedicated MP3 player or a DAC for my PC. I typically am pretty fickle about audio but paired with my daily IEMs this has very nice fidelity. As I mentioned, the biggest downside is that it currently doesn't work with my phone, so I have to constantly import new music to listen in MP3 mode. I'm someone who always discovers new music on a daily basis so it's a hassle having to constantly import songs to enjoy them on the go. The whole point was to use it as a DAC for my phone first so I have access to my streaming services. I think if this issue is fixed it's worth the price, but as it stands now I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe I got a dud.Ver másVer menos
