Great capture card that works well, was easy to set up, and gives solid video quality.
I’ve been using this NEWCARE capture card and honestly it’s been really good so far. Setup was pretty simple and it worked without any hassle. The video looks clear, the connection stays stable, and the 4K pass-through is a nice bonus.What I like most is that it just does what it’s supposed to do. No weird issues, no lag that I noticed, and it has been reliable for streaming and recording. It also feels well made, not cheap or flimsy. For the price, I think it’s a great deal. Great Capture Card
This device works like a charm after some tweaking. I use a late 2013 HP workstation.I love that this is only preloaded with a driver. It uses open source programs with great reputations instead of proprietary software.While you can record on PotPlayer, the video quality is bad and it takes a while for the videos to save to your folder. It’s great for playback though as it will play your OBS video files.OBS has better quality and saves faster, but is prone to lagging issues. The lagging issue I had pertained to my computer. After a lot of searching my take away is:Run the program in Admin mode. Dothe configuration in the instruction manual for the video portion, but skip it for the audio portion. Find the properties for the Digital Audio Interface, and set it to “Listen to this device” on the Listen tab. Create an Audio Input Capture, select the Digital Audio Interface, and save.In the audio mixer section, move the faders for all but your Desktop Audio to the bottom. Use the Desktop Audio to eyeball the sound levels, then turn that fader all the way down when you’re ready to record or you’ll get an echo.From there, record using the provided instructions. The instructions suggest setting your video exports to 1080, but that might not be the right format for your video depending on how old it is. I found that I needed to drop my video settings down to 720p for my 16:9 videos to assist with the lag. Also, due to how and where the videos would be played, 720p wasn’t a bad compromise.Best way to tell if the recording is synced in this case is to record something and see. I found the video is out of sync when monitoring, but syncs up during the recording.I really enjoyed and am real happy with this capture card.Ver másVer menos

Worked Great -- An Easy Way to Get HDMI Video Into OBS
This worked great for me, and it does exactly what I wanted a capture card to do.A very typical use for something like this is taking the HDMI output from another device -- a game console, camera, cable box, or even another computer -- and bringing that video into your PC so you can record it or use it in OBS.In my case, OBS is the most obvious use. Instead of pointing a camera at a screen or trying to cobble together some awkward workaround, I can feed an HDMI source directly into this capture card, connect the card to the computer by USB, select it as a video source in OBS, and record from there.The pass-through is especially useful because the signal can continue on to a TV or monitor while the computer captures it. That means you're not forced to watch everything through the OBS preview window.Setup was refreshingly uneventful -- plugged it in, OBS recognized it, and it worked. Video was smooth, and I didn't notice any troublesome lag for the kind of recording I was doing.At just under$60, this isn't one of the ultra-cheap generic capture dongles, but after using it I can see the difference. It feels like a proper little piece of video equipment rather than an experiment.Worked great. Worth every penny.Ver másVer menos

Easy to use and no drivers/software needed
I like this VHS-to-digital converter adapter because it has everything needed in a compact form factor that is very portable and easy to store.One of the things I particularly like is the range of analog inputs. The included cable provides composite video through the yellow RCA connector and left/right analog audio through the red and white RCA connectors, and it also includes an S-Video connection. This gives you several options for connecting older VCRs and video cameras, depending on what outputs your equipment has.It is also USB 2.0 and includes a USB 2.0-to-USB-C adapter, so I can easily bring it with me to friends’ and relatives’ houses without having to worry about what type of USB port their computer has. USB 2.0 is still very common, and having the USB-C adapter included makes it convenient with newer computers as well.Setup was easy. Windows 11 recognized the device immediately, and I was able to use the included software without any modification or complicated configuration. With the included cables, there isn’t much to set up between the VCR/Video camera and computer.One thing worth mentioning is that VHS and other analog video sources simply are not high resolution. The video can look surprisingly low-resolution when viewed full-screen on a modern high-resolution computer monitor, but there is nothing wrong with the converter. You’re simply seeing the limitations of the original video recording.For the best possible results, I would recommend using the original recording whenever possible rather than a copy. For example, if a video originally came from a Hi8 or other higher-quality video camera and was later copied to VHS, digitizing that original source should give you better results than trying to recover the quality from the VHS copy.The recording worked smoothly and doesn’t require a particularly powerful computer. The conversion happens in real time, so essentially you press play on the VCR/Video camera and let the adapter record the video to your computer. I recommend initially saving the recording locally rather than directly to a network or cloud location so there is less chance of an interruption from a network problem. With analog tape, finding the exact spot where you left off can be difficult if you have to restart a recording.Overall, this is a very useful little adapter. It is compact, portable, easy to set up, and gives you the connections needed for a variety of older video equipment. At this size, there is really no reason not to keep one along with the cables and connectors I consider essential.On setup, no drivers were needed for windows 11, but the audio and video inputs need to be selected in settings. A clear printed instruction manual is included and made for a simple to follow setup.I did knock off 1-star as the AV cable to connect between card and device was missing the insulator on one lead, I have plenty so wasn’t an issue, but would have been frustrating and it is such an obvious quality control issue.

Not for older people who struggle with computers
This Digital Video Converter isn't exactly a converter. It allows your computer to capture any video going into this device, which is why it is called a capture card. While it can will display video you put through the device, you still need software to view and record it.My issue with this is that while it is an okay and affordable device to capture old tech like VCRs, DVDs, and Retro Game Consoles, it didn't include any software with it to do it, or any kind of instructions on how to use the device. While it is plug and play, your computer will install a driver for it, having to track down info on the device, or any type of support for it is very disheartening. While I did get external software to detect the device and was able to get it going, I can't recommend this for someone who isn't a bit more advanced with computers.Also, while I want to knock if for the quality of video/footage is produces, I can't really tell if its the device or the fact that I'm trying to record anywhere on the lower side for 480 progressive or 480 interlace. However, if you are desperate to record footage of a VHS or an old home video, this will work if you know what your doing.For the price, it's decent, but if it was easier to use, I would give it a higher score, but if you struggle with using computers, this isn't for you.Ver másVer menos
