Replaced my Sony Stereo Receiver
Works great. Setup through TV. Easy enough and has some great start-up options. You can program 4 Scenes and quick access them on the remote. Pleased with the sound.

Great Entry-Level Dolby Atmos Receiver
If you're looking for a great budget AV receiver, this is an excellent choice. It supports Dolby Atmos, 4K/120, eARC, and all the modern features most people need without a lot of unnecessary extras. Setup was straightforward, and it has performed flawlessly with my Apple TV 4K and Samsung S90C.I'm only running a 2-channel setup with Klipsch RP-600M speakers, and the receiver does a great job downmixing surround sound while still delivering a full, immersive experience. If you want an affordable receiver from a reliable brand, this is easy to recommend. When it goes on sale, it's an outstanding value.Ver másVer menos

Protect mode
This is my second try with this particular unit. the first one went into protect mode, apparently where it just shuts off and there’s no sequence of buttons to bring it back to life. I called Yamaha tech-support in California. They said there’s nothing an end user can do to return it. so I tried again. Apparently most modern receivers don’t have the option to use a sequence of buttons to bring it out of protect mode.Ver másVer menos

loud and Crystal clear sounds great
just receive it is worth every penny it sounds so badass it's unreal even regular TV sounds like a theater I wish I would have got it sooner definitely worth every penny you will not be disappointed at all loud crystal clear sounds great think everybody should own one you definitely won't be disappointedVer másVer menos

Other options out there!
Bought this to replace and older unit I have had for years. The setup for this was strange. The wire hook-up in the back were similar to the one it was replacing, which was nice. Swapped out easily. The instructions and the onscreen set-up was all bad. This unit, although supposed to be an upgrade, just doesn't offer as much as my previous unit (also a Yamaha). Sound quality is just off and there isn't as many preset options, sports, movies, etc. I would return it if I didn't want to go through setting another one up.I'm positive there are better options out there, steer clear of this one.Ver másVer menos

NEED TO KNOW - da Remote Control
Yamaha RX-300A *UPDATE (Yamaha emailed me, on the side of the remote make sure the button is in the "UP" position. MAGIC...from 3 Stars to 5!Out the box the "power" button says assign zone B then doing so, it still doesn't cycle on/off the mains.Too the volume and mute button don't work. Using eARC, my tv remote adjusts the volume. However I use Digital Optical Port (2ch), not HDMI.GOOD NEWS, bad news... I have an aftermarket remote for the Yamaha RX-V663 and it'll control volume/mute &&& powers off the receiver but Will Not open settings/menu; need both remotes to function.Otherwise, IT'S AMAZING for its price (understatement) because you CAN tailor the EQ/X-overs, tone etc and you'd have to be One of Them not to like GALORE the RX-300A...if the remote hadn't signal issues.Ver másVer menos
