Small changes make this more user friendly
I almost passed on this because I already owned a very similar model from another brand, and I hated it.When that one arrived, my husband opened the box out of curiosity and pressed the power button. It startled him, he dropped it, it fell onto our dining room table, and proceeded to do a surprisingly convincing impression of an orbital sander. We both just stood there watching it with growing horror. After that, I pretty much wrote off this particular design style.I’m glad curiosity got the better of me because this model is much more thoughtfully designed.The biggest improvement is the backlit buttons. I didn’t realize how much that mattered until I compared it to the similar model from the other brand. That one has dark, embossed buttons on dark silicone, so the icons disappear into the surface and all of the controls blend together. The illuminated buttons on this model make it immediately obvious which control is power, mode, or intensity. It sounds like a tiny change, but it’s one of those design decisions you don’t appreciate until you’ve experienced the alternative.I’d also describe the motor as more rumbly than buzzy. I mean, I feel like everyone’s got their preference. It’s less aggressive than the similar model from the other brand, which I actually prefer because it feels like the focus was on having more control rather than simply delivering the highest possible output.If you’ve dismissed this general style because of a bad experience with a similar looking product from other brands, don’t assume they’re all the same. The subtle engineering decisions here genuinely make big improvements.Ver másVer menos
