Very good colors and contrast
This Samsung Odyssey OLED G7 is an incredible monitor and easily one of the best display upgrades I have made. The first thing that stands out is the picture quality. The OLED panel is stunning, with deep blacks, rich contrast, and colors that look vibrant without feeling artificial. Games look dramatically better, especially darker scenes where the true black levels make a huge difference. Everything feels more detailed, more immersive, and more lifelike compared to a standard monitor.The 32-inch size is also a great sweet spot. It is large enough to feel immersive for gaming and media, but still practical for everyday desk use. The 4K resolution looks extremely sharp at this size, and text, icons, games, and videos all look crisp. Whether I am gaming, watching content, browsing, or multitasking, the extra screen space is very noticeable. It feels like a premium display from the moment you turn it on.Gaming performance is excellent. The 165Hz refresh rate at 4K makes gameplay feel smooth and responsive, and the fast OLED response time is immediately noticeable. Motion looks clean, with very little blur, and input response feels quick. For fast-paced games, it makes a real difference. I also appreciate the dual mode feature, which lets you switch to Full HD at a much higher refresh rate when speed matters more than resolution. That flexibility is one of the best things about this monitor because it gives you options depending on the type of game you are playing.The colors are another highlight. The screen has a polished, high-end look, and the color accuracy is impressive right out of the box. Games, videos, and even regular desktop use look beautiful. HDR content especially looks fantastic because the contrast is so strong. Bright highlights stand out without washing out the darker areas, and the overall image has a depth that is hard to describe until you see it in person.I also really appreciate that Samsung includes a 3-year warranty with burn-in coverage. OLED monitors are amazing, but burn-in is something a lot of buyers worry about. Having that warranty gives extra peace of mind and makes the purchase feel much easier to justify. It shows that Samsung is standing behind the product.The design is clean and modern, and the stand is very functional. I like that it offers height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, so it is easy to get the monitor positioned exactly how you want it. It feels sturdy on the desk and does not wobble during normal use. The setup process was straightforward, and the monitor felt premium from unboxing to daily use.For productivity, it is also excellent. The large 4K screen gives plenty of room for multiple windows, spreadsheets, documents, or creative work. Text looks sharp, and the vivid display makes photo and video content look excellent. While this is clearly built with gaming in mind, it is not limited to gaming at all. It works very well as an everyday monitor, especially if you want one display that can handle work, entertainment, and gaming.There are a few things to keep in mind. Because this is a high-end OLED monitor, it is definitely an investment. You will also want to be mindful of OLED care, such as not leaving static images on the screen for long periods and using the built-in protection features. That said, those are normal considerations for OLED, and the image quality is worth it.Overall, I am extremely happy with this monitor. The combination of 4K resolution, OLED contrast, fast refresh rate, quick response time, strong color performance, ergonomic stand, and warranty coverage makes it feel like a complete premium package. If you are serious about gaming and want a monitor that also looks amazing for everyday use, this is a fantastic choice. It has made my setup feel much more high-end, and the difference in picture quality compared to a regular monitor is immediately noticeable. Made Me Realize What I'd Been Missing
I've built and upgraded gaming PCs for over a two decades. I've owned monitors at every price tier from budget 1080p panels to mid-range 1440p 144Hz displays that I thought were excellent. I say all of that so you understand where I'm coming from when I tell you that the Samsung Odyssey OLED G7 is the biggest visual leap I've experienced from a single hardware upgrade in a very long time.The moment you load up any game with strong contrast between dark and lit environments, you immediately understand what OLED means in practice. The blacks are not dark gray. They are not "really dark." They are black and completely absent of light in individual pixels. Paired with the vivid, Pantone-validated color reproduction and the high peak brightness for highlights, the contrast ratio creates a depth and realism that an LCD panel simply cannot produce at any price. Playing a game set in space, or a horror title, or anything with dramatic lighting results in the experience is qualitatively different. After about a week of use, going back to my old LCD monitor felt like putting on sunglasses.The 4K (3840x2160) resolution at 32 inches is a sharp, dense image. Combined with the OLED panel, fine texture detail in games looks exceptional. Character models, environmental detail, and particle effects all benefit from both the resolution and the per-pixel lighting. While I don't use it for much detailed creative work, the Pantone Validated color accuracy means creative work also looks correct on this display, so it pulls double duty for both gaming and photo editing.The Dual Mode feature is more useful than I initially gave it credit for. At first I assumed I'd just stay in 4K 165Hz and never touch it. Then I tried a competitive shooter in FHD 330Hz mode and changed my mind completely. The smoothness at 330Hz is a different sensation than 165Hz. There is a noticeable resolution on closer inspection, but in the middle of a fast-paced match you're not scrutinizing texture detail, you're tracking motion. And the motion at 330Hz is remarkably fluid. The mode switch takes about three seconds and the monitor remembers your preference, so switching between gaming styles is painless. It's a genuinely clever solution to the resolution-vs-refresh-rate tradeoff that most monitors just force you to live with.The 0.03ms response time is real and perceptible. There is no ghosting on fast-moving objects, at least none that I've been able to find regardless of how aggressively I've looked for it. Combined with both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility, the experience is tear-free and stutter-free across the full refresh range.I want to address the glossy screen because it comes up whenever OLED gaming monitors are discussed. Yes, it is a glossy panel. In a room with unmanaged lighting, such as a bright window directly behind you or an uncovered overhead light, you will see reflections. In my setup with controlled lighting, I have had zero issues. The glossy coating is part of what enables the deep blacks and vivid colors; a matte coating diffuses the backlight and reduces contrast, which defeats the purpose of OLED. Manage your lighting accordingly and it's not a problem in practice. To be honest, I don't think I can go back to a matte finish monitor as the clarity is just amazing.The ergonomic stand is excellent. Height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and pivot are all covered, all smooth, and all hold their position firmly. The ambient lighting features on the back of the stand sync to screen content in real time and cast a soft bias light that reduces eye strain during long sessions. The build quality throughout feels premium and the three-year warranty on an OLED panel is meaningful reassurance for a long-term investment.If you're a serious gamer who has been debating whether an OLED monitor is worth the step up from a high-end LCD, the answer is yes. The Samsung Odyssey G7 OLED delivers on every front, from visuals, response, and flexibility to build quality. It is the best gaming monitor I have owned, and I don't expect to feel the need to upgrade it for a very long time.

Looks great despite losing some high-end performance
This is my first proper OLED monitor, despite owning smaller panels before, and while I do like it so far, I’m not particularly blown away by anything. That being said, it does have all the essential specs I’m looking for and is really easy to set up with the included stand which is great for adjustments (and control with the on-screen button), so it does seem to be a great overall choice for me.I’m using this as a secondary monitor for my dual Mac and PC setup, which brings some challenges that might not matter for some, but matter for me. Just like my main monitor, this monitor is 4K, HDR-ready, and Pantone validated. And the screen looks good, though I wasn’t immediately blown away by the contrast—which is the whole point of OLED for me—next to my main monitor. But it certainly is noticeable when in HDR mode and streaming media, which is precisely what I’m using the monitor for (otherwise, I turn it off because I get nervous about burn-in).What makes this particularly hard to review is that, even though I’ve had this for over 2 weeks now, there is absolutely no user guide nor software or driver support from Samsung yet. Support told me they are still working on getting these out. This is quite a pricey product to have without any user manual. It’s also frustrating to have no official page for drivers or software when the product listing mentions that there should be display software. But I’m being patient and trust it will work decently enough.I’m frustrated with the 32-inch size because the pixel density is slightly less crisp than I would have hoped, and it doesn’t scale as well on macOS in this size (27-inch displays work better), but it’s honestly workable for me, so it’s not a big deal. I really am frustrated with the ports on the back because there’s only one Display Port and one HDMI (and NO USB-C), which doesn’t give me space to put in a console in another HDMI without relying on a switch. Also, because I need to use the Display Port for my PC, it requires me to figure out how to get the HDMI over to my Mac when I really would have liked to see a Thunderbolt port, but with switches and adapters, I’ve made it work.I’m happy with the refresh rate for media and gaming, though I wish it could go higher than 165Hz at 4K. I don’t see any use for lowering resolution just to increase the refresh rate beyond that, and I wish they had a higher 4K refresh rate at this price point, but it’s all around good for gaming.Despite my quality of life issues mentioned above, it does work as a secondary monitor for gaming and media quite well and is a good fit for those who want a great OLED monitor without too many connections. Without any manual or software available, there’s not too much I can critique or correct myself on beyond what I’ve said. Hope this helps!

I am so impressed, but I also have some concerns as well...
If I hadn't had prior experience with OLED gaming monitors: this would be an absolute leg sweep impression for anyone coming from LED monitors. That said, I have a 39" ultrawide OLED 1440p 240hz that I use as my daily driver PRIOR TO reviewing this new monitor. Additionally, I am a owner of one of Samsung's previous odyssey gaming monitors: So I feel that I have quite a level of experience from mid-tier to high tier to make the statements I'm about to make.The monitor has a glossy screen (don't believe everything you see on reddit) that looks so good and lacks reflections I'm at a complete loss how they manage to pull it off. Because of the glossy finish and the state-of the art contrast and brightness this panel has: you'd never know by looking at it unless it was turned off.When you consider the Dual-Drive mode: Samsung clearly is attempting to target at-home gamers who also want to practice for e-sports level performance. 330hz at 1080p sounds great on paper, but unless you're competing in esports, most in 2026 aim for 1440p or 2160p (4K). As for refresh rates: 165hz 4K when there are better 4K options available at 240hz; it just feels like the ideal market for this monitor really is esport practice from home. Outside of testing the 330hz @ 1080p, I really didn't feel much difference from 240hz, while really unimpressed playing a lower resolutions.4K experience: In a world where our GPUs have frame generation technology (2-4x), achieving frames in 4K beyond 165fps is very realistic; making 165hz feel like a ceiling your computer desires to go beyond (but can't due to 165hz panel). That said, the detail on this monitor is something else! While I can't name titles for review purposes, I found myself blown away how one of the best western titles of our time looks on this monitor as drove a train across the entire map so I could admire the landscape in such great detail. This experience was reassuring that this monitor could be more than pleasing in 4K application.330hz @ 1080p: To access this mode, you have to switch it on the monitor settings itself (something I found a bit frustrating at first personally). I loaded up some hero shooters and marveled at the fluidity of gaming at 330fps with native response. As someone who spends A LOT of time gaming at around 200-240FPS at 240hz, I could notice the difference but didn't feel that same awe I felt going from 120hz to 240hz. That said, we're only talking about an additional 90hz difference at the same time. When you turn on the 24" virtualization and enable the the 330Hz: due to the smaller image it looks and feels smooth in a way I can't put into words until you experience it yourself.Overall: If you have the dream to compete at an eSport level while also being able to play other games at 4K, then this would be the ideal monitor for you! I'm still blown away at the contrast, brightness, and color of this monitor with no reflections on a glossy screen! While I think this is a great monitor, I feel like if 4K was 240hz and 1080p at 360hz; this monitor would be undeniable. Until then, this is a solid investment that will allow you to play in conditions that will be replicated in professional-levels of competitive esports. If that's not your focus, I would consider some of the other offerings Samsung's Odyssey monitors have to offer as they are some of the best you can buy right now!

The Kind of Monitor That Makes Your Old One Look Tired
I picked this up as an upgrade from a widescreen monitor, and the difference was obvious right away. We use it for a mix of PC gaming, console gaming, and productivity work, so it needed to do more than just look pretty in one specific situation. Thankfully, it delivers across the board. The 4K resolution makes everything look incredibly sharp, from small text on the desktop to detailed game environments, and it makes everyday work feel cleaner and easier on the eyes. For spreadsheets, multitasking, browsing, and general productivity, the extra clarity and screen space are a big step up.The OLED picture quality is easily the main wow factor here. The black levels and contrast are stunning, and HDR looks impressive with bright highlights and deep contrast that really stand out in cinematic games. We tested it with fast shooters, racing games, and RPGs, and it handled all of them beautifully. The 165Hz refresh rate feels extremely smooth and responsive, especially during faster gameplay, and motion clarity has been excellent with virtually no ghosting or tearing. It also works perfectly with our consoles, so it feels like a true work and gaming hub rather than something that only shines with one setup.Setup was easy, and the monitor itself feels sturdy and well built. The design looks clean and premium in person without being obnoxious, and the stand has been great with solid height adjustment and tilt. It feels stable on the desk, which matters with a monitor this nice. There are plenty of ports for our setup, and the menu system is easy to navigate and responsive enough that making changes does not feel like a chore. The Dual Mode feature has also been surprisingly useful for switching between different gaming scenarios, instead of feeling like a gimmick that sounds better on the box than it works in real life.We have also appreciated the eye comfort during longer use. The sharpness helps a lot, and the brightness management feels well handled. The built in OLED care features make it easier to manage dimming and brightness changes, which gives some peace of mind with regular daily use. Nothing has really disappointed us so far, which is rare with a premium monitor because expectations are naturally high. The combination of picture quality, smoothness, resolution, and usability really lives up to the specs. For serious gamers, console players, or anyone wanting one high end monitor that can handle both work and play, this is absolutely worth it.

A monitor that genuinely changes what I expect from a monitor
I'll be upfront, I'm not a hardcore gamer. But I do spend the better part of 8 hours a day in front of a monitor, so I've sat in front of a lot of them over the years. What I can say is that this one has reset my expectations in a way I didn't see coming.The first thing that hits you is the blacks. DEEP blacks, the kind that makes everything else on screen look sharper, I did not expect this. It's hard to overstate how much that changes the overall image quality. Coming from a bog-standard monitor I'd picked up on sale, the difference wasn't subtle. The 4K resolution looks great and even though I've been told a matte panel is the way to go, I didn't mind the glossy OLED panel, and it might just be that this monitor is better, but I kind of think the glossy panel is pushing the colors even further?The 165Hz refresh rate at 4K is something you can genuinely feel, even in less action-oriented games. I wasn't expecting that to matter as much as it does for the kind of gaming I do, but it's noticeably smoother. The dual mode feature that lets you toggle to 1080p at 330Hz is a nice option to have, though I've mostly stayed at 4K.On the input side, you get 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort. Depending on your setup that could feel limiting, but honestly for most people that's all you'll ever need, and it hasn't been an issue for me.Setup is super simple as well, the monitor found and recognized everything I plugged it into. There is a little power button and controls in the bottom center of the panel.Oh, and one final thing I didn't expect. This panel is SUPER light. The stand for it weighed twice as much as the panel itself. So while this is one of the largest monitors I've owned, it was really easy to mount on a VESA arm and get it into my desired viewing position.Ver másVer menos
