Best Souls Like of 2026
The original Mortal Shell was not good, and its clear the developers learned from their mistakes as Mortal Shell 2 is so good I highly recommend it to anyone who does and does not like "souls like" games. You play as the Harbinger, a creature who can inhabit shells of dead warriors, and uses their abilities as your own. You are tasked with recovering Ova for a sacred entity. During you journey you will uncover more shells, weapons, and tarstones which grant special abilities. Around every corner is a dungeon, boss, or secret to be discovered.The combat is incredible. It plays like Dark Souls and Sekiro in that you move and attack like you would in DS but parry and have no stamina gauge like in Sekiro. Of course, you can opt not to parry and use abilities to defend in different ways. There are a bunch of different close and long ranged weapons and none of them feel bad to use. Each Shell has an ability that you can use in combat. For example, Proxima can throw a blade with a rope on it like Scorpion from Mortal Combat and shock her enemies, Tiel can turn invisible and stab his foes from the shadows, and Smert can freeze time and fight bare-knuckled. So much room for customization and fun!Graphics are excellent on the PS5 Pro and I am getting a smooth 60fps at 4k (upscaled). Music is epic during boss battles and calm while exploring. Creature, world, and shell designs are all great. This game really is great to look at and its only $50. End of the day, this game is a 9/10 for me and I hope people pick this up and give it a try.Ver másVer menos
