Incredibly Effective Note Taking device and app
I bought this to allow me to recap conversations, summary meetings, and be able to be present and attentive instead of taking notes constantly.I’ve been amazed at how well it can capture the co text or tone of a conversation and summarize the key points of a meeting. I used the Note Pro to notate 35 trade show meetings. Despite low talkers, background noise, and meandering conversations the summaries allowed me to effectively recap the conversations weeks later for followup emails and, when needed, dig into the transcripts to clarify exactly what was said.I was curious and figured for $120 why not give it a 30day trial. Now I can’t wait for the next generation to come out.Pluses:- Discreet and easy to operate blindly- you can us it to transcribe a recorded monologue or podcast segment- effectively picks up multiple speakers with background noise and medium sized rooms or cubicles in larger room- It fits in its sleeve on the back of your phone and works as effectively in a pocket- The battery is good enough for three full days of meetings- Context and tone recognition is impressive- Summaries and next steps are automatic- fits in a credit card slot in you wallet if you wantMinuses- Magnetic charging fixture is easy to disconnect (usbc or MagSafe would be better) - Improvements are allegedly coming- downloading a transcript and summary is time consuming even though it goes on in the background- no tracker (like AirTag) would be good but even an AirTag sized space on the back side of the sleeve would be helpful- if your not on the paid subscription, you are asked to with every transcription you initiateIf you think it sounds cool and you want better presence on and notes of meetings and conversations - give it a try.Note: there are several states where it is illegal to record a conversation or meeting without consent and, in some states like California, that legality depends on If the conversation is virtual (no) or in person (yes). A highly recommended AI efficiency-boosting tool
It’s been a great purchase, the design is sleek, lightweight, and feels very well made — it’s extremely thin, almost like a credit card, and easy to carry around. I especially like that it fits nicely with MagSafe accessories, which makes it even more convenient for daily use.Setup was simple, and using it is straightforward. With just one button, it automatically records meetings and converts them into transcripts. The AI summaries are actually useful and save me a lot of time reviewing notes after meetings. Battery life has also been solid — I’ve used it across multiple meetings without needing to recharge.Overall, it does exactly what it promises and improves my productivity. Their documentation sucks. Potentially Good Product Ruined by an Inexcusable Customer Experience.
I recently purchased the Comulytic Note Pro, and while the device itself appears to have considerable potential, the experience of learning how to use it has been one of the worst product onboarding experiences I have encountered in a long time.The Quick Start Guide included with the product is woefully inadequate. It provides almost none of the information a new owner needs to understand the device. I had basic questions such as: How do I know how much battery charge remains? How do I know when it is fully charged? What does “Standby” mean? Can the device be turned off? What are the two rings included in the package used for? What do the various icons on the display mean? None of this should require outside research.The software experience is equally confusing. After purchasing the hardware, I discovered that there is a permanent Starter Plan providing unlimited transcription and basic summaries. That is actually a very attractive feature, but Comu does a terrible job explaining it. On the same screen, I am shown “Starter Plan — Permanent,” “Unlimited Transcription & Basic Summary,” “500/500 Credits,” and a button saying “Try free for 7 days.” There is no clear explanation on that screen of what the 500 credits are used for, what is included permanently, what the seven-day trial adds, what happens after the trial, or what functionality requires a paid subscription.This is not a complaint about having to learn a sophisticated product. I have spent more than 40 years working with technology and businesses. The problem is that customers should not have to reverse-engineer a newly purchased consumer product to understand its basic operation and economics.The frustrating part is that the Note Pro may actually turn out to be a very good product. The hardware is compact, the concept is excellent, and unlimited transcription and basic summaries without a continuing subscription could represent very good value. Unfortunately, Comu has made it unnecessarily difficult for a new customer to reach the point where those benefits become apparent.A simple, well-written 10-page user guide could solve most of these problems. Explain every display icon. Explain charging and battery status. Explain Standby. Explain every accessory in the box. Walk the customer through their first recording from beginning to end. Most importantly, provide a simple comparison showing exactly what is included with the permanent Starter Plan, what the 500 credits purchase, what the seven-day trial unlocks, and what each paid plan costs afterward.Companies sometimes forget that customer experience doesn’t end when they ship the product. A product isn’t successful from the customer’s perspective until the customer can confidently use it to accomplish what they purchased it to do.At this point, my biggest disappointment isn’t necessarily with the Note Pro itself. It is with Comu. The onboarding experience has been so unnecessarily frustrating that, even if the recorder ultimately works very well, I would be extremely reluctant to purchase another product from this company.That is unfortunate because it appears to be an entirely preventable problem. A potentially excellent product deserves an equally good customer experience. Comu isn’t delivering that today.The most telling indictment of Comu’s customer experience is that I had to take more than 20 screenshots of the device and its app and submit them to an AI model just to understand the product’s basic operation, battery indicators, accessories, software plans, credits, subscription pricing, and which features were actually included with my purchase. Think about the irony: I had to use somebody else’s AI product to figure out how to use the AI product I had just purchased.That should never be necessary for a consumer product.

This is exactly what I needed. The software on the phone is seamless! The device is sleek slim and fits nicely to the back of my phone. I have used this to capture conversations in tons of meetings and phone calls. My favorite way to use this is while traveling I can consult with my clients, and not feel the need to write notes, the device is working with me.The product is simple to use. Compact, effective, simple to use AI voice translator
I wanted to share some initial impressions after receiving the Comulytic Note Pro today, to see if it truly lives up to its reputation for being user-friendly. Here’s a quick rundown of my experience so far:First, the packaging and included accessories are quite thoughtful. Along with the device, I found a charging cable that comes with both USB and USB-C adapter, a sturdy magnetic case, a quick start guide, a product warranty safety guide, and two magnetic rings designed for attaching the device to your phone…especially handy for recording phone conversations. The quick start guide features a QR code for downloading the Comulytic App, and there’s a separate QR code card with instructions on how to remove the device from the case.The Note Pro itself is impressively compact and thin, making it easy to handle. Once I installed the app and connected the device via Bluetooth, using it was a breeze. Operating it is simple: press and hold the button for one second until you feel a vibration, which indicated it’s recording. You can pause and resume recordings with a press, and to finish, press and hold again until it vibrates twice and displays “saved”.I tested the device by recording a 25-minute Teams meeting, and it successfully differentiated between participants and myself. It also captured a separate phone conversation fairly accurately. All transcriptions are stored in the phone’s app and, if enabled, backed up to cloud. The translation process is fairly quick, my 25-minute meeting was translated in just a couple minutes. You can export translations in various formats (.txt, .srt, .docx, and .pdf), and send them by text or email.There are a few areas where the experience could be improved. While the device captured most discussions accurately during my initial tests, I plan to explore further if there are ways to improve accuracy. The setup process was straightforward; however, locating the the detailed instruction manual online was not easy. Including a QR code or integrating detailed instructions directly into the app would be helpful.Another point of confusion is the app description in the Apple Store, which mentions “in-app purchase.” Despite this, the installed app allows unlimited transcription and basic summaries for free. Clearer documentation would help clarify this aspect. Also, removing the device from its magnetic case proved tricky for me, even with the QR code instructions, it wasn’t as easy as expected.I plan to use the device mainly for recording Teams meetings at work, and I’ll be sure to provide an updated review once I’ve had more time to explore its features and performance.6/5/26 UPDATE:After using the Comulytic Note Pro for a week now during phone conversations and work Team meetings, I found this device very efficient and useful. On the Team meetings for work, the recordings and conversions translated to transcriptions is very good, about 85-90% accurate; however, the most useful part is the summary feature, which allows me to send the summary of discussions to document agreements made and action items assigned…no more need to take notes. I keep the device in its case attached to my phone to document any important calls. The one slight problem is that in a couple cases I accidentally activated the record button and it continued recording for 30 minutes without my knowledge (recording limits can be adjusted in the app). Not a big issue, just need to be careful if you have it attached to the phone. Overall, I highly recommend.
